    It's now been 7 months since Medina Heating and Air Conditioning did our install. They replaced a lousy 12 year old Lennox system with an awesome new TRANE system. In addition, they replaced my old tank water heater with a tankless Rinnai unit and installed an all new interior gas line with hookups. First off, they did a superb job with the install, but that's not even the beginning of this good review. I had to 2 other local HVAC companies come out prior to meeting Medina Heating. Both of those estimates were WAY too high. The first guy from Blind & Sons was a complete jerk, so there was no way I was considering them (12k for just heat and A/C too). The 2nd estimate, from what was my current HVAC company at the time(Schar HVAC), sent a guy out that new nothing about the product he was selling. Not to mention they wanted 15k for just the Heat and A/C, no tankless water heater. So, now I get to Medina Heating and Air Conditioning. By now I figure all these companies are shysters. Boy was I wrong! The estimator was a wonderful guy. Kind, courteous, and very helpful. He gave us a fantastic deal with no haggling AND it included the top-of-line Rinnai tankless water heater. All of this for less than the first 2 companies. It was a done deal right then and there. The installers came out and did a fantastic job. They even worked extra hard to get the A/C up and running when they knew that it was going to be 90 degrees that day. I don't post a lot of reviews and I meant to post this sooner. I hope everyone at Medina Heating and Air Conditioning get to read this and realize how happy we are with their business. We will be using them from now on for everything and will most definitely recommend them to EVERYONE. Thank you so much!!! Chris & Jen Myers

    The serviceman came out promptly in morning, measured and discussed our needs. Returned 1 and 1/2 hours later and installed a new hot water tank that was perfect for our needs. The plumber was professional and courteous, and the work done was excellent. This is the second time I have had Plumbing 911 out and they have given excellent service each time.

    Sal's Heating & Cooling

    I purchased a coupon on Angie's List that gave me $200 credit toward services.  I called to schedule service and explained that I wanted four items repaired/installed.  The employee explained on the phone that it would cost more than the $200 credit I had purchased, which I expected.  I said that I would pay the additional cost, but that I wanted all four items done.  When the two-man crew came, they were surprised that I wanted those four things done and they said that they would not have time today and that I would have to pay another expense to have a team come out a second time, but that they would do two of the four items.  They said that they would replace the outdoor spigot and repair the toilet.  As they finished up, they handed me a bill for $162 which they required me to pay right then.  Clearly, it had not been communicated to them that I had wanted other work done, or this was just a ploy to get more money out of me.  After the left, I tested the spigot outside.  It's too bad that I can't post a video to this review.  When you turn the spigot on, water shoots out from the seam and sprays all over the house.  Let me be clear, the water does not spray out from where you connect the hose to the spigot, it actually shoots out from the top of the spigot itself!

    A few days later, I also realized that they had turned on two water lines in my basement that had intentionally been turned off.  One of them lead up to my barn and I had a spigot open at the barn to drain the line.  This means that the water was running for A FEW DAYS before I happened to be up at the barn and saw it.  The other valve that they had opened was the BYPASS to go around my softener and iron filter system.  That means that some or all of the water that was fed to my house had not gone through the iron filter.

    As you can imagine, I am as dissatisfied as I could possibly be with Sal's.  I will certainly not use them in the future.  In fact, I won't even allow them to come back and repair the spigot (again) which I have already paid for them to repair...twice, actually if you count the credit purchased through Angie's list and the $162 check that I wrote while they were here.

    This provider helped me diagnose the problem over the phone to determine if a service call was even necessary. After it was determined that he did need to come out, he came after hours and still only charged me for a standard service call.  He took his time explaining what he was doing and giving me pointers of what to check periodically to prevent the need for service.  One of the things that he fixed, he showed me exactly how to do it so that I could prevent future service calls.  When he told me the total cost for the service call which lasted more than an hour (after hours) was only $60, I was in disbelief.

