  • The ultimate nightmare scenario was averted by Josh and Benjamin from WyattWorks Plumbing.  It was 3 o'clock on New Years Eve and a tenant calls and tells me the bath tub shower is not draining.  I put a call into Emily and she was able to get a crew out that same day to help clear the clog (about 2 hours after I placed the original call).  The trap that Josh and Benjamin had to negotiate was extremely tight and could not be accessed with a snake.  I was certain they were going to have to cut a hole in the ceiling, from the floor below, to access the line.  Thankfully they had an alternate solution that did not involve removing drywall or inconveniencing the tenant anymore.  While they were at it the cleared the bathroom sink, which was also draining slowly.  Once they were finished they both cleaned the entire bathroom and put everything back where it was when they got there, saving me the hassle of doing that.  I was even able to get back to my family in time for the New Years celebration, which was greatly appreciated.  I will certainly be calling WyattWorks for my next plumbing emergency!!

  • Joe came out to bid on fixing / replacing broken storm drains and took a step by step approach to fixing / replacing my storm drains; whereas, every other contractor that gave me an estimate wanted to rip out the entire system and replace the whole thing for double the cost.  As I was in the process of selecting a contractor I had a broken pipe that partially flooded my basement while I was out of town.  Joe came over after 5pm on a Saturday for the emergency fix.  As a result, he got the bid for my storm drains. Joe and his team did a really good job with the storm drains and explained the problems and how they were fixed along the way.  Since then I've also had Joe out to put in a water line for a fridge and install a dishwasher.  I've found Fazio Plumbing to just be reliable and they do the job right.  They don't just use the cheapest materials to make the biggest buck, they do it right the first time and make sure it will last.  I'll use Fazio for all of my future plumbing needs.

  • I imagine a lot of you are skimming these reviews to see if you can trust this vendor.  Based on my experience, they are certainly worthy of your trust and business.
The owner, Tom Carlisle, is a credit to his profession.  Plumbers have a reputation for upcharging clients and advising them that they need expensive and unnecessary services.  I recently was the victim of exactly this type of behavior from another plumbing company, who told me that I need to have my entire concrete slab ripped open to repair a cast-iron pipe.  I called Underground Connections and asked them to come in, thinking their trenchless plumbing technique would be a less costly but still pricey alternative.  Upon arrival, I explained the situation as I understood it to Tom.  If he wanted to, he easily could have told me that I needed the pipe replaced and make a few extra thousand dollars.  He did not.  Instead, Tom looked at the pipe, saw the real problem (which was minor), and fixed it.
You should choose Underground Connections.  They provide top-quality service and - more importantly - are trustworthy.

  • Update June 2015: So we had a torrential rain fall here in Rocky River where many basements were flooded.  I have to say there were NO water issues in the walls and floor in the water-proofed areas! Unfortunately we had storm water back up through the floor drain, so we have to replace the carpet, but because the walls were dry we are fine!  Although if I did it over I would recommend getting one of those back-flow preventers installed while Integrity is out digging for the waterproofing.

    Everything went really well!
    First contact/Quote:
Steve, the owner, contacted us back right away and set up a meeting (we had contacted several other companies and never got a call back).  He took his time to thoroughly look inside our basement, outside in the yard, and answered all of our questions.  We decided to go with them because (1) the type of product they use seemed superior (2) the price was reasonable (3) he showed us a list of others in our neighborhood who had used them in the past to see if we would like to contact anyone.
     Scheduling:
We signed the contract he left from the initial meeting and mailed it in.  The scheduler called us within a week and gave us an estimate that they would be able to do our house the end of July (they can't give an exact time because it's so dependent on the weather).
     Work:
It was mid August when they were able to get us on the schedule (we asked they push us back a week because of school starting).  It took a total of 3 days to complete the work.  The whole crew was friendly and eager to answer questions.  It's a family business so Steve's son was out every day.  They were pretty tidy considering what a messy business it is!  They took great care to put the plants in our hedgerow into a shaded spot and even marked where each plant came from so when they replaced them they were in the correct location.  They let our kids climb into the big excavator machine too which was fun.
    Results:
We can definitely feel a difference when you walk into the basement-it was always very cool before which was really just the dampness.  Now it almost feels warmer in a way.  We've continued to run a dehumidifier down there per Steve's suggestion to get remaining moisture out of the block walls.
Smell-the only issue we had was that the smell of the tar coat that they put on lingered in our house for almost 2-3 weeks.  It was so strong at times we couldn't sit in certain rooms on the main level.  I will say that we had not completely torn out the paneled walls in the basement and I think that trapped some of the odor.  After ripping that out and running multiple fans 24 hrs a day to move air out of the basement it has finally cleared.

