Her treatment started at Dayton (Ohio) Childrens" Hospital Dr. Lehner who claimed he was Ponseti trained but not true.  At around 6 months of age her progress was inadequate so we called Iowa & Dr. Ponseti took her in the following week..After 6 weekly & 6 annual  trips including 2 sets of tenotomys & one bilteral tendon transfer ,she is well corrected.  Both myself & my wife had club feet & would be much better off if our parents had found out about Ponseti Method.  If you feel it's too far to go for the treatment, be sure to call University of Iowa for a list of Ponseti trained Orthopedic physicians Best of luck to you,.

I saw Dr. Samantha Bark at the Orthopedic Center and she is absolutely incredible. She was very precise in explaining the procedure, approximate recovery time, pain management, benefits and risks, and answered all my questions. The pre and post op staff were extremely friendly and made me very comfortable. Needless to say, it's been a little over a week since I had the surgery, and I really haven't been able to notice a difference yet since the recovery takes many weeks, but Dr. Bark and her staff have been so helpful and supportive through every step and problem along the way. When I was in post-op, she along with one of the nurses went out of their way to contact other associates in the area to see where I could rent a knee stroller since I can't have any type of weight on my foot for several weeks and crutches can be miserable. I also had called in need of a medication refill a week after the procedure, and had a response within 45 minutes on a day she was very busy with other patients. She is super sweet and I am so glad she is the one who did my surgery. I would refer her to anyone and everyone in need of a great podiatrist! If I could rate her and her staff an A+++, I would!

I am now recovered and better than I was when I was before the surgery. Dr. Dawson rates very high in my estimation.

He is really great.  He calls you to check on you.  If you have a problem, he tells you to call his home phone number.  He is just exceptional in how he works.  He is very concerned about you and he lets you know that.  He is really good.  There was a problem with blood flow getting to the ankle and part of the bone had died off.  He went in and cleaned it out and tried to get the blood flow going again.  It is still healing.  They said it would take a year before the swelling went away.  Everything went pretty well.  I did have a little bit of a scare after the surgery.  A little while after the surgery I had a lot of swelling and it knocked me down.  He had told me to call him at his house if I had any problems.  I called him on a Saturday night.  He answered his phone.  He talked to me and told me if I had any problems and if it continued, to go to the emergency room and call him on Sunday and let him know how it was if it got worse.  It got better overnight so I didn't call him on Sunday.  Later on Sunday afternoon he called me to check on me.  Not many doctors do that on a Sunday.  We went to Florida on the 1st of January and I saw him before I left.  He told me to call him if I had any problems down there.  He was exceptional.  He really cared about his work.

The surgery and follow-up when fine. However, a July complication ended up with me incurring expenses that came as a complete surprise. Also, follow-up x-rays were invoiced to my insurance company and I was not told they were in addition to the normal surgery and follow-up I had pre-paid for. A bill came in August from April because my insurance wouldn't pay for the additional x-rays.
