They had the old retaining walls torn down and hauled out the first day. The rest of the job went as planned, about 1 week total. They added a 2-tier retaining wall around the patio with flower beds between tiers. The walls and new steps look great and they graded the yard around the patio just slightly away to keep excess rain from draining into the sunken patio and planted new grass. They filled the flower beds with nice garden soil also. Overall, great job.

Mixed bag. We had a brick patio in the back and wanted it matched to extend it. They provided a couple options but we weren't too sure about them. They ended up finding something that was close second hand and did a good job with the install but left a partial row of brick on our walkway. They came and fixed it a month or so later. They brought in a nice solution for a hot tub pad area, looks nice. However we discussed having them tie back an arbor vitae branch which turned into an entire trim. Looks neat, but they trimmed too short and turned brown almost immediately. The owner came out and said we had spider mites and to spray for them. We took several samples over to Gales and they looked under the microscope and said we did not have spider mites, and that somebody trimmed too short and that we're going to have to work on feeding them. One of the Soeder landscapers also told us he may have trimmed too short. Bill, you should be ashamed of yourself and for this you get an F in professionalism. We've been staring at our brown arbor vitae going on 4 months now praying they will recover. We ended up tearing up our original patio section to match the extension, bought the bricks through a distributor and did it ourselves. You can save thousands folks, don't be intimidated by the work. They deliver them right to your driveway at about 1/3 the cost.

After first attempting to do our own 500+ square foot patio, my wife and I realized that we were in over our heads (unfortunately not until we had dug most of it out...).  We looked around and received eight quotes from area businesses before deciding on Costello.  Their price was in the upper 1/4 of quotes we received, but after looking at samples they had done and talking to previous customers, we decided to go with someone we wouldn't end up regretting years down the road.
Costello took the time to go over plans and design with us, and even worked with us up until the very end on questions and adjustments.  In the end we couldn't be happier with the work.  It cam out looking amazing and I REALLY have an anal eye for this type of work (which is why it's best I didn't do it myself!).  My neighbor is a retired foreman and had plenty of time to watch Costello's crew work over the three days they were in our yard while my wife and I were at work.  He raved about their professionalism and the care and detail they took in doing the job right, which of course showed in the final product.  Each day when they were through working they took care to clean up the work site before returning the next day.  When they were finished they even took the time to lay down new dirt and seed for the grass that was on the sides of the project (not that my kids are going to let that germinate and grow anytime soon, but that's a different story...).
I would highly recommend them for work in the future!

Trace with TAB property enhancement did an excellent job with our project. We had a old 2 tier flag stone patio that originally we planned to repairing, but after discussing the limitations of our terrain and possible failure of a new patio due to vegetation and large tree roots, Trace suggest a deck design that was far superior to the initial layout we imagined. This was a large project, which involved removal of old patio, fencing, 2 foot high and about 40 foot long retaining wall, regrading law, building cedar deck, and relandscaping yard. In addition a stone walkway was built. Trace's team was very conscientious while on our property, and were meticulous with building our deck and aligning the boards and rails. We discussed multiple design changes prior to the project, and this help us fine tune the final project. Trace was always easy to contact and very accommodative. We even had a couple cedar boards that showed some splitting early after construction, and Traces team came and replaced them readily once requested.

This landscaper could possibly waste your time.  Initial contact by phone was fine, however the day of appointment the owner called several times to meet earlier.  Apparently we had a misunderstanding on meeting time.  No problem, let's try again, we spoke, and he said he would stop by the house.  No dice.  I stuck with him and tried again, he asked for an email on scope of work.  No problem, sent over and no response since.

I've been very polite and patient, described exactly what we were looking for, tried to contact twice/week for 2 weeks with no response.  If you're swamped for Spring, or you are simply not interested in the work, then tell your customer instead of stringing them along for 3 weeks.  We have things to do too you know.

It's a shame, because you have a lot of good reviews.  You should be ashamed of yourself for the way you have strung us along, and said you would do things but didn't do them.

Matt was great to work with and the work performed exceeded expectations.  The front landscaping was done on schedule and completed in only a few days.  We consistently receive feedback from our neighbors on the impressive design and work from Avon.  We subsequently requested a paver patio be installed which turned out better than we hoped.  The patio project didn't begin until a few weeks after original expected start times, but they made sure to have it completed before an event we hosted.  I would highly recommend Avon to anyone and would use them again for any future projects.

Jay and his guys did a great job.  We love our new outdoor seating area.  Jay designed exactly what we were after and made recommendations to improve the overall look and function of our outdoor living area. Jay was always responsive and very professional.

Joe DiPadova met with us on July 17 and agreed to start the next day. We wanted to complete everything by July 21, before our grandkids arrived for a two week stay. They did an excellent job and completed the work as promised. Joe worked with us to change a few things after the work was completed. The irrigation system was installed a couple weeks later. We have had numerous compliments on our newly landscaped yard. We really like the fact that we don't have to drag the hose out for watering the lawn and plants.

Mikel did most of the work himself (with an assistant).  His design was elegant and his use of materials was remarkable.  We decided to add in lights at the last second and he was able to accommodate this.  Overall we are very pleased with the project.  The price was reasonable.  He is very easy to work with.

Bill Soeder is fantastic.  Very easy to talk to and very fair.  His crew is great.  We had several projects done over the course of a spring/summer.  I feel that his prices are fair and trust that he stands by his work.

We did have a few problems however.  Partly due to the wet spring we had last year parts of the project were delayed for months.  When the work was started the crew was punctual and finished quickly. We also had some problems with a lawn that was installed.  The straw that they used must have been contaminated with many weed seeds.  This spring that lawn looks horrible.  I believe that this will eventually mow out over time.  Bill was very kind to offer to help in any way he can.
