AShore's Edge CarpentryAfter failing to find a reliable carpenter we decided to try searching on craigslist. We replied to an ad that Dan had placed on that site. He was quick to reply to our initial email. He was extremely professional & answered all of our questions immediately. We scheduled an appointment for him to come and give us an estimate. We found Dan to be qualified, professional, polite & affordable. Dan is very reliable, honest & does an amazing job! We could not be happier with the work that he has done for us so far. He finished this project today & we are already talking to him about more work we are hoping to do in the near future. FDavis Prof, Home Maint, repairs, and InstalationHe came over and looked at what I wanted done said ok and said he would call me the following week. A week went by and I did't hear from him so I called him again. He said he had lost my number but he had it now and would call me the first of the following week. Custom manufacturers of of all wood windows - Sashes, Transoms, Single Hung Window Units, Hopper Window Units, Fixed Window Units and Screens for sheds, barns, stables, pool houses, cabins, chicken coops including homes for interior walls. DScreens poorly designed and cheaply manufactured. PELLA’s resolution totally unacceptable. They put 1/4” strip of stick on insulation on screen frame bottom to fill the 1/4 inch gap between bottom of screen frame and window sill. This jerry rigged! fix did not keep insects out, The adhesive attracted dirt and bugs which stuck to it. The stick on insulation pulled off after a couple of months. Pella states “the screens were BUILT AS DESIGNED AND PERFORMING PER SPECIFICATION” I wrote to Mr. Tim Yaggi CEO requesting an expiation of this ambiguous statement. NO REPLY. Does it mean designed to allow insects to enter ? Then I guess they are performing per specification. I would really like to post the very detailed and self explanatory pictures but if I can’t check out their site on YELP or CONSUMER AFFAIRS.

We use only reputable sub contractors, who like us, are licensed, bonded, & insured in the applicable areas pertaining to the work.

DThings started out well and slowly went downhill. Mike and Melissa are very nice people, but we quickly found out they became very tardy to completely unresponsive to our emails in the planning phase. Most disappointing was their failure to properly finish the Formica solid surface counter tops to Formica specifications - which immediately voided our warranty with the Formica corporation. The counter tops were unprotected during tiling phase, which left many scratches and cuts on them. They were also finished incorrectly leaving deep orbital sander swirls. We applied a counter top polish to help, but this made the scratches even more visible. We were told rubbing compound was applied to one countertop which is not recommended by Formica. When our warranty was voided by Formica, they sent their PDF for correct finishing which we presented to Mike 3 times. We eventually had to finish the counter tops ourselves. Response to the comment below: Contrary to the service provider's comment of "re-quoting a project several times after selections were changed multiple time" - this was not true. We changed our contract one time after the initial one and this was before it was signed and a deposit paid. Contrary to the warranty being voided for the counter tops after olive oil was applied - this is not true. The counter top warranty was voided after we sent a claim into Formica cooperate asking for a resolution. We explained that they were not finished according to their specifications. Formica immediately voided our warranty because of this (it had nothing to do with olive oil being applied to them.) We have a copy of this claim and Formicas response. Contrary to Melissa quoting a price for granite - this is not true. We never wanted granite counter tops. Contrary to the statement "we had many discussion with Formica" Formica told us they had no record of our contractor contacting them. As far as tile being cut on the tops which left scratches, we have pictures of this. When Formica voided our warranty they sent their precise instructions which we gave to Mike. He did not want them. After talking to Formica several times, I finally finished the counter tops correctly and to our satisfaction. The counter tops and backsplash were the centerpiece of our renovation and when Mike did not want to finish them to specifications, we were very disappointed, which unfortunately dulled the rest of the project. When I finished the counter tops myself, the contractor immediately voided his warranty of them
