Pet Care & Health reviews in Saint Clairsville

mal For all experiences, the vets and the assistants were professional, kind, and helpful.
The first visit was for a general check-up and to inform the vets that our cat did have an underlying health problem.  They easily understood why we wanted to have anew vet to have knowledge of the problem.  The check-up went very well; our cat and us were treated very nicely, the examination was thorough, and all questions were abswered.
The second time we took our cat to the vets was related to the underlying problem and the cat's habit of eating dirt.  Before we took the cat in for the appointment, the staff did some research into the problem, not just waiting to see what we would say upon our visit.  Again, everything went smoothly.
Unfortunately, a few months later, our cat had a  seizure and died: cause unknown.  The hospital took care of the cremation and return of the ashes, with paw prints.  We received a sympathy card signed by everyone at the hospital, which we appreciated very much.
After all three visits, we received a follow-up phone call to check if we had any questions/concerns.

The cat could not walk, was crying and was clearly in pain. i called the hospital and was told it would be $100 unless I could wait four hours and then it would be only $80 for an urgent care visit.   I explained that the cat ate a fern and we were concerned it may be poisoned.  The vet said it had a urinary tract infection and would need to stay with them 3-5 days.  She explained the procedure, left the room, came back with a price list.  The information on the price list was highly technical and not explained well at all.  I was told that the cat would probably die if not treated, would need to eat a special diet for life, and I should go forward with the procedure. I was under the impression, from the hospital, that the cat had only hours to live and I had to do this immediately.
3 days later, the cat was fine and I wanted to pick it up. I was told the cat would need to stay two more days at $55 a day plus the cost of food, for monitoring.  I went to pick up the cat that day.  I told the technician that I wanted to pick up my cat because after doing some checking the most the procedure would have cost me was $300 elsewhere.  I was paying $800.  I told the technician that I was unhappy and that I would not return to their hospital.  She did not say much, retrieved my cat and he is well.
One month later I received a letter in the mail which stated "Do to your inability to communicate effectively with us and your lack of satisfaction with our hospital, you will need to go elsewhere for all of your future veterinary needs"  So essentially, the way this company helps a dissatisfied customer is by firing that customer.  I do not recommend you take an animal to this hospital.