  • I originally called to have my main line cleaned because I got a flooded basement most times when it rained.  Jason, the roto rooter repairman, originally spent 8 hours trying to clean out the line to make sure there was nothing he could do without replacing the main line.  He used the cutter and camera, and in the end it became apparent there were major issues that couldn't be fixed without major work.  He recommended replacing the entire mainline, which I agreed to.  When he went to the city, he discovered that there were actually two separate lines, one for the storm drains, and the normal one.  It was obvious we should just replace both while they were at it.  After replacing the lines, he recommended having all the downspouts cleaned because they were obviously clogged.

The excavation and replacement was scheduled immediately and took place within three days.  The work went smoothly, and they did a good job.  They showed me many sections of the pipe, and I saw that they were completely clogged with roots along with many sections being broken.  It was very obvious the work was necessary.

After this, a day later Jason came back out to clean out all of the downspouts.  It took a long time still because they were very backed up, but in the end he was able to clear all the lines out.  After this, he came out another week later to replace a collapsed part of the line that was under the basement.  He did it quickly, cleanly, and well.

In the end, I don't have complaints with the work.  They did everything they could to avoid major work, but in the end took care of everything extensively and made sure it was done right.  They were very professional and got everything done in a timely basis.  My only complaint was that I spent a lot of money, but I don't know if that could've been avoided with all the work that needed to be done.

  • The guys (Mike, Craig, Earl, and Mario) all did an excellent job.  They were very polite, friendly, and conscientious.  Unfortunately, they had to deal with the 90+ degree heat wave, but they kept going.  They were willing to discuss what was going on with each step of the process and answer any questions I had.  They went above and beyond by removing about 20 shrubs and a few large rosebushed from around the house and even a few shrubs that weren't within the working area.   When finished, they cleaned and swept/raked the yard and even put the patio pavers in place.  I didn't need any shrubs to be put back in, but I'm sure they would have done so.

I would definitely recommend Integrity Waterproofing.  Thanks everyone, it was a pleasure to have met you!

  • After we saw the video of the drains, we found out that the work that was needed contradicted what another company quoted us. We saved thousands of dollars because of AAA Pipe Cleaning. They were very good to deal with. They were professional and punctual. I will definitely use their services in the future if needed.

  • It went very well. He pointed out that our window well next to the driveway was a fall-in hazard and he modified it to eliminate the problem. He also mentioned that the a step on the side entrance had too high of a rise. He added stone caps to both steps and now they are much easier to use and look nicer. I had heard that concrete driveways need to be sealed, but Mr. Cecchi said that it was not necessary and was a waste of money. The work was done last summer, but I waited until now to make a report so see how the driveway held up over the winter. It looks as good now as it did when first installed, and the new drain works perfectly.

  • Mike was an exceptional contractor to work with. Here's what made him special: started and finished when he said he would; clearly explained the nature of the work to be done; took extraordinary care to minimize impact on the site, including the home and landscaping; cleaned up after himself; we had a significant storm a week after completion of his work and water re-appeared in the basement- Mike and crew were on site the next day and spent 3 hours to remedy the issue from the inside. He did this at no cost and water has not re-appeared since. Thanks Mike.
