Came in just before lunch and Doctor missed his lunch to give me an exam. Exam was excellent, had three pre-tests and spent quality time with doctor going over my needs. Two assistants were also very helpful in picking out glasses and providing input on lens providers.

She has good skills. She has good equipment. She is friendly. Her staff is friendly too. She works with a group. I think their prescription glasses are quite expensive but it is to my convenience and it is paid for by my insurance so it is okay.

The appointment went very smoothly and quickly. An optician first took me to test my peripheral vision using a machine, then said we would wait until the end of the appointment to do the air pressure test so that I wouldn't have to remove my contacts twice. She must have forgotten, because I never actually went back for the test. The doctor also gave me a few sample contacts in a new prescription to test before I fill a full prescription, which I appreciated. Dr. Smith herself seemed very friendly, energetic, and professional. I do wish that this office had an Optomap machine. I liked the convenience of not having to have my eyes dilated at my last optometrist, even if it cost a little more (it was optional at my last optometrist, who would also do traditional dilation). Instead, I had to make another appointment for an evening when I can have my eyes dilated. As a last note, I did notice a slight amount of swelling and tenderness under my left eye after leaving the office, which made me wonder whether I might have gotten a little bacteria from a piece of equipment. I saw the doctor clean off some of the instruments, but wasn't paying particularly close attention for all of them. I didn't let this affect my rating, however, because I can't confirm whether the swelling is related to a lack of hygiene. I would just recommend future patients to pay attention to sanitizing practices when they visit.
