    I paid $484 for the equipment, installation, and one month service before anything was installed. The installation took 2 weeks to schedule and then they called and stated that they needed another week for the equipment to be received at the sub-contracted installer. The installer was late showing up and the installation cost for a pole mount instead of a roof mount was $125 CASH(wouldn't take a check). The system worked off and on for  four days before stopping completely and the data rate was less than half of the stated 1MB/S max stated rate at best. The installer did not tighten down all of the bolts of the dish to the pole mount and the dish moved about 5 degrees in the wind. Water was also left in the feed horn. I called for service after  four days. When the scheduler called later they said it would be 2 weeks before a technician could service the installation. I assume this was from the same sub contractor that did the installation and probably the same employee. 2 weeks for service of an internet service was unacceptable to me but that was the best they could do unless I paid another $6/mo for priority service. No gurarantee of the timing for the priority service. I decided to cancel. In their policy, which you can't access until you establish an online account, you receive only $200 for return of equipment. There is nothing that tells you to establish an online account and unless you have alternative internet service you couldn't anyway. I found out in speaking to them that the installation is  $200 of the $484. There is no way you can get reimbursed for the poor installation and no way to trace the $125 cash that you paid on top of that. I sent the equipment back and they recieved it on 12/23(per UPS tracking and Hughesnets own website). I called on 1/6 to ask about my $200 credit and they said they just recieved the equipment on 1/6. they said that it would take up to 3 weeks to get my credit. I called again on 2/2 and they said it would be another 7 business days to recieve my credit. I asked them when the seven days started and they said 3 weeks after receipt of the equipment. At this point, it had been 6 weeks after they had recieved the equipement. I asked them if the seven days started because I made a phone call and they didn't have an answer. They did finally give me the credit when they determined that I wasn't going away. I do not reccomend anyone do business with this company.
