    Mark Monnette Masonry
This was a small job and I called a few masonry companies to get an estimate. Most of them didn't respond or come out as they thought the job was too small. Mark asked me to send him a few pictures and provided an estimate. He came out on a Sunday to perform the work. He did a great job and he stuck to his estimated price even though the job was a little more involved than he originally thought. We would definitely hire Mark again.

showed up on schedule. efficient work... weather was a bit off, so he came back to inspect the drying on exterior work to ensure it was up to par.
    All in all, completely satisfied.

    Blackburns Chimney Sweeps
I wanted to write this to say what horrible service I have had from your company.  A year and a half ago, I had great service.  I had someone come out to inspect the outside of my chimney because many bricks are falling apart.  I received excellent service at that time with numerous color photos and an estimate that was better than two others I had gotten.  Unfortunately, I did not have the money at that time to do the work.  A month or more ago, I called again for another estimate since I am in the position to have the chimney repaired.  I have had horrible service this time around, beginning with the mason's car breaking down on the first appointment to give me another estimate.  I was told they would call me back within a day or two to reschedule.  A week went by and after not hearing anything, I called again.  I was told they would check into it and call me.  The next day I received an estimate via email - very close to the first estimate.  I called again to ask if someone actually came out or they just went by the first estimate and increased it some.  I was told that someone did come out - even though I was never informed of that.  I decided to go ahead and schedule the work.  We came up with a date - today.  I called yesterday to see what time they would be out and no one seemed to know the time but said that they would have the mason call me.  At 2:00 today, after not hearing anything and asking my husband to go by the house, where he confirmed that no one was there, I called to inquire about their whereabouts.  I was told that they showed the appointment for yesterday - even though no one was there yesterday.  I can't say how disappointed I am in your customer service this time around.  I will never recommend your company to anyone and now I am probably too late in the season to get this work done before winter - all because I gave you the benefit of the doubt that you would get the job done.  You will never receive my business and hopefully, people will read this and think twice before calling you.

D M Thompson Chimney Repair Specialist LLC.
The DM Thompson company tore the chimney down to the roofline and rebuilt it. They replaced the flashing. They cleaned up all the debris and hauled it away. I am very pleased with the work and would use them again.

    New Buck Chimney Sweeps
During the cleaning and repainting of the wood insert black paint was painted where it should not be and gold paint was painted on stove front where it should not be. Minor but not professional none the less.
Chimney sweep stated that chimneys clay flue tiles had cracks and needed a new flue liner. I got a quote from him. Later spoke with the owner and the chimney sweep receiving a slightly better deal on a new flue liner install.
For the flue liner install the Installers arrived a little late due to traffic. Spent all day trying to install and having issues. They worked from the roof and I was/am concerned that there may be damage from the time and effort they put in to the install while on the roof. Finally they knocked out bricks on the exterior so they could get the flue insert around the smoke shelf and told me the flue was now in correctly.
When replacing the bricks, which were knocked out, there was too much masonry and not enough brick making the visual effect non aesthetic. I spoke with owner and he had the same individual come back and redo the job a week later. I was still not impressed but I accepted the work which was completed as I did not want any more damage to the masonry. They did put a nice cap on the chimney top.
I recently tried to use the wood burner and believe there to be an issue with the install. Twice I  have started a fire within the stove and twice I have had a room full of smoke before the fire and smoke begin to exit the flue. (Yes, I opened the flue vent cover.)  I believe the flue is crimped and when warmer weather arrives will have them back to take a look at their work and be sure that I am getting the proper draft from the flue. Smoke before heat is indicative of an issue with the new flue insert installation.

    Bob Kessler Construction LLC
I made the call to Bob Kessler Construction LLC inquiring about re-doing some masonry on front steps in Newark, Ohio. The ad for Mr. Kessler's business states that he services "Franklin, Licking Counties & Portions of Fairfield County". When I first spoke with Mr. Kessler, he said the address was too far away, (even though I stressed the residence was on the west side of Newark in Licking County), and he couldn't do it. However, he said he would have a man that works with him call me and he might be able to do it. This man called me and he, too, stated it was too far away, but he would go look at the job. Soon after this call, Mr. Kessler called me and said there was an emergency with the other man's daughter and he would be unable to give me an estimate for the work and they were just too busy. Sorry.
Mr. Kessler's listing on Angie's List is misleading. If Mr. Kessler will not go to (any parts of) Licking County, he should change his ad on Angie's List to be more specific.
This is the only complaint I have for Bob Kessler Construction LLC.  I will say, however, that he was prompt in calling me multiple times.

    GBR Masonry Inc
Although we did not proceed with project, we were very impressed by the knowledge and professionalism of GBR Masonry.   They were friendly and easy to engage.   They provided two quotes as requested.  They were very informative on how the process would work.   I would definitely contact them again if we decided to proceed with project.

    Mark Monnette Masonry
Mark came out and gave estimate.  Said he could do the job in about a week.  He did a great job and we are happy to find a contractor that knew his work.  He cleaned up everything when he finished.  He's been in the building industry many years and has the tools and experience to get the job done correctly.  Thanks Mark!

    Bob Kessler Construction LLC
Three (3) man crew did an excellent job.  They made me feel very comfortable with them and the job they did,  They answered any questions from me with knowledge and patience.  Bob and crew are very honest and sincere.  As was stated to me "I will do a job like I would want done on my own home".  They cleaned up well when job was completed.  I would most certainly hire them again without hesitation.

    Able Roofing
It was perfect. They were amazing and really efficient. They were also twenty grand less than anyone else. The job took a lot longer than anyone thought it would, but they didn't even ask me for another dime. They stuck to their quoted price.
