    Finished Basements Plus Inc.
I had 3 quotes for the job and although Finished Basements Plus wasnt the least expensive quote I chose them based on the fact they have done 6 homes in my 52 house development. I have Brian come out to bid the Job and his knowledge of the business and concerns for my complete satisfaction won them the job. He is a honest man and truely cares about his clients. My basement had a bedroom, playroom, full bath w walk in closet, half bath kitchen, living area, pool table area, and complete bar.

We are very pleased with the entire experience. Everything from the estimate by Zack and the patching and sanding by Annibal and his partner went smoothly. They covered all of our furniture and swept everything. There was very little dust at all while they were sanding because they were so careful to vacuum as they were working. They always asked after they were done for the day if we were satisfied. Then Zach would call to make sure everything went well.

    Artistic Drywall LLC

We picked this company based upon  positive Angie's List reviews. Chris the owner seemed knowledgeable and polite the day he walked the job with me as we discussed a  detailed scope of work . He contacted us later that day  with pricing that we thought seemed reasonable and was inline with other quotes we got for the job. He indicated it would take him about 7 -10  business days to complete the work for $4750.00 with the three man crew he would use on our job. Because his Angie's List reviews were so positive we waited 10 days for him to start. He was late on day one, left early and only had three people with him once. In the end he worked less than 5 complete days and  strong armed us for increases in cost and sought draws of money early that were not yet owed. After convincing us to give him a $750.00 increase in cost  and early draw of $1000.00 not owed, he never came back to the job and quit 3 days later via email refusing to answer our phone calls and text messages. We are out more than half the cost of the original quote but got less than 25% of the work completed. During the time he worked for us he indicated he was dealing with legal issues involving his crew to explain why they were not there. We have also filed a report with the Union county sheriffs department. Chris misled the sheriff deputy telling him we sought extra work that we refused to pay for. We continue to wait for our house  key and a small refund he told the sheriff and us he mailed 5 days ago.

    Finished Basements Plus Inc.
Todd and his crew were excellent!  We interviewed several contractors and decided to use Finished Basements Plus based on their standard materials used on their projects and how easy they were to work with.  From the very first meeting with Bryan, sales and contracts, it was obvious that they had a lot of experience and came with a lot of ideas for our space.  We signed a contract with them in early January with a start date of January 26th.  They started on time with an estimated 5 weeks to complete the project.  Since we have built houses before we knew there would be delays that could not be foreseen and we were able to "roll with it".  Total construction time was 8 weeks with some delays due to weather (heavy snow and ice several times during the project), drywall hanging and finishing took a little longer due to the size of the space, and a lot of detail finish work which was 1000% worth it!
Todd has a great crew that worked in our house for almost 6 weeks getting the steel stud framing ready, the wiring for all the electrical, cutting the floor and moving the pipes for our bathroom, insulating, and then painting and finish work.  Mark, the crew lead, was very friendly and great to ask for feedback on ideas while we were designing and framing.  They arrived early each morning and worked until at least 5 PM every day.  Each day they cleaned the basement before they left which was very nice.  It helped keep our focus on the progress being made and not the clutter.
The drywall was sub-contracted out but Todd coordinated the times and the subs so we knew what was going on at all times.  I will mention that one of the reasons we chose Finished Basements Plus was they were the only contractor to use steel stud framing and moisture resistant drywall throughout the entire basement for their job.  Todd also has a carpet team he works with.  There is a standard set of carpet that comes with the package but we chose to upgrade for a small amount more since we liked the color/style of one of the other options.  Granite counters were also subbed out to a local fabricator.  We had a couple issues with the fabricator not getting certain cuts and holes for the faucet correct.  Todd took care of all of this for us and got all of it fixed the same week even having the fabricator create a new counter top when the first one was drilled incorrectly.  Todd also coordinated all of the permits with our county and the inspectors for sign off.
One of the things we have learned with building houses is you have to stay engaged on the project at all times.  Todd was excellent at communicating when he and his team or subs were going to be there and what was going to be worked on.  I appreciated the great communication as it took a lot of potential frustration out of the project.  I always knew what was going on which was nice.  As with the carpet, we decided to upgrade the tile, the lighting, and some other small details.  Todd let us pick out the lighting we wanted for the kitchen, bathroom, and theater.  He also went with us to the tile store to pick out the Travertine tile and the granite for the counter-tops.  We paid the overages from the base package we initially agreed to which was fine.
We are VERY happy with the finished product.  Todd and Bryan said at the very beginning they would make the basement feel like an extension of the upstairs and they did.  I would recommend Finished Basements Plus to anyone looking to have their basement finished.  Todd was one of the best contractors we have worked with on projects of this size.  Thank you Todd!

This was a new home build. Brian is a professional, knows what he is doing, and no detail is too small. He assisted us with selection of the stone & tile. The shower walls were originally constructed by the general contractor using standard drywall. Brian tore out the drywall and installed cement board using stainless steel screws so that there would be a proper foundation for the tile/stone. He installed a stone mosaic medallion in the master bathroom floor which turned out flawless.

We are note quite finished with the tile/ stone work because we have yet to select the back splash material/design for the kitchen and the stone for the fireplace surround. We will be hiring Brian for that installation as well.

Overall everything went as requested and planned. The cabinets turned out better than we expected. Mark and his cabinet maker were able to make our cabinets the way we requested. Including a pantry unit built from a picture from the Internet.

His sub contractors were very professional in keeping the work area clean and accomodating to work around our schedules.

The quality of the workmanship and the details of the trim and wood work were excellent. They even came up with a clever way to keep an existing window which was not designed at the usual sink height.

The job went well except it took quite a bit longer than they estimated. That was  partly due to the weather.  The workers were polite and accomadating to our needs. We were pleased with the final results.

We had a 7 ft. plaster ceiling.  They pulled out the old ceiling and found we had a 12 ft vaulted ceiling behind it, so they extended it.  They also did skimming on our walls along with prepping and priming them.  Also, they put in 2 new skylights in the kitchen and it looks beautiful!  They did a great job cleaning up (on hands and knees wiping things down).

    Steve Miller
I agreed to his proposal and Steve was able to quickly schedule the project. He completed the work promptly and as scheduled. He communicated well and discussed the progress as the work was completed. Based on his work performance, I will hire him again. I am in the process of completing the project myself. Painting is done, light fixtures are installed, doors are installed. I'm now working on staining and installing the trim.
