Drain Cleaning reviews in Seven Hills

Drain was snaked on October 13, 2016 and was slowly flowing ($100) after mechanical snaking of line. Technician recommended not to use washer and take short showers and recommended pressure jetting of line, he stated this would remove all roots and would provide temporary relief from tree root problem, jetting was done on October 17 at a cost of ($592) we understood roots could eventually come back. After jetting a camera was put down the drain - drain was flowing but roots were still visible, we were told all roots would be removed! Sal's now wants to dig up entire line and replace at a cost of $9,345.00. I videoed the monitor with my camera phone and provided video to another plumbing company - he asked why they only ran one small jet and not multiple jets to remove all roots, good question to ask Sal. Reply below from another plumber after viewing drain snaked by Sal's!!! Quote: "Gary! No problem. I'll get that main looking new! Our sewer jetting with video inspection is $625.00. After jetting you should get much longer usage in between cleanings. We also use a root treatment in our 300 gal holding tank. Those roots will close up soon." Sal's Plumbing never recommended a root treatment nor did they run multiple jets to remove all roots, shoddy work, will never use them again. $692 wasted and they now want $9,345 more for work that is not needed! Would attach video but Angie List cannot accept video file stating - add IMG_2794.MOV reason: not a valid file type. Can send video via instant messaging if phone number is provided. We were fortunate to find Mike and Dawn by referral several years ago. They are true professionals not only in their plumbing knowledge and skills, but in the way they manage their business and treat their customers and we wouldnt think of calling anyone else.

Whether small repairs or what for us seem to be major jobs, they arrive on time, explain what needs to be done, solve the problem and do it at a reasonable price.

For us, The Plumbing Solution is our only solution.

First called Sears which was of no use to me. Their prices were good, but they don't install or assemble heaters. Next I looked at Angie's list (should have gone their first). The first plumbers were booked until Monday. Then I found Do it All Plumbing. I was directed to Joe immediately who was in a supply store and he was able to buy me the water heater I needed. He quoted a price for everything: installation, assembly, clean-up, and adding a modification on the new one which is required by law (my old one did not require it). At this point I decided to hire him. I was only about 10 am, yet he promised to be at my house by noon and he was actually a little early. He was also extremely neat, and took the old water tank with him. He swept all the debris under the heater, and cleaned the dirt and debris as he went along. He was professional, courteous, and completed the job well within the time frame that he quoted. He stated he would be here by noon and done about 6pm. He was actually earlier than noon and he was finished a little after 3pm. Nice Job.

Called Sewer Technology (based on Angies List recommendation), on Sunday morning. I did not expect a return call until Monday. Much to my surprise and delight, Lenny called me back within 30 minutes and we scheduled an appointment for 7:00 AM Monday morning. Lenny was at my door with an infectious smile 5 minutes early. He fully explained what he was going to do. He corrected the problem in under an hour, including clean-up. If that was not enough, Lenny helped me move some furniture before moving on to his next appointment. Lenny truly exceeded my expectation. What more can you ask for. Thanks Lenny.

Jim did an excellent job. Our basement laundry/kitchen drain was severely backed up but Jim was able to clear it out without too much difficulty. We also weren't receiving any hot water in our shower and he was able to fix the problem with only minor adjustment to the assembly. He didn't even charge for that part. In addition, he provided some useful low-cost pointers on how we can save on water and appliance costs. I will definitely be using his services in the future.

Tech came out to our house to inspect A/C that was not blowing cold air.  Said that the only problem was clogged coils in the condenser so just cleaned them out, and left.  Four days later, the A/C was still not blowing cold air, so tech came back out and now said the compressor needed to be replaced (at $1500) and then one week later after all that work was done, the furnace blower motor needed to be replaced when it stopped blowing cold air yet again.
The furnace and A/C were new seven years ago, and were properly maintained.  The tech was incompetent and missed several clues about what could be wrong.
    I won't use them again.

Dan was on time, professional and completed the project within a few hours as we arranged. He came to inspect the issues and answered all of our questions. He did not rush this initial meeting even though it was free of charge-as promoted on his site. I would use his service again without hesitations!

