My orthotics seemed to work well and they were nice. It was a fine experience and I did not have any trouble. I was referred by my doctor.

I got really lost finding the office which is located in a strip mall. But once I arrived he found time to evaluate the condition for which I came in and to make suggestions for helping my feet in general. New orthotics were ordered!and I old be called back when they arrived?

The gentleman had me walk on some papers, etc., leaving marks, and watched as I walked around using a couple orthotic inserts he brought out. Then he suggested a specific set of orthotics for me that took about a month to gradually get used to; this was no surprise because the instructions clearly state a schedule of swapping various inserts in and out of your shoes. Other than the shockingly high price of these inserts, all has been fine. The previous achilles pain has been much reduced since I have used these inserts. (Maybe it's the considerably lighter wallet that actually made the difference? Probably not...)

Very good at explaining their product. I was sort of amazed at the price but my first orthotics were 400 so I guess their price around 500 for 3 pair was not so bad 17 years later. They did an imprint of my foot as I stepped to show what kind of orthotic I needed. then she brought out a whole box of them to make sure i got the right fit. What really sold me was how my left heel felt as soon as i tried walking with their product. It really gave me immediate relief. I know that is not the case for everyone though. They do have a warranty and if I need a slightly different fit, I can get them switched within 60 days. The orthotics are medical grade and if you have one of the savings acounts to help pay health care, it would be covered. We are going to check ours. The sales woman also said that most insurance does not cover orthotics today, but still need to double check that as well. So now I am following their recommended break in period and hoping to get back to my walking routine soon. The true test will be how long these last in comparison to my custom orthotics which were probably worn out several years ago and probably not what my much "older" feet needed.

At my appointment I was told that they would fax the request for approval to the VA that day and that it would probably take the VA as much as a week to respond. Once they did that AO would order them right away and that it would take about a week to get the shoes. In reality they waited until the next day (Wed) to send something to the VA. The VA sent them the PO at 8:00 Am on Thursday morning, the 7th. AO did not order the shoes until Monday the 11th. They claim that the VA sent them 15 orders on Friday the 8th at 3:15 and since they close at 4:30 they ordered them first thing on Monday the 11th. They said that the VA sends the approvals once a week on Friday afternoon. I called the VA and talked to the person who sends the PO's and was told that they send each one as it is requested. I suspect that AO is the one that holds them for the week and orders on Monday morning. When I called them on the 18th they claim that it will take the supplier 2 weeks to deliver the shoes since they are custom made. I called the customer service line for the supplier who told me if I ordered shoes today  I would have them either Thursday or Friday and that the only time there is a problem with that is if they are out of stock. If you go to AO's website you will see them claim superior customer service repeatedly. I certainly do not consider this even reasonably good customer service.
