Water And Smoke Damage reviews in Rocky River

I'd like to start off by saying that all issues (except chipped tub) were eventually corrected, but the process to get to the final product was difficult.  For the painting and plaster repair, the subcontractor was cleaning and storing tools in my finished bathroom, which was out of scope for the project.  This lead to a scratched and cracked sink and chipped bathtub.
I had also asked to have some additional electrical outlets added to 2 out of my 3 bedrooms.  I came home to find the start of adding outlets to the one bedroom that I didn't want any additional outlets, and the approach was awful! I thought they were going run the electrical along the baseboards, but they added some thick plastic strip along the wall about a foot above the baseboard.
The bath remodel was probably the worst, because the work was just sloppy.  The corners of the trim weren't properly mitered, which left gaps in the corners.  There were parts of the drywall that were not cleanly cut.  There was a leak from the sink.  The electrical was the worst part..... they used an electrical box that was wider than the light sconce, so there was blue plastic showing on each side of the light fixture.  The light switch was even put on crooked!

It went great.  He gave us some great advice on faucet replacement.    He was very prompt and very professional and extremely accomodating.  He replaced the faucet very quickly.  I thought the price was reasonable.  I would definitely use him again and plan to the next time I have a need for plumbing repair.

UPDATE 11/20/15: The owner of the company is working with me to better the situation, and I have changed my review from a D to a B in the meantime. My original review follows, and I will update again next week.

The service I paid for (through an Angie's List deal) was described as a comprehensive basement water-proofing inspection, including a thermal imaging scan, humidity readings, a written report, and thorough inspection of inside and outside. However, that's not really the service that I received. I got service at about the level of a free quote, except that I paid for it. If I was reviewing them based on a free quote, it would be better, but I have to review based on the package I purchased as it was described, and I definitely did not receive that package.
The employee from Airguard came out this evening (it was really nice to be able to get an evening appointment) and asked me what my problem was. I told him that I was supposed to get a full inspection, but that I had had some water intrusion issues, and showed him the basement wall where this was occurring. He spent a few minutes looking at the basement wall, and the outside of the house, and recommended fixing our gutter issues first, before moving forward with anything else. He also pointed out mold growing in the basement, and told me a little bit about how basement waterproofing solutions work, as well as rough costs for them. Again, however, he recommended fixing the gutter situation first.
That was the extent of the inspection: a flashlight and quick visual inspection. There's no doubt that I need to get our gutters fixed, but I knew that before the inspection. I did appreciate the fact that he wasn't trying to immediately sell me a waterproofing package. I was ultimately hoping to get a comprehensive inspection, so that I would know for sure where all of our potential water intrusion issues may be, before they become real issues, but I don't really feel any more knowledgeable about our issues than I was before.
For reference, here is a description of the package that I purchased:
$75.00 for a basement waterproofing inspection and evaluation, a thermal imaging scan, and a home water leakage inspection and drainage analysis used for creating a preventative water leakage plan
Review exterior of foundation for potential issues like gutters, downspout returns, window wells, improper grade and other problems that might affect your foundation.
Complete interior basement inspection which includes foundation wall and floor cracks, water leaks from foundation wall and floor, window well leak, leaks around pipes, high humidity and other moisture related problems.
    Relative humidity readings
    Inspection of any water damage
Provide a written report of a plan of repair along with firm estimate of costs
Members will receive a $500 credit toward necessary repairs

Rick contacted me immediately upon receiving my email from Angie's List.  We arranged an appointment for him to come
and evaluate the damage in my basement from the heavy rains in June.  His moisture meter gave information that indicated
lots of water behind the paneling which necessitated removing it to get rid of the mold.
Rick's employees were very polite, prompt and hard working.  All the work was done in the time frame Rick gave me, and they
left my basement clean, neat and sanitized.
I would recommend Dutch's Mold Inspections to anyone looking for a high quality and honest business owner like Rick Nesselhauf.
He and his workers were terrific and did a great job.

Carrara was the first of the three restoration companies to respond after our basement was flooded when storm water back up through a floor drain.  They sent a tech out within one day (which was a miracle considering the number of flooded basements).  He was prompt and professional.  He tested the bottom of the walls for moisture and found that there were only a few spots that needed to be dried.  He helped me place the fans we had already borrowed from neighbors to hit those spots.
He came out a week later to check again, and only two spots were still a little damp.  Again, prompt (he called to let me know he would be just 10 minutes behind the appointment time) and professional.
Although we didn't end up needing their restoration services because our flood damage wasn't that bad, I would definitely call them in the future!!

Excellent work.  We have an old house that requires constant up keep for which I fell behind in doing myself.  Jaime got to all on our list in just a few days of work.  He was very good at explaining what was needed and how he was planning to do the work.

Jaime's diagnostic skills were excellent, and critical to our situation. No one could figure out where water was coming
into our breakfast room. Other "professionals" had water coming in through a flat roof, or wicking up through concrete
floor. None of these was correct. Jaime was a detective in determining how damage had occurred--key to making effective repairs.
Our problem was a Pella picture window that failed in its seam. He also replaced a
door to the room affected by seeping water. Jaime removed aluminum siding & expertly replaced same. Entire wall
beneath a huge window had to be rebuilt, studs, insulation and drywall. Window ledges and wall to concrete slab areas
were capped w aluminum. Skills needed for this job included: dry wall, carpentry, cutting electical & re-establishing,
hanging a door, using a brake to make aluminum sheathing, cutting & fitting wood moldings. Most impressive of all:
Jaime does EVERYTHING to locate your problem, and only then tackles repairs!! Worked very quietly and diligently--
got the job done efficiently and cleaned up really well. We will be using Jaime again, and recommend to friends. This
    is a great guy!!!

Being a condo Board member I was deeply involved in every aspect of the entire rebuilding process. Bob Rothacker is very professional and a joy to work with.  He worked days, evenings and weekends to make sure all unit owners were taken care of and their homes repaired as quickly and professionally possible.  Bob also worked closely with the city and our insurance company (Travelers) allowing for no problems with the handling of the rebuilding and claim.  Roth employees are also very talented, kind and professional people.  Dealing with persons who have suffered a major trauma is not easy but they took the time to kindly handle all residents concerns and requests whether they were realistic or not.

We wouldn't hesitate to work with Roth Construction again and highly recommend them to others.

Took a while to get the job scheduled. Workers were very skilled and efficient, and did a great deal of work very quickly. The price was pretty high for the amount of time spent, but I needed the best quality of work, and I am satisfied they did a very good quality job.

One of the guys used to be our neighbor and he was alright but the rest of the crew was not good. I was not pleased with them. I hated them. Insurance company covered the amount for us. I will not use their service again.
