    Sievers Security Inc
The advice alone from Sievers saved us hundreds of dollars. They did not try to sell me upgrades that I did not need. I will continue to use them for monitoring, will call them for any and all system adjustments, and would recommend them to everyone.

Great!! Company was easy to deal with and the product is great!! I saved over $700 by buying the deal on Angie's list versus buying from the company directly. Customer service didn't treat any different for acquiring the system from Angie's List. Would recommend this system!!

    SimpliSafe Home Security
It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. So far it has been good. I requested 2 day shipping so I paid extra for that. The deal included 2 free months. It is definitely a good service. There is no contract so that makes sure that they keep giving a good service. The product is reasonably priced. It is very user friendly. It took less than 45 minutes to install all the components. Once I was done with it, I could use it with a cell phone or computer. I added a few extras after I was done, such as fire alarms, water alarms and temperature. Overall I could customize it to my needs. So far it has not been a bad experience. I recommended them to my friends. It is a good value for the money. They were very fast to respond. They shipped on time. They even called to make sure I received the product.

    Frontpoint
Had a call with one of their phone reps to discuss my needs, home layout, etc. to configure the best system for my needs. Very easy and got exactly what I needed.
The installation was simple as it's completely wireless and they walk you through all the programming over-the-phone. Much better than having holes drilled and wires run all over your house.

    Frontpoint
We use Frontpoint security and have for about a year now. The cost is $46.52 a month for their wireless monitoring service. It is super easy to install and the wireless monitoring is very convenient. There are mobile apps to control the system from your mobile device.
Our house was entered by a family member that didn't know we had an alarm system on time. They were completely confused due to how loud the alarm was.. At the same time the alarm went off, both my wife and I immediately received text messages notifying us of the alarm being set off. Within seconds, Frontpoint called me to verify the alarm status. Had I not answered, Frontpoint would have sent the local police department to our house.
We've been very happy with Frontpoint and think that the cost is very much in line with other security options.
The fact that there is no major installation was very nice. Additionally, if we ever move, we can easily take the system with us.

    Guardian Protection
This process began with us completing a website request form for a home security system review.  Bill called in less than 1 hour following that submission.  Impressive!  While on the phone, we scheduled the review at our earliest convenience which happened to be the day following the initial call from Bill.

Reese conducted the review and described (and demoed) the security system that Guardian is using.  He spent the better part of 4 hours conducting the review, repeating himself for a returning spouse, and answering questions.

We decided to have the system installed.  The installation was scheduled to occur (again) at our earliest convenience which was to be 4 work days following the review.  The day after the review, we received a call indicating that another install had been cancelled and asked if we wanted to move our install up.  Unfortunately, we could not; but it was nice to know that they would ask.

The install took place as scheduled, with Reese calling early the morning of the install to inform us of the time the installer would arrive and that he would be not far behind.

Reese spent time onsite the day of the install to ensure that the installer was clear on what we wanted to have done and where components were to be installed.

The installer Jim explained what he was going to do and made recommendations about better placement of components when warranted.  Not only was the system installed, but it was tested and explained very well.  AND, Jim cleaned up after himself with a vacuum cleaner; so there was no plaster dust or any other install debris to clean up.

We feel good about having this system installed and have been amazed so far about the responsiveness of this organization!

    Protect Your Home
I will make this story as brief as possible. When the installation tech arrived at 8am he said it should take between 2 - 3 hours to do the installation. He ended up being at our house the entire day, 8 hours. He had numerous problems during the day. He was on the phone to other tech support, he dropped parts and broke them, he misaligned sensors. The list goes on and on. Also during that first day, the tech installed a "glass break" sensor on a wall in a very obvious location that was unnecessary for it to function properly. We told the tech not to mount anymore hardware on the wall without checking with us about the specific location. Sometime later he mounted the cell phone box on the wall in our laundry without asking us. It was wear a cabinet was to be mounted and he had to remove the cell box and relocate it.

At the end of this first day the system was still not operational. On the second day, the tech was there for 2 hours trying to get the equipment to work. After much effort on his part, he said everything was working fine. After he left we looked at the system and the main control panel indicated some error codes. Also, when you would open one of our main floor windows and sliding door, the system would not register them opening. In short, the system was not reading all the sensors properly and not completely protecting the house.

We called ADT several times to get someone out to get the system functioning asap. We asked to speak with a supervisor, none were available. We asked if one could get to our house to see the installation. None had time until the next week. Keep in mind that you have 3 days to cancel your contract. We told ADT that their system was not working and the cancel date was 2 days away. We stressed that, if no one was going to come out to get the system working before the cancellation date we would have no choice but to cancel and have them remove the equipment. The person on the phone offered "well we can cancel your contract now if you would like." There was absolutely zero effort to keep us as a customer. It was like this was a common occurance for them to cancel contracts. There was no escalation of issues to someone to try to save our business. I was surprised that that isn't part of their call center script. They don't even bother.

The next day a different tech was sent to our house to remove all the ADT equipment. He took a quick look at the install and commented that it was done "half a$$ed" and that the guy we had was a "rookie" and that he could fix it. He tried hard to have us keep the equipment. He was a little pushy about it and was the only person during the whole experience that tried to win our business back. He noted everything that was wrong, including using the wrong sensor models for the control panel that was installed. We told him that we were done with ADT since the cancellation date was that day and that ADT made no effort to correct this faster and keep our business. Also, when the control panel was removed from our wall, we found a 1.5" diameter hole in the wall to run a 1/8" cable through. The tech gave us a phone number to call to get ADT to pay for the repair.
He also said the tech that did our work had been doing a bad job and was going to be fired. Our question is, if a guy is doing such a bad job he is going to be fired, why is he working alone drilling holes in peoples walls?

My advice, really research security systems and service providers before signing a contract. We rushed and didn't do our homework up front and had the worst service experience we've ever had. We found a very good service provider since and their installation was effortless and all is working fine.

Ask yourself, if ADT wasn't willing to work hard to satisy us as a customer during the cancellation period, how hard are they going to work to serve you once they have your money and you can't cancel?

    ADT Security Services
After a year and half I had some problems with the system. They had to come out a few times, and and instructions they gave over the phone were inaccurate. They never really fixed the problem. Overall, it was not a good experience.

    TARGET SECURITY ALARM
I called Target Security on Monday, September 8, 2008 after researching several security companies. I spoke with Michael Neider who provided me with on the spot quotes and discounts. I asked about their installation schedule assuming that I would not be able to get scheduled on my day off which was Tuesday (the next day!) Not only was I able to get the install scheduled for Tuesday, I got my requested time as well. The installer (Rich) came on time and was ready to work. He answered all of my questions and honored our keypad placement requests. He completed the install a few hours later than we were told, but he honored placement requests and add on equipment requests which add to the complexity and time required to complete the job. The work was done professionally and he cleaned up as he completed an area. We really appreciated how the installer treated our home with respect and the pride he took in doing a professional job. Note: The final cost was higher because we added optional equipment as a result of our desire not a sales pitch. In fact, there was never any effort to sell us extras.

    ADT
They are great; haven't had any problems. They are good to call the neighbors in Florida, if there are problems, when we are at our home in Ohio. I will keep using them as long as we have the property.
