  • Everything went fine. The exam was professional, the eye doc was friendly and the staff helped me pick out an excellent pair of frames. When I moved out of Lakewood a little further west I continued to use this practice at the Westlake location.

  • My family has been going to Fairview Eye Center for many, many years. We are very happy with the Doctors there. My children and I see Dr. Krebs. She is extremely thorough. She also performed my mom's cataract surgery a couple of years ago. Just plan on being in the office for a while. It is a very busy practice with several doctors. Also, it takes extra time when your eyes have to be dilated.

  • After a very extensive examination and description of the process, I was fitted for contacts for a day to see if this is the vision correction I would be interested in. It was all very informative. The staff involved were very professional.
But, after the costs was discussed, I wanted to think about it. It would cost me over $3,000. And that is not covered by insurance because it is considered to be a cosmetic procedure. Ultimately I decided that at my age, it wasn't worth the investment for me, and I could put that money to better use. Maybe if I was 10 years younger, I might have done it

  • The nurse/technician who helped me at my appointment was extremely friendly and thorough in the pre-exam, and in explaining everything that was happening, and why. She made me as comfortable as possible during the dilation period, and during my wait for the doctor.
Dr. Lavery herself is so friendly, it's like talking to a sweet aunt, but an aunt who knows her stuff about your eyes. She was very thorough in her examination, ruling out all the possibilities before determining my eyes were healthy and just needed to recover from the trauma of my head injury. While there was quite a long wait in between the pre-exam and exam, the doctor took just as much time with me as she did with the person before me. She never made me feel rushed, as some doctors do when they're running behind. I felt that I had her full attention while she was with me, as she thoroughly explained everything and answered all my questions.
Given her extraordinary bedside manner and gentle demeanor, as well as her expertise, I'm sure she would be excellent with children and older patients as well.

  • It was good. The staff was friendly and efficient. I was able to get in and out fairly quickly. The only thing I would note is that they do not give any reversal drops. So, it does take a few hours for you to be able to see close objects after your appointment.

  • He got me in the very same day I called about the eye pain, so he's an extremely caring doctor. He is actually seeing all of my granddaughters at this point which is great because he's had a view of all of us now. My other optometrist never knew I had macular degeneration and he discovered it. I'm diabetic so consequently, I go to see him yearly. He really remembers me because I bring my granddaughters in and always lets me know I can call him any time. He's very good that way and I highly recommend him. I like my old optometrist, but I feel Dr. Kershaw is a little more on top of things.

  • We needed Dr. Craven for our toddler son. The office desk staff was rather stand-offish and made us stand at the glass window for a lengthy time before even acknowledging us. However, the nurse that took us back was wonderful -- she was very friendly and made us comfortable. The Dr. came in and did his job; he was quick and efficient, but impersonal. The payment set-up irritated me, as they do not accept credit/debit cards or flex spending account cards and instead require checks or exact cash. I no longer deal with checks and rarely have cash and instead just use my flex/debit card for medical purposes. I had to deal with this issue twice--once at the appointment and a second time after insurance went through and a small amount needed to be covered by us. For this reason, as well as the unfriendly office staff, it is unlikely that I would choose to visit this office again.

  • Dr. Kershaw has a very good bed side manner. He is very good about handling his examinations. He is very personable and always gives me a lot of good information and feedback during my appointments. He has a very nice office.

  • The examination went well; however, the office staff mis-coded the exam and refused to change it. As such, I had to pay for my entire exam out-of-pocket (even though if it had been coded properly, my insurance would have covered most of it). The staff is not friendly or helpful; however, the doctor is very good.

  • He found a minor tear in my retina. He made me aware of a rare form of glaucoma he found. It is not an emergency right now, but he always lets me know about this so I keep myself aware of it. The staff is pleasant and makes you feel comfortable. Dr. Craven is professional, pleasant and extremely thorough. His explanations you can understand, he never talks down to you and he never alarms you.
