Arick & Sons Insulation & Roofing
We were in need of insulation for a room that had been missed by the builder 25 years ago. Mike, owner of Arick & Sons, came to inspect and give us an estimate. He was punctual, knowledgeable and gave us a fair price. He touched up a few other areas as well. We noticed an immediate difference in the warmth of the home. Mike and his son cleaned up so well you never would have known they were there. I enjoy working with a smaller family business and recommend this one highly.

We had Mr Arick and son Chris insulate our attic and over our garage. Everything went well and they did a fine job, and were very professional. Our bathroom fans vent pipes were full of bird nest and they replaced them with new pipe. They arrived on time and the job took about five hours from start to clean up. I would recommend them highly as they are very nice and do quality work at a fair price.

    Able Roofing
The job was done by Matt and his assistant Richie.  Both men were skilled, professional, and very cooperative.  We had some preferences about where the roof vent would be installed and the use of "ice guard" to minimize  the chance of future moisture problems.  The guys did everything we asked and then some to insure a good installation.  We would definitely hire them again.

It went well. I thought the price was reasonable. Any call I made to Mike was answered by a service but he returned my calls almost immediately. Mike is "old-school". He understands customer satisfaction.

    The Attic Doctor
Eric and his crew were very professional, patiently answering my questions about the process before, during and after their visit.

During the initial (estimate) visit, Eric was very clear as to what his crew would be doing to correct the mold issue and to improve the ventilation in the attic spaces in question to prevent the mold from returning in the future.
Once his crew arrived to do the work, they were polite and courteous.  I felt they took great efforts to be conscientious -- one of the items that needed to be addressed as part of this job was the addition of more soffit vents to my home--they painted the vents to minimize the contrast between them and the house color, but his crew didn't like the contrast difference and went back up to repaint them!  They also paid attention to the loose pieces of insulation that may have worked their way into the house, and picked them up as they saw them.

Additionally, Eric and his crew were receptive to a request I made for insulation to be added to another attic space that was outside of the original proposal.

The only area where I marked them "down" was for punctuality--this was a 2-day job, and on both days, the crew arrived after they said they would (arriving :45-1:00 later than they told me they would...but that could also be due to the amount of job-specific supplies they needed to load into the trailer/bring with them??)

The attic roof and rafters were originally black with mold...after treatment, the wood looks almost like new.  This week has seen an increase in temperatures and humidity, but I can already notice a significant difference in how the upstairs feels this year as compared to previous years.  I would recommend their services.

    Abode Home Maintenance
From the estimate through to the project end, the company was great to work with. The estimate was very accurate and the owner was very responsive to any questions or concerns we raised.  At any one time, we had 2 or 3 men working on the bathroom.  They were all very professional, did high quality work, and were more than willing to answer our questions and offer suggestions as they worked on the project. The owner also was more than willing to accommodate our schedule because we wanted to be at home while the crew was here working, to ask questions and answer any questions they had or provide decisions when we had to choose between options.

They were pleasant and friendly while doing the work.  Removing the old solid insulation was a lot of work, but they got it done pretty quickly.  They were thorough in their clean-up.  Before this was done, the upstairs was always noticeably warmer than the first floor in the summer, and cooler than the first floor in the winter.  We often had to have the first floor cooler than it needed to in the winter so that it would be cool enough to sleep upstairs.  Now there is little difference in the temperature between floors.

    The Basement Doctor
Overall satisfactory with the work that was performed.   The initial person no longer seemed to be of any concern after the deal was sealed.  When later contacted, response was not as quick as prior to and the personality was quite different.  Interesting comment made that the majority of the customers served were friends and were completely satisfied.  Left a wondering question:  are non-friends treated differently? Hmmm
David was very friendly, informative and appeared to be honest and have true customer empathy.
Did not like dealing with various individuals/personalities working on the project.  After work began and discussions with others, not quite comfortable feeling with suggested work that was recommended.
During initial meeting was very concerned with current/future water entrance/damage; sump pump concerns, crawl space issues, mold, mildew etc.  During the work, was informed that when sump pump was unplugged and plugged back in, it was damaged and required replacment.  When I asked why there was no indication of this prior to, during all questions/examinations, I was told, there was no way of knowing and that was not that individual's area of expertise.  My question is why was this person addressing it.  While that aspect was worked out, was quite surprised that the old sump pump was just left in the garage.
Although the result was amicably resolved, very discouraging with electrical disconnect of home security system and not being able to identify issue and correct initially.  Had to contact security provider and had to have re-routing and new connection. .
So far, satisfaction with crawl space, ceiling/dry wall and other insulation.  Have contacted about the epoxy on the basement walls because there are a couple of areas where damp/sticky spotting is present.  Also, inquired and requested the outside basement walls and the inside flooring application of the apoxy that was indicated during the initial consult; however, it never happened and then I was told there is not a guarantee that the application would prevent any water from getting in. Dry Basement and Waterproofing - then what was the purpose?

    Edwards - Mooney & Moses
We had a Columbia Gas energy audit done in our home that identified under insulated areas and energy loss.  The auditor informed us that we were eligible for rebates on some of the work if we used one of their recommended companies.  We chose Edwards/Mooney and Moses for an estimate and within a day, Allen Yeager came to our home, inspected and measured and provided us with an estimate.  Within a week, the work crew arrived and performed the work.  Chuck and Bill arrived on time and completed the job the same day.  They were professional and courteous.  They were careful to lay down carpet covering, wore booties and cleaned up and took all materials with them.  We received an $800 program rebate on the work done and expect an additional $372 bonus rebate from Columbia Gas.  Our final out of pocket cost should be $642 because we had some additional work done.  This was a very positive experience and we would use them again if needed.
