Bathtub Refinishing reviews in Richmond Heights

  • The process was very fast. Mark worked by himself, came prepared, and didn't need anything. He got the job done effectively and efficiently. The only thing I would warn customers about is the smell in the house. It's a strong epoxy smell that will linger in your home for at least 4 hours. We couldn't crack the windows either because the house needs to stay at 65 degrees for it to dry. We ended up staying at my in-laws house that night. We do have a very small house and only 1 bathroom, and my wife is pregnant, so for many people it might not be bad. Overall excellent work and will hire Mark again. Our tub looks brand new.

  • The company responded immediately to my telephone call and setup an appointment for that day which is excellent customer service. I did get a call in the afternoon that the scheduled plumber got called to an emergency situation. I was asked if I could wait until the next day for my work if possible. I was told if that if I had an emergency they would make the appointment but they were asking if I could delay. I had no problem with delaying because I didn't have an emergency and the fact that they contacted me to discuss this at all is very good customer service and I think commendable. (I contacted two other Angie's List "A" rated plumbers that day that promised to call me back with an appointment time, I never heard from either one of them again) The work I had would normally not be too demanding to do, I would probably have done the work myself except the tub drain, J Trap and the connected pipes were in an extremely difficult position to get to from below due to being blocked by heating ducts and tucked very tightly between the floor joists. The plumber Dennis acknowledged the difficulty but promptly started working on the problem. It took a few hours for him to complete the job due to the difficulty but the estimated charge did not change. Dennis also recommended that I replace the worn lever that opens and closes the tub drain from the big box store as it was an easy job.  I love that kind of customer focused advice instead of just slamming another charge on the bill to replace the item. I recommend Plumbing Source due to my good experience doing business with them.

  • On one of the bathtubs, the finish is already coming off. The second bathtub has not been used yet. I asked them to come back out and repair it. I've never been able to schedule a time for him to come. He doesn't return my calls or text messages. They even included a 4 year guarantee that is supposed to include lifetime repair.

  • Jeff is very punctual on the appointment, and always returned my calls. I called 4 service providers for quotes. One never returned my call regardless I left multiple messages. 2 showed up to give me quote, and Jeff actually just quoted me over the phone, didn't actually come to look at the tub. I picked him mainly because his low price and good reviews from Angie's List. He showed up on time, finished the tub in about 2 hours. Tape the surrounding, and floor, and didn't mess up with any other stuffs. My tub had some very bad acid errosion, because we once soaked up stripes of clothe with some cleaner and laid it on one edge of the tub overnight, and really damage the long side of edge, and also mutliple drip of acid ran down the interior wall of the tub. That's the reason we need to reglaze it. He didn't charge me extra for the filler. He came in to glaze it, and afterwards, it was a lot better, but there were some tiny grey spots if I stare it for like 20 seconds, so we called him wandering if he would come to do anything after we paid him full. Even he didn't come, it would still be an acceptble job in our opinion (we would have rated a B overall). He came out again to touch it up, re-sanding the problem area and spray the area again; took him may be like 15 min. After this second trip, the tub really looks good. I will give an A now. And would recommend him to other people.

  • We had a estimate done several years ago and the price was around 2000 for the complete job. This year the price went up dramatically. The reasons given were the cost of gas and the fact that they now include the wall preparation and repair up front whereas they use to leave it as an "add-on" once the existing walls were exposed. Since most clients needed the additional work, it was better to have the cost up from. We were pleased with the fact that since they did not have a mold to match our exact tub, they replaced the tub at no additional charge. Overall, the job was professionally done, the work was quick and painless and when they were done, the tub and shower looked awesome. By far the best experience I have ever had with a contractor.

  • One tub has been excellent, no problems. The second and larger tub has peeled twice. They have come back out both times to fix the issue. Since then it was had minor flaking, for which I have not called them back for yet. They did make good recommendations for how to maintain the tubs in the future. They do provide a two year guarantee on the work, and it looks good.

  • Since 8/18/06, I have telephoned this company daily for service on the 3/25/2005 installation, as the safety grab bar is loosening from the wall. On or about 8/21/06, "Steven" answered the phone stating he would leave a message for Jim Burnett, the owner. On 8/23/06, "Beth", of "Northcoast Tub and Refinishing", ph. 440-734-7307, left a message to schedule a service time, which subsequently was scheduled for Tuesday, 9/5/06. To date no one has appeared or called, or even answered the phone at Maztec, ph. 440-734-4730, or at "Northcoast". It appears this company will not be honoring the warranty issued with installation. A curstesy call, though, would be warranted if they have indeed gone out of business.

  • I CALLED THEM, THEY CAME OUT AND MEASURED AND WERE REAL NICE. I DID HAVE SOME CONCERNS THAT NEW DOOR WOULD NOT COVER MARKS LEFT BY THE OLD DOOR. I WAITED. I FINALLY CALLED THEM, THE DOOR WAS NOT IN, THEY SAID THEY WERE EXPECTING A DELIVERY ON A FRIDAY. I WASN'T ABLE TO CALL BACK RIGHT AWAY. I WAITED ABOUT A WEEK, CALLED AND THEY SAID IT WAS IN. THEY SAID I SHOULD BE HEARING FROM AN INSTALLER IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS. I WAITED AND THEY HAD NOT CALLED.. I WAITED ABOUT A MONTH TO A MONTH AND A HALF. ONE DAY HE CALLED AND HE SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. WE WERE READY ON THE APPOINTMENT DAY, HE CALLED AND CANCELLED. WE RESCHEDULED. I CANCELLED BECAUSE SOMETHING CAME UP. WE RESCHEDULED, HE DID COME. HE WAS NICE AND DID A GOOD JOB. IT WAS THE WAITING THAT WAS HORRIBLE. ON A SIDE NOTE WE HAD A PROBLEM AND THEY CAME OUT RIGHT AWAY ON TIME TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WE WERE VERY HAPPY. THEY DID EVENTUALLY RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.
