Skylight Installation reviews in Rocky River

Campo has seen us through some tough times. Our prior home in Stow had some design flaws, poor insulation work, and pest issues. They helped us troubleshoot and we used them for full roof tear off and replacement with gutters in 2014 ($11k). They did a fabulous job in 2 days with Amish crew 7 a.m.-4 p.m. We stayed in touch with them and Rob came all the way out to the West side in River to help put a chimney cap on and seal perimeter gaps/flashing after recent purchase ($350).

The roof over the garage storage area was completely rotted.  I had gotten several estimates before I came across Home Exteriors on Angie's list.  One company said I should tear off the structure completely because he didn't know how to address the roof  problems (it was an addition to the garage).  Gary was confident that they could replace the roof without any trouble.  Additionally, I had three skylights that  leaked for years. Gary said his company specialized in skylights.  So he included the replacement of the skylights in the roof job.  One of the skylights was completely rotted due to improper installation.  Home exteriors replaced the damaged wood and cleaned up what they mold!   The roof had three layers which was torn off and replaced.  I also had new gutters installed.  Once Gary notified me the job was finished.  I took a look around and found a few things I wanted changed...mostly due to aesthetics.  I sent him pictures of the items I wanted changed.  He said.."No problem" and first the thing next morning his crew was back on the job!  They stayed until I was completely satisfied.  The crew was hard working, accommodating and did an awesome job with the clean up afterwards.  One night they worked in the dark!
I highly recommend Home Exteriors.  Gary is very easy to work with and his price was very good.  Thanks for a great job Gary and crew!

8/28/14-Update-a week after my new roof was installed we had an extremely heavy rain.  As I was sitting in my family room I heard the dreaded...drip..drip.  Yes, the roof was leaking..UGH.  It started in the corner then traveled the length of a beam (cathedral ceiling).  I immediately sent Gary a text of what was happening.  He promptly returned my call and sent two guys out to see what was the problem.  They looked at the area and said it was a gutter problem.  That it was not sloped correctly.  They removed the gutter and did a water test, however, the roof still leaked.  So the next day they sent out a crew and removed that section of shingles and repaired that area, plus they re-positioned the gutter.  The area that leaked was an addition to the original structure.  I did advise Home Exteriors when I obtained an estimate that I had that area repaired a few years back but that it still leaked on occasion, hence one of the reasons for getting a new roof.  While they have always been VERY responsive, I felt that the quality of work was not an "A" rating and lower it to "C" average.  I realize anyone can make a mistake and they were very apologetic.  Unfortunately, now I am concerned about the overall workmanship of the job.  There hasn't been a heavy rain since so I don't know if it will happen again..

We have a tudor style home with a steep, difficult roof - lots of angles and valleys.  We had begun to get leaks and knew we needed a replacement.  We had several roofers decline to bid on the job and others who didn't show up for appointments.  Two different roofers  recommended that we try Runyon.  We worked with Rick McIntire and are very pleased with their service and the results.  Runyon was not the least expensive company but we decided that we wanted the job done right and are very happy.  Last summer was so awful with rain delays that though we signed the contract in June, they were not able to actually start work until October!  Waiting was fine because if we had a leak issue arise, their repair team was out very promptly and did whatever repairs were needed to keep us going until the roof work could start.  The work crew, led by Victor, were great - they were timely and courteous and never left a mess.  I had lived through a prior roof tear-off and expected a huge mess but it did not happen this time.  Norm, the job supervisor, checked in regularly and always checked in with us about any questions.  Any extra work needed, like replacing damaged roof decking, was discussed and approved in advance.

Most impressive was the quality of their work - they took their time and made sure everything was well done.  My husband who is an engineer and a bit of perfectionist, commented on their attention to detail. In short, they did a big, complicated job over several weeks with a minimum of disruption. They also did not let little details slip through the cracks.   Several weeks after the job was done, Rick visited and walked through with us everything that had been done to make sure we were satisfied.  We had a couple adjustments to suggest based on our experience with leaves and snow build-up - those adjustments were quickly completed. On one skylight the screen was damaged and they said they would order a new one - I never had to call them about it - they called me when  it was available and Norm delivered it.  This was a major expense for us but we now feel we have a roof we can be confident of for many years to come.

Mr. Ohmer of Sky Roofing demonstrated the features of the sky light, which fit perfectly and looks great. He also showed me some areas of the roof, which have been damaged by raccoons. I asked him to come back to repair the roof. Mr. Ohmer is totally trustworthy and I will recommend him to anyone who needs roofing work or a sky light. (also, forgot to mention: Mr. Ohmer came out on his day off just to accommodate my schedule).

2 young men did the job quickly and professionally.  They offered other services like the skylights at additional cost, which we declined.
