    Ohio Exteriors LLC
Ohio Exteriors replaced the stucco on the front of the home with HardiePlank, replaced old cedar siding on the front of the garage with faux brick, replaced the front door, and painted the stucco on the sides and rear of the house. The faux brick was a perfect match for the existing brick trim. The painters matched the colors of the new HardiePlank to the point it is hard to tell where the HardiePlanking stops and the paint begins. This company is extremely professional and easy to work with. Every person I dealt with was polite, took their time, and did incredible work. The owner of the company on his own initiative came to inspect the quality of the work and spoke with me at length. I am extremely critical of work done on my home and they exceeded my expectations in every area. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

    A Basement 2 NV
Mark and his team were great. We are very happy with the final product. Mark and his team were kind and respectful. We were never pressured to spend more than what we planned. Mark also was able to provide a vision beyond our own and recommend solutions we had not considered, some of which we happily agreed to. He has been doing this for a long time and has great vision for making the space functional and aesthetically pleasing, as well as providing practical solutions to problems. Our new finished basement is wonderful thanks to Mark. Our friends and family are amazed at what he was able to do for us and are very jealous.

It started about March and it's still ongoing honestly. Not that it should be ongoing. I just had somebody out here yesterday with something that they didn't do right. Once they do it right, they do a good job. But I argued with them all summer long because they would just stir things together and then when you questioned it, then they would do it right. Actually I've not been real happy with their service, honestly. Fortunately I was here. I went out and this guy was putting up new fascia boards over the sub-fascia that was so rotten that you could just pull it down with your hands. I said to him, "Did you just put that up?" He was like, "Well yeah, I couldn't find any 2x4s to fix it." This was about the third day they were out here. Needless to say, I went on a rant. They did finally fix it and it looks good. Then the supervisor for the company came out here because I had ranted so much. He didn't even come to the door and identify himself. I looked out in the backyard and there is this man walking around with a camera. So I walked out and I said, "Excuse me, who are you?" He was like, "I'm blah blah blah." His name was Brian. Actually, up until that point he had never identified himself, which I thought was very poor. We were home and he never came to the door, didn't ring the door bell, nothing. He was just walking around our house. Anyway, those were the worst parts. They didn't want to fix the overhang, they wanted to cut it off. I didn't let them do that. So, they finally, finally fixed it by putting some big guy wires. Then, they had to replace some shingles on the roof, after doing that and instead of having the overhang to match the other singles, they just cut it off even. So on the front of my house, I had an overlap on one of it and the rest of it was cut off. One of the problems that started this whole thing is, I had water damage. What caused that was the damage from a gutter that was overflowing and it was getting in between the roof and the house and in the walls. That's what's still going. It's actually exactly the same thing that it was doing before they fixed it, it's doing now. That's why I had the guy out here yesterday. I really liked the guy, their honcho, but I would never ever have them again and it's like I said, once they do it right after you've moaned and groaned about it long enough, they do a nice job. But, I wouldn't recommend them to anybody unless you're there and can watch them do whatever they do every minute of the day. The other thing was with the shingles. This was actually kind of funny in a way. We had gone out for dinner. When we came home, there was a guy on our roof, fixing those shingles that they had screwed up. It actually was kind of funny because he is up there working and he had his teenage daughter up there with him working and never said a word. Well, the first thing, his wife gets out of the truck and comes over and starts talking. We stand out there and chitchat, but we weren't even home when he started. I thought that was a little unusual also because they had not told me that he was coming. I was not at all happy with their service. Afterwards, when they finally have done most of it right now, except for this fascia in front. What they do is, if you watch them, they do a pretty good job, but it's a matter of having to watch them. The thing with the board over the rotten stuff was the one that started it all and after that I was like an eagle. If you watched them all the time, the finished product was pretty good. I'm 71 years old and I firmly believe, that a lot of these people, because a woman is older, they try to take advantage and I honestly believe that that is what happened here. I had warned this guy at the beginning when I contracted with them. I said, "My dad was a carpenter." I was used to following around and I said, "I don't know how to build a house, but I can tell you how not to build a house." He knew I was going to be watching him and it didn't seem to make any difference. He probably figured I was stupid because most men think women are stupid when it comes to something like that, especially when it comes to building. The cost was probably reasonable for what all they did, but what should have taken a month took about four.

    Handyman Professionals
The project went great. James had some very good ideas for the design and implementation. His rates were the most competitive out of 5 bids. The finished product was top notch.  As in any remodel of an established property, there will be changes and unforeseen issues along the way. This is when the contractor can really take advantage of a client since the work is already in progress. James was always very honest and fair. Finding quality pricing and work is not always difficult. Finding a contractor you can trust is...James is the bet there is.

    ZNB Construction LLC
We worked with ZNB Construction for a major master bath remodel, expanding a second 1/2 bath to a full bath, and a few other side jobs completed concurrently.  The overall experience was very positive and we would highly recommend ZNB Construction for similar projects.
Key factors in recommending ZNB Construction are:- Cost - We had numerous estimates done and the cost for ZNB was extremely competitive.
    - Unexpected project additions - We did have some fairly major wood rot in a wall in the master bath that was unanticipated and was a mandatory fix.  The added project estimate for remediation from ZNB was very fair and we did not feel that they took advantage of the situation.
    - Communication - It was extremely easy to communicate with ZNB (particularly Neil Bookout) and they were very responsive over all channels of communication (text, email, phone).  We found the ability to easily communicate about the project to be key to proper handling of challenges and successful completion.
    - Handling of project challenges - There were a couple minor setbacks that were handled very well.  An electric short during work blew out our garage door opener.  This could have resulted in a stressful situation and finger pointing on who was liable for the damage.  Instead, ZNB immediately replaced the garage door opener with a new unit.  A bathroom vanity sustained minor damage during work and ZNB brought in a company that specialized in repairing such units to restore it to an "as new" state and expressed willingness to replace the vanity if the repair wasn't good enough (it was, no replacement was necessary).
    - Additional jobs - We came up with a few additional optional jobs over the course of the remodel and ZNB Construction was more than willing to take them on immediately and quoted very reasonable prices for them.
    - Final product - We ended up with a quality master bathroom that matched our vision for what we were trying to achieve and are excited to use for the next 20+ years.  The additional projects were also all successful.
Overall, working with ZNB Construction was an easy and successful experience.  While the project did not go perfectly (which is virtually impossible for any project of this size), ZNB Construction minimized issues and dealt with the issues that did occur.  If you are looking for a fairly priced major remodel with a company that makes the project painless, ZNB Construction should be considered for the job.

