It went very well. Rob (Laws) and his coworker Donna completed the job in three days. They were very friendly, focused, efficient, and skilled at putting down the carpeting and paint. The final results were outstanding In addition, Rob clearly answered all our questions about what techniques and tools there were using (we're very curious); that was a nifty bonus. For subsequent carpeting jobs, we will not hesitate to employ these people again.

Jay and his co-worker are great. True professionals, and very nice people. You know immediately that he is well experienced, and knows what he is doing. Jay went out of his way to make sure we were pleased with the work performed, and completed on a timely basis. He is meticulous and does the job the correct way. He has an attention to detail, and a great eye for design. We would hire him again without hesitation. We added some services from the original estimate and he fairly priced the additions. Best experience we've every had with a contractor.

Work moved slowly but surely for 8 weeks of the quoted 4-6 week time frame. When close to finishing, we asked for a final number, and were presented with a hand written (on notebook paper) invoice, which exceeded the quote by $8000. This number did NOT match any quote we had ever received, we were ready to pay for it, we were just confused. We then asked for information regarding this overage to be provided, specifically: man hours, itemized material list, and receipts. We were repeatedly denied, and our calls were dodged. The subcontracted electrician was also poorly informed of the scope of work, and as a result, made several mistakes in the lighting. the contractor and ourselves decided to split the cost of the mistake (even though the contractor explicitly denied a walkthrough that was requested by the electrician) as we were both decision making parties. This is when it all came to a head Our calls were dodged, our texts went unanswered, so we decided to send one last text, informing the GC that the house would be locked, (previously a side door was left open for his access) and that when he came to finish the trim, he would need to give us a ring to let him in. Unbeknownst to us, an hour before sending this text, we received an email, informing us that we would need a new GC, and that he was quitting the job. This email also included wildly inaccurate payment figures, a poorly itemized invoice for labor and materials, and a statement reflecting his termination of the contract, and accepting his payment to date as full and final. He also went out of his way to mention that he was "pulling the permits" on the job, as if to imply that he would be using that as a tool to make our lives harder. Fortunately, such a thing does not exist, as permits are for work done at a site, NOT contractor specific. So not only was the GC slow, dishonest, and not great at his job, he also, apparently, was conniving, albeit fruitlessly so. You'd think that would be the end of it. However, a week or two later, with electrical work unfinished, and a job left undone, and $16K from insurance out of our pocket, we reached out to the electrician, to see if he had any insight, He then informed us that he was unpaid $750 for work that had been done. He convinced (see:swindled) my wife into accepting this, and agreeing to pay him. As he framed it "i cannot complete this work until the balance is paid." She of course, has no idea of a well settled precedent that he is paid by the GC for work done under his employ, not by the owner. My wife then asked him to provide a detailed invoice of work done to justify a payment on our end, and immediately informed him that no such payment would take place in the absence of such a document, and that he should talk to the contractor, who has, in his own words, been paid the full and final amount, but if he would like to quote us for work to finish the home, we would take it under advisement. His quote was very, very, high, and we decided against hiring him to finish this work. The electrician has now filed a lawsuit alleging that he is unpaid for the work that he has been done, and that the balance falls on us. So see you in court, I suppose, (Don't worry, you can read all about THAT interaction in a separate review) So here we are,we started a project at the end of February, early March, as it stands it is the eighth of June, we are about a week away from completion, and now also will have a court date to settle the utter and flagrant ineptitude of this god awful remodeling company, and the equally inadequate cohorts. I would also be remiss if I neglected to mention the shoddy drywall work, the poor rough, and the improperly built staircase, the unfinished basic electric, the poor measurements that led to plumbing and electric taking up half of my kitchen island cabinetry, as well as the terrible customer service, and 8 week turnaround on cabinets from the supplier that he all but forced us to work with (Also, will have their own review) The saddest part of all of this, is that I went to high school with the GC, and some of his employees, and I have nothing but respect and love for them. I've nos lost a friendship(s), as well as $16k to sub par work, that leaves a terrible taste in my mouth, and landed us PLENTY of work to do ourselves.

    Floor Coverings International Cleveland West
The bad news was, that we had a pipe break in our house that caused major damage. The good news was, we got to replace our carpet through Floor Coverings International. What a stand-up company! Before calling John & Jen Toth, we endured the very unpleasant task of visiting every carpet store near us - each one worse than the last. The "used car salesman" tactics we're agonizing! Every single store had "hidden charges" that were revealed only after I aggressively pushed them into the truth. Additionally, not one of those stores showed us the type of carpet we were looking for. I was beginning to think that we would be stuck with concrete... Then I found FCI. The entire experience was pleasant from start to finish! John came to our home in his mobile showroom. He talked to us about our needs, viewed and measured the space, and explained how his company could help us. At that point, John went out to his truck and brought in carpet samples that were exactly what we were looking both, carpet and padding! The quote he provided was complete... with no hidden charges! We were thrilled! The installer, Rob, was excellent as well! He did a professional job for sure! Excellent workmanship on our steps and the seam in the middle of our large room is completely invisible! At completion, everything was cleaned up and he even vacuumed the carpet before he left! John returned after the carpet was installed, to check everything out and to make sure we were pleased. All I can say is, WOW! Amazing experience at a reasonable price! We will definitely call them again when we're ready to carpet another space in our home!

    J R LUXURY BATH & PLumbing Inc
Chad did a great job. He had to correct several problems from how the house was built, and had to deal with significant settling and wall movement. We were highly satisfied with the quality of both the materials installed and the workmanship. They made the planning and decision-making about materials very easy. After negotiating the price, they sat down with us and over a couple hours walked us through choosing everything from countertops to towel racks. Their prices were higher than a couple contractors we considered, but the materials were far superior. We are so thankful we chose J R Luxury Bath for our project, and would strongly recommend them.

Monarch Carpet One Floor & Home
The sales rep (Lou) was very supportive. We were looking for a specific brand of flooring (Verostone) that is only available at Armstrong Carpet One stores. He helped us with samples to evaluate in home. He also patiently supported us in our deliberations on the flooring including color selections and installation method. The price was competitive. The work team was very much a refreshing change. Dave Jeffers did excellent work and treated our home and belongings with extreme care. The work crew was on time and polite. We are very happy with their work.

Showed up on time for bid appointment took up an hour of my time said he would get bid back to me within 10 days......never got a bid, emailed, he said he would follow up. "His secretary was off"; next excuse "I'll have to see where that went", next excuse 4 weeks later after I called and asked again where it was....oh I'll send it now. He never sent - I talked with him told him not to bother 6 weeks later. Finally sends after my agitation, he's $20K higher than others.DO NOT USE THEM.

It went wonderful. They where conscious of every detail no matter the time it took to do. Great finished job! Have gotten many complements on the work. The staff and company were great to work with and questions handled right away. Couldn't be happier, would hire again.

Well I looked at the reviews on Angie's list and felt he might be a good fit for my project. I guess I will never know. I called on July 27 and asked for an appointment to get an estimate. I was told it wouldn't happen until August 9 th. I wanted it earlier but I figured he might be worth the wait. I was called on August 8 th to be reminded of my appointment. I said I would be there. The appointment was for 1000 am. 1000am comes and goes. 1020 am I call the office and leave voice mail. I get a return call at 1110 am saying he had a family emergency and he was sorry could he come over tomorrow. I said ok. He said how does 900 am sound? I said ok see you then. Well it's 940 am now and no call no show! How does this guy stay in business???!! I have seen other people with the same problem. I like to give jobs to local people but ones that at least show up for their appointments!
