Basement Remodeling reviews in Seven Hills

We originally spoke to a rep from the company at the Home and Garden Show. We were impressed with the quality of the materials they used. We then had Michele out to our home to help with the design and provide us with a quote for the project. We ended up having a total of 5 companies give a quote for the project and they had a very competitive price. Michele was able to make our vision and all of our special requests come to life. We had them finish our roughed in full bath, install a kitchenette with water for the fridge and water/drain for the sink. The finished part of our basement was about 900sq ft. One of the things I loved about this company was that we were able to supply materials if we preferred or we could use the standard ones they supplied. The ones they supplied were perfectly fine, but we wanted to match a few items from the rest of the house and customize a few things to make the basement our style. We ended up supplying the doors, kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanity and light fixture, shower insert, and flooring. The Basement Guys installed everything. The plumber and electrician did a very good job and accommodated all of our requests beautifully. We added extra lighting and outlets in the unfinished area for storage for functionality. We had a few guys working on our basement but Jon was my main contact person. Any concerns I had, I spoke with Jon and he made sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. Jon was incredibly responsive and produced and excellent final quality for our basement. Both Michele and Jon were a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend them to others looking to create your dream basement living environment! We are still working on painting, but will post pictures soon. We are very excited to start enjoying our new basement in the very near future. The cost below is what cost we paid to The Basement Guys for the material for walls, trim, and labor. We had additional costs for the items we provided. Had we not provided the doors, vanity, lighting, shower insert or floors, the cost (no kitchen area) would have been about $7000 more through the quote with The Basement Guys. Our total costs were $45000 including the kitchen area ($13000 for cabinets, sink, faucet, and countertops).

They did a wonderful job! The workers were very professional and always on time. They were very receptive to our requests. Best of all, it only took 11 days to completely finish the job, and our basement was cinder block walls and concrete floor. We financed the job and Tara in the finance department was wonderful! The whole job, from start to finish, was a breeze. We couldn't be happier with our new basement and with The Basement Guys! We would definitely recommend them!

I've used Gibson on a couple projects around our house. Last year he installed a pull-down ladder so we could obtain easier access to our attic (previously the only way in was through a small panel in the ceiling of our closet). He also helped patch a couple openings around our deck and backyard shed which raccoons were using to gain entry. Most recently, he installed vinyl tile we'd previously purchased in our basement. I've been happy with his work thus far and I plan to use his services on more upcoming projects in the future.

Went very well! They were great to deal with, great price as well. When we moved to town we got three quotes and McManamon came in right in the middle but they got us the quote the fastest and could start the fastest. They did an excellent job painting, and even came back for spots they missed. Excellent to work with and would definitely use them again.

John came out for a big deal I purchased for basement design plans.  He was punctual, polite, and knowledgeable.  The design plan (printed sheet of paper) he provided was a bit more basic than I expected, but I don't hold that against him because he spent plenty of time discussing options and explaining how things would be done.
Ultimately I did not have him do the work.  I expect he would have done great work, I just felt it wasn't the right match for what I wanted.  I'd probably recommend contacting him if you're looking for premium work and are willing to pay for it.  I went with a different contractor.

Jerry provided a lot of good ideas during the initial estimate, a lot
more ideas than other contractors provided. The ideas and price made us
pick them. We were really happy with the initial stuff - putting in windows,
framing, plumbing, electrical. The people they used to do the drywall
were extremely messy. I know, it is drywall, it is supposed to be messy,
but this was too much. They didn't even attempt to clean up anything. I
had to complain to JM to get them to clean up stuff after the
drywallers were gone. There was some confusion with JM around the cost
of flooring, so we did the flooring ourselves - make sure you ask for
explicit pricing on flooring, both materials and labor. We went through 2
woodworkers, the first was pretty sloppy, the second was awesome and
we're really happy with everything - railing, benches, molding and wood
ledges. The painter was extremely slow and a little sloppy. He
completely missed whole parts of walls. In the end I just finished the
painting myself. The project took a little longer than expected - the
inital estimate was 5-6 weeks, it took 11, 1.5 was a delay because of us
doing the floors ourselves and being on vacation. The initial project
manager we worked with was not very informative, we didn't know if
people were coming and who. Midway through the project we got a new
project manager (Kevin) who kept us very informed.
Overall the price was good for what we got. This was the first contractor we've used, so we have nothing to compare to.

Where to start? Jason was the lead individual on my kitchen and duel bathroom remodel in 2008. Jason was incredible to work with. He knew exactly what he was doing and needed almost no oversight. You tell him what you want and it's done and done correctly. He also made some great suggestions and brought items to my attention that I never thought of but most weren't even involved in the remodel. Jason has an eye for detail and most of all electrical safety which was the majority of items he caught due to our home being a little older. Jason did just about everything except the plumbing, tile, and granite counter tops. Jason was more than willing to allow me to do some of the work on my own to save on some cost as well, which I found that not everyone in the industry is willing to do. Everything turned out amazing and without Jason we would have likely been lost and definitely way over budget. I also think we set some sort of TV style remodel time line record. Jason started on July 6th and was finished by August 13th. My wife graduated from Grad School, we moved in on August 14th and got married on August 30th. Jason knew of our major deadline and we pulled it off.

Our small fall 2008 project was a breeze. Obviously we couldn't do everything at once and we hated those off center recessed "closet" lights, that weren't even in the closet!! We had scheduled to have insulation blown in our attic and as an after thought I called Jason to get the lights taken care of ahead of time. He was very willing and made it a top priority to come out before our insulation date. All work was done with time to spare.

The family room also bugged us from move in but also was put off. Jason was willing to let me do the demo work to save on cost and so he could walk in with a clean slate. He had the electrical work done within a few days and the room itself only took 3 weeks to complete.

The last project in the baseman required several outlets and cable lines to be ran. The basement was already walled off but from the little electrical work Jason saw in the basement during our first large project we knew it wasn't good. The job wasn't large but Jason was more than willing to take it on during a busier season for him and was done in two days.

During all of the times I have worked with Jason he keeps a very clean "worksite" and everything is always in order. He makes sure he gets the work done to your specifications and is very willing to work in a budget. I have experienced other contractors that are given a budget and then come back with a estimate well over your budget. That never happened with Jason. He is very willing to work with you and makes everything very easy to understand. I go out of my way to give Jason's contact info out to anyone looking for electrical or general work. I even have his info stored in my phone! Jason will be working on my home as long as he still works in his field!

I didn't like anything about them. My overall experience with them was average. I will not use their services again in the future.