    Scott arrived on time, was courteous and professional. Immediately upon seeing my water heater, he informed me that it was not up to code and that a thermal expansion tank would have to be installed on the water heater. Also missing was a gas line drip leg.
    Some of the copper pipe had to be replaced because it was 1/2" and should have been 3/4". (My house is 90 years old, so things are rarely as they should be).  Scott took the time to explain what he needed to do, then went to work on draining the old tank, removing it, and installing the new one. When he finished, he cleaned up the area and  showed me how to light the pilot if it should ever go out.. I am very satisfied with the work, and would hire this company again.
    My only criticism would be that when I called the company to get a price, I informed them that my current water heater was 14 years old.  I was given a quote of $700.  The possibility of needing a thermal expansion tank at an additional cost of $110, was never mentioned. After talking with Scott, I believe that was an oversight, but wanted to bring it to your attention.

    City had to come to shut off the water and there was a limited time window to  get the job done before city workers went home for the day. 911 Plumbing came out immediately and got the job done promptly. They installed a quality shut off valve and were very professional.

    the job went awesome. at first I was  shocked by the price. but after having other contractors come in for bids they did not have as much knowledge or were not as excited about giving me new ideas. I did have to pay for the estimate. his time frame was longer to do the job than the other contractors.  when I finally decided to choose a contractor I thought I would give mike the job do to his knowledge and the multiple pictures he showed me on the estimate. mike was very clean and he kept the job flowing smoothly. now that the job is done I know why his time frame is longer. the job was literally perfect.

    Gene's Refrigeration Heating AC Plumbing & Elec
    We have been a customer of Gene's for 10 years, and because we had such great service from them on our furnace, we employed them to install a tankless water heater. The original installation was smooth and on-time. The techs explained that it needed to be installed on an outside wall for proper ventilation, and they chose the far wall. It wasn't until after we began using the unit that we realized that having installed the tank on that wall causes us to waste several gallons of water as it travels and heats from the opposite end of the house. In September, a rep came out , reviewed the location with us, and agreed that it could have been installed on a closer wall (& still be properly vented). He did not know why they chose the farthest wall for installation. We asked him to quote the price to move it closer to the hub of our regular water use. It took 2 weeks to get an answer. We thought the price was double an appropriate charge, considering they made the choice of which wall to use for installation in the first place. I called to see if there was any way to reduce the price of the move; always intending to pay reasonable charge. I spoke to Dennis about our disappointment with the entire situation and the quoted price. He said he wanted to keep our business, told us to turn the temperature on the unit to 130 degrees (up from the standard 120) & he would get back to us after reviewing the situation with the rep who wrote up the quote. Over a month later and we have not heard anything back from Dennis or anyone at Gene's. I feel like I have been patted on the head and sent on my way; totally disrespected & dismissed. We are very disappointed and saddened by their lack of genuine concern for our business.

    I was disappointed with their last work. I had used them in the past for about 4 or 5 years and I was happy with their work. I had a motorist cause an accident to my covert under my driveway and my ditch. He basically tore it up. So I called them to give me an estimate. I am on the safe route so I had to fill out a report with Odot as to how exactly I would repair the ditch and the covert. I told them to fillout the Odot report and the same section on my insurance reply form because I wanted the exact same verbiage used. They cancelled the appointment 3 times before they came out. It took them a month to come out. They were 2 hours late when they finally showed up. The whole problem was that they had become busy for themselves. They had not grown in size but they had taken up more jobs. I gave them the forms to fill out and showed the particular line where they had to explain what they were going to replace and how they were going to do it. Ten days later I did not get the form when I called them they told me they did not know how to fill it. This time I explained it again to their office manager. Seven days later I called up again and spoke to a higher level manager. He told me that he will get the manager to mail out the forms on the same day. I received the mail 2 days later. The form was filled but they did not have any details included in it. They were expensive on their price but I was still happy with their previous jobs but this time I was not pleased with them. The accident happened on April 9th and I called them within 2 weeks. It took them through the month of May to come out and another 2 and half weeks before they sent in the forms that were not filled properly. I am now finding another company to do the work.