The Mr. Rooter representative proceeded to snake the drain from the exterior clean out toward the house.  The Mr. Rooter representative broke through a minor clogged area and the sewage which then proceeded to flow past the cleanout and then completely stopped flowing.  Then, he attempted to snake the drain from the clean out to the street and was unable to clear the drain.  He realized that he should have snaked from the clean out to the road first before snaking from the clean out to the house.  He repeatedly tried to get the snake to clear the blockage with no success, after several attempts there appeared evidence of mud on the end of the snake.  He attempted to snake the drain from inside the house but was unable to reach the clogged area because he only had a 100 foot snake and the clogged area was beyond that distance.  Not equipped with a longer snake, he attempted to hydro blast the drain from inside the house and the result was sewage back up through the floor drain.  What should have been a routine procedure taking approximately one to two hours resulted in a costly, unsanitary, and inconvenient mess that lasted for several days.

That evening, the house smelled of raw sewage and the floors were covered in sewage residue.  I was told that the Mr. Rooter has a cleaning service available 24/7 for on-call emergency clean up service but they could not get here to clean up the mess until tomorrow morning around 9AM.  I asked if he would contact his manager to resolve the clogged drain issue and clean up the mess tonight.  He told me that his boss/manager was unavailable to address the situation tonight but in the morning, he told me and the other representative present with him, that his boss/manager out at a bar for the evening.  The Mr. Rooter representative used a shop vacuum to clean up the standing sewage on the basement floor and dumped the sewage in the street.  Mr. Rooter left the house that evening with wet, damp, stinky floors.  In order to minimize the odor, I began to clean up the floor mess with bleach and disinfectant to minimize the smell until they could clean up in the morning.

On Sunday, March 1, 2015, the same Mr. Rooter representative came back the next day with his manager; the manager determined that there was something wrong with the clean out tee and proceeded to tell me that he could repair the problem for $3,750.00.

On Monday, March 2, 2015, I contacted several sewer excavating companies to evaluate the problem.  Upon excavating the clean out area, there was no break or damage at the tee but a blockage a few feet from the cleanout/tee area.  Had the Mr. Rooter representative correctly proceeded to check the drain from the clean out to the street and if he was unable to successfully snake to that area, the use of a camera could have then been used to determine the cause and avoided the unnecessary excavation costs and the days without use of allowing any water down the drain.

In summary, the Mr. Rooter representative was unprepared with the lack of necessary equipment to solve the problem, appeared programmed to sell their company?s added services of hydro-blasting and usage of a camera, incorrectly snaked the drain resulting in a worse problem then a slow drain, and created an unhealthy and unsanitary mess by attempting to snake from the house to the street.  The response or lack of immediate resolution from the Mr. Rooter Manager was very unprofessional.  The Manager showed no concerned with the problem or situation because he failed to immediately remediate the problem that night, why?, because he was unavailable (i.e., busy drinking at a bar).  He further made an inaccurate evaluation and stated that the drain tee was broken and his solution was to charge me $3,750.00 to fix it.   He failed to apologize for creating a bigger and more costly problem.  I had to pay for Mr. Rooter's mistakes.  I would not recommend using Mr. Rooter for any services.

Currently, the basement clean out fitting leaks a small amount of sewage water every time the toilet is flushed because the fitting was incorrectly installed by Mr. Rooter.

All three techs we dealt with were highly professional. First, they got a tech out on a federal holiday, and I called that morning. The plug was beyond his tools. We scheduled another visit at our convenience. After checking for a grease trap (based on our homes age and some possible indicators), they cleared the clog. They also noted my sump pump (moving laundry water into the sewer), had a rubber sleeve with two hose clamps that were leaking. There was also no back-flow preventer, so all the sewage in my house could end up in the basement of the line failed. Thank you, former owners. They installed the back-flow preventer and replaced the rubber hose with stainless steel pipe with rubber gaskets that may be the strong point in the system now! Also reworked my under sink plumbing to minimize debris collection in the lines, which so far has worked to keep clogs at bay!

They weren't able to open the drain line to clear it so they couldn't perform the work of the Big Deal I purchased. They let me know there would be no fee and advised me to get a refund from Angie's List. They were punctual and professional and I would consider using them again in the future for a different job!
