    A.O.G. SURVEYING
They were able to come out within a week of me calling. Bob was great to work with and quick to respond.  It took him a couple hours to survey the land since he was having trouble finding the steaks in my yard so he had to do some searching.  He was very pleasant and a nice guy. I felt the price was reasonable for the service.

    Patridge Surveying LLC
After being unable to contact a highly rated surveyor that was on Angie's list, I started looking for another who could survey my property so that I could install a fence. The few that were on the List were either completely backed up (4-6 weeks) or their prices were crazy. One of those surveyors suggested two others that might be able to do it sooner. I contacted both via phone and email and Patridge emailed me back 2 days later (the other never contacted me- Is this just a category of rude contractors!!!).
Most of our contact was via email. Patridge had already pulled my lot info when they made contact and said they could do the and quot;pinand quot; survey for $500, with $100 more if I required a Plat map (which I didn't). They were busy and said that they would know at the beginning of the week when they could schedule it. On May 29th, they emailed me and said they could get to me by Friday JUne 7th and wanted to know if I wanted to proceed, which I did. I'd been trying to find someone to do this for weeks.
Amazingly, I got another email that Monday that they would be there Tuesday (june 3rd)to do the survey. I let them know that I wouldn't be home but they said they would just send me an invoice.
While I wasn't home, my neighbor was and he spoke with them. Said the guy was very friendly and very professional. When I got home from work, the lot was clearly marked and he had dug to show where most of the pins were. I was very pleased with the work, though the lot turned out to be much larger than I thought.
I received the invoice about a week later.
The pins were well marked and staked. There is no doubt where my boundary was. And I appreciate that FINALLY someone was able to help me out.

    Ackison Surveying LLC
There are so few surveyors on Angie's list, so the selection is pretty limited.  This company had a great reputation except for one review in May where there was no contact with him. I decided to give it a shot based on his previous reputation.
I initially tried to contact him via his website and after about 4 days of no response, I moved on to sending him an email. Also no response.  I left a phone message. Every message, phone and electronic, contained my phone number (as well as email addresses on my website and email attempts to contact), what I would like to get done and requesting that the call/email be returned.  On my 2nd telephone message (this all took place over 10 days) I asked him to just call me back and tell me he was unavailable so that I could move on. It has been 3 days since that message and still nothing.  I can take a hint.  Maybe the job is too small, maybe it's the busy season and he's "busy" or maybe something is going on.  But at least have the courtesy to shoot off a quick email or leave a phone message.
I now begin my search anew for a surveyor that has a good reputation and is reasonably priced.  Angie's List needs to grow this category!!!  My Jack Russell Terriers need a fence!
If he ever does call back, I would be more than happy to revise my review. But as of now, this is a bit unprofessional.

    Ackison Surveying LLC
My sweetheart and I need to arrange for two different contractors to take care of our yard grading/landscaping. Before doing any work, we wanted to understand what property was ours, to be be respectful of our neighbors and not interfere on their land. I called and spoke directly to Mr. Ackison. I asked him a series of questions about his service and before he answered, he asked permission to get grounded on our project (or the "why") of the phone call, so he could better assist me. I explained to him what we needed to do and he listened very carefully, asking additional, thoughtful questions. Afterwards, Mr. Ackison gave me several options, explaining each in thorough detail, helping guide me to the one that best fit our needs. He did not try to up-sell me on services that I did not need. (We arranged for a basic survey of finding existing pins and staking) He even offered his Angie's List discount on his own accord, without my asking for it. In addition, he even offered to return at a later date, if needed - if neighbors were upset - to continue with a more in-depth survey (adding a detailed map/plan of our property, etc) for the difference of the regular survey and the next, more expensive option. My conversation with Mr. Ackison was absolutely refreshing and his honesty and fairness meant A LOT. To me, he seems to understand that folks are still having a difficult time with the recession and rising gas prices and he conducts his business with their best interest in mind. In addition, I felt he was as equally respectful of my neighbors without even knowing them. I really felt safe with Mr. Ackison and I knew I didn't have to call any other surveying company, even tho I had 2 more on my list to contact. As for the work done - I left a message for Mr Ackison requesting him and his crew to conduct the survey and gave him a very narrow window to actually do the work (I had a family emergency back home and needed to leave immediately). He returned my call call promptly and made arrangements to come to our home a day earlier than I requested to accommodate my leaving. The next morning at 8:00 a.m. Dan and two other crew members arrived at my home. Before beginning the work, Dan took a few minutes to explain the process and what the crew was going to do as we walked around the yard. Along the way, he also asked if I wanted stakes at every location they were intending - he did not have to place them all and could only focus on the corners if I wanted. I really appreciated Dan taking time with me. I felt like he really wanted me to be completely satisfied with the work he was going to do. What also stood out to me was Dan's sunny disposition. He was so friendly, courteous and professional. I watched as the crew dug the stake holes and they were not too disruptive to the ground. The holes were an adequate size to accommodate the stakes, yet they were small enough to be respectful of our really nice neighbors. I can assure you, if we need any other survey work done be it here or at a future home, Mr Acksion is the man we will be calling. And Dan is the crew leader we will be asking for. Ackison Surveying is the real deal.
