Television Repair reviews in Rocky River

Replied promptly.  Came when he said he would.  Quoted price based on his analysis of the problem.  Was courteous and professional.  Knowledgeable about TV's.  Answered all questions.  Very pleased with the service.  Would definitely call him again.

Called up made a same day appointment.  Very nice professional staff.  I was told at the time that there was a $60 minimum charge for coming out.

Norm came out, looked up the code the TV was giving and gave me a couple of possible scenarios.  A price for if they could fix it and a price if a part needed to be entirely replaced.  I was able to quickly make an educated decision not to fix based on this information.

I was disappointed when he gave me the bill though because although he did nothing more than an extremely routine visit, he charged me $94.  He gave me a breakdown and said that "$59.99 only pays for ringing the doorbell".

There was $8 that was not accounted for at all and another $20 for diagnostic + Tax.  In my mind, this was nickle and diming and should have been made more clear on the phone.  He did the minimum amount of work possible.  If it is not possible to get him out of your house for less than $94 than they should say so up front.

To start, Craig is extremely trustworthy and a super nice guy,  which makes this a bummer to write.  But I felt like I needed to give this feedback.  I think he's honest and I don't think he would ever rip anybody off.  At the same time he seems wildly disorganized, and didn't seem to know whether he was coming or going. It took approximately two weeks, and 15 phone calls to get two visits and in the end my TV was not fixed and I was out $50.  I took several days off work, and sat around a whole Saturday as he just didn't show up.

For the first appointment, he called and said he wasn't going to be able to make it. No problem these things happen. So we setup another appointment, for which he was a no show, no call.  When I called and asked him why, he seemed genuinely confused as if we did not have an appointment.

We finally establish another date for an appointment and he calls me from another city after apparently mixing up two different jobs.  When he did come that day he was unable to determine the problem and said he needed to do some research. That was a Thursday.  I expected to hear back from him that weekend, but didn't hear back until Tuesday.  Apparently the database he uses was down and he could not research to problem.  Another time he was sick.

Anyway it goes on and on, until I finally get fed up and call another repair shop.  Black Friday was coming and I needed to know if I was repairing the old model, or hunting for deals and scrapping it. Don't you know it, that day I finally get a hold of Craig and he wants to come over the next day.  When he comes to the house, its apparent to me that he has double booked and seems rushed. When the job seems too big, he basically punts and says its too much work.

I eventually called another place, who were much more organized, sent a much more professional technician the same day. And were able to give me a quote for the work on the spot, along with a specified plan.  After a bit of thought, It wound up being more than I was comfortable spending (which may be the moral to this story....when in doubt throw it out!) but at least then I could make an educated decision.

People with expensive TVs (worth discussing a repair) frequently also probably have a job where they don't have time to mess around with missed appointments, and wasted days. If you can't make a scheduled appointment you have to do a better job communicating with the customer.  You have to know exactly when and where you are supposed to be, and what you will be doing when you get there.  Craig's the kind of guy you'd love to get a beer with, but I would NOT recommend him to fix a friend's TV.

David is very nice, thorough and accurate. It was a pleasure to do business with him and plan to again soon. I have a TOSHIBA with the sound out. The estimate was reasonable and no added cost or surprises once I arrived to pick up the TV. This was a fairly newer TV, so we were not ready to get rid of it. I thought that I would first search within Angie's List for someone close to my home with a reasonable cost. I hit the jack pot when I called David. Just down the street from my house and very kind and trusting. Great job, and I highly recommend.

IT''S LIKE WE HAVE A NEW TV NOW. I FEEL THAT RANDY WAS VERY HONEST. HE COULD HAVE TRIED TO SELL US ADDITIONAL PARTS OR OTHER REPAIRS AND WE WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN THE DIFFERENCE. INSTEAD, HE DID A GREAT JOB OF REPAIRING OUR TV AND TOLD US IT SHOULD LAST ANOTHER THREE TO FOUR YEARS.