Excellent.  Mr. Barton and his crew were professional, knowledgeable, skilled, courteous and cleaned up upon completion.  Their proposed pricing was on target and he also gave us a "not to exceed" price.

Vance's Custom Interior Trim & Cabinets
Vance's work is beautiful, very high quality and we are very happy with how the projects turned out.  We expanded our study by 2 feet by removing the closet and replacing it with shelving.  The workmanship is top notch, the color perfectly matches the wood trim in the room and nice touches with a dimmer on the can lights and self, quiet closing cabinet doors was appreciated.
Vance is very busy - he is in demand so be prepared that the project might take longer than other cabinet builders but he is worth the wait.

    Newlook Sidings Inc
    One word: Awesome!
All the work was excellent.  Ed explained everything he was going to do and then did it.  How refreshing is that ?  Best to have a piece of paper around in case he needs to draw it out so you can better understand what he's going to do.
Workers did a fantastic job!   Dan is a real craftsman who takes pride in his work and it shows.  Instead of just flat wrapping the fascia, the wraps were hand formed from flat metal using a metal brake with an architectural detail to add dimension to the wrap that I've never seen on any house before and the work is superb.
They arrived when they said and cleaned up everyday.
Courteous, professional, detail oriented and also always took the time to explain anything you wanted to know.
As an example, I needed some OSB to be replaced due to unseen damage and Newlook just did the work because it was the right way to do the job (included that OSB repair in the price too).
I can't say enough good things about the work and ethics of this company.
Will absolutely use Newlook the next time I need work done.  I'll recommend them without hesitation.
Thanks Ed and team for a job well done !

Affordable Interior Finish Carpentry & Floors

Brian and his team (Toby and Nathan) did an outstanding job on a huge remodeling project that transformed the entire look of the floors and baseboard in the house. From the time of the first estimate in April until the completion of the project on July 2nd, Brian essentially was the "quarterback" of the project. We had a new engineered wood floor (hickory color) installed to replace the carpet in the great room. We also had new carpet installed in three rooms on the 1st floor, the loft upstairs and steps up & down. In addition, we had new vinyl floors installed in the foyer of the house, two bathrooms and the laundry room. All of the merchandise (floor, carpet and vinyl) was purchased at Levi's 4 Floors. Although Brian didn't install the carpet or the vinyl (this was done through Levi's), Brian's team installed the wood floor (which we love), after first picking it up for us at Levi's and installing a new sub-floor to make the wood floor more stable and secure. He also installed the new baseboard and shoe molding. He also sequenced all of the installations and did all of the transition pieces from room to room. This minimized the inconvenience of multiple installation teams over-lapping on their portion of the project.

As for the work done by Brian and team, it was terrific. We are very pleased. Brian is a fantastic carpenter and it is reflected in the baseboard and shoe molding work and the many angles needed for the floor in the fireplace area, around all steps, etc.  He also designed and built a stair-nose which transitioned from the wood floor to the carpeted steps. Brian worked with us to find just the right color of stain for the baseboard, which complimented the hickory look wood floor in the great room. They did a great job staining and finishing the new baseboard. Brian and team moved the furniture out of the great room, ripped up and removed the old carpet and installed the floor. As a nice touch, the team put felt casters on the bottom of all of the furniture pieces before putting them back on the floor.

Several other things that Brian did which we really loved -

He mixed a second color of stain, more compatible to the hickory floor for the transitions pieces that touched the wood floor.

He replaced all of the door jams with new ones.

He installed two oak cabinets in the laundry room (which we had purchased at Menards).

He supplied, stained, finished and installed shoe molding in all areas where the baseboard was on smooth floors. It looks terrific and compliments the baseboard.

Brian and team are very professional, friendly and hard-working. In some cases, they worked partial days on the weekend in order to complete the project as quickly as possible. They worked around our schedule as we did with theirs', as well.

Our house looks BRAND NEW inside, thanks to all of the beautiful new flooring and baseboards and the super craftsmanship provided by Brian . We love it! I highly recommend Brian and his team.

    Quality 1st Home Improvements LLC
He asked for a substantial deposit. He and his crew started working on the basement mid-November. They worked on it for 3 weeks. During that time period items were stolen from my home. He acknowledged that his workers had been the ones stealing. Mr. Logan replaced the stolen items. I had filed police reports because of this. Shortly after that the work had stopped. He did not work on my basement from mid-December until early January. After that 1 day in January he did not return until March. During that time period he would not return my phone calls. On 14 occasions he told me he would return and did not. I asked for my money back. He has refused to pay me back. I have retained an attorney to collect the money. The attorney drew up a repayment agreement that the service provider agreed to. Mr. Logan has refused to honor the terms of the agreement. Instead the service provider has given me a bad check as payment. Since Dec 2013 he has not returned any of my deposit.
