Irrigation System reviews in New Albany

    AK Irrigation
This company seems to prefer new installations for which they offer 5 years of warranty. The initial installation of the irrigation system went OK for which i paid them $2850.00 without blinking. Now, when it comes to support and servicing their own installation, AK Irrigation is nowhere to be found. Granted, my system was damaged by the city which removed a tree that messed up a sidewalk. I called to ask AK Irrigation if they can repair what was damaged by the city workers and they are not responsive at all. They said that will come to me next year. Not happy at all.

As always, everything about working with Absolute Irrigation was perfect. We've been working with Robert and his team for about 9 years. Without a doubt, they are our #1 home service provider regardless of category. We have an annual "silver" contract with Absolute Irrigation that includes the spring turn on, winterization, and backflow testing. Upon arriving for the spring turn on and backflow testing, Absolute Irrigation noticed some broken fittings with our backflow. Robert and his team quickly worked to repair the backflow, turn on our system and replace a couple of damaged sprinkler heads. I wish all of our home service providers would be as good as Absolute Irrigation. I cannot recommend them enough.

Rain One Irrigation & Drainage Systems
Rain One repaired our system, heads, etc in the fall of 2017. During the start up this Spring, somehow the heads, fittings, leaks, etc needed to be fixed again. If you don't like to pay for things to be "fixed" again and again, I would use another company. Tried to call the office to question the repairs and compare to the previous invoice, but no one will call back. Sent emails as well without a response.

They turned on the irrigation system and supposedly did a system check. Two weeks later the sprinkler system wasn't working so I kept the original appointment with the competitor. The technician replaced a valve, discovered a sprinkler head that had been blacktopped over and reset the sprinkler head angles to achieve maximum spray coverage - all things that should have been caught by AK when they did their system check. Next spring when I need my sprinklers turned on I will wait the extra time to avoid have AK at my house.

This was the best company to work with. I had an appointment with an another company that did not show up. I called AK Irrigation on Monday morning at 9am to set up an appointment. They scheduled me for the same day at 1pm. I will use AK Irrigation in the future. I am so happy I found a reliable & customer friendly company.

Rain One Irrigation & Drainage Systems
Terrible. They gave me a window of time said I was not there and they tried to call me. I received no call on any of my phones, no email, no text, no note on my door saying they had been there. When I called the office the next, they did not seem to care that my appointment was missed. This is the 2nd time I had terrible customer service with Rain One. I would never recommend them as a company. There are much better irrigation companies near my home.

Great company to work with. Robert and his team provide great service and he was very helpful in designing our irrigation system to limit the amount of hard surface watering (sidewalks, street, drive-way, etc), which is a huge pet peeve of mine when I see other irrigation companies work.

    Pitzer Landscaping
Norm communicated with us on every step of the project. He gave us detailed information about how much we needed to water and what we needed to do to maintain our beautiful yard. Norm and his employees came back several times throughout the summer to replant seed, fertilize and irrigate. He followed up constantly to make sure the grass was growing well and we weren't getting any flooding. In just less than a year our yard is absolutely stunning! We have thick bright green grass and gorgeous mulch beds.

    Green Touch Irrigation
Disappointing.  Our experience started out fine with Green Touch for our first 3 routine service calls.  We called them out a couple weeks ago for the 4th time to troubleshoot a leak.  Our valve box in our yard (which houses 3 valves) was filled with water.  The technician was at our home for the 2:30 p.m. appointment when my wife got home from work at 2:20 p.m.  He said he already looked at the valves, they were old and all 3 needed replaced.  My wife asked which valve specifically was leaking so we could decide whether to replace them all or just the leaky one.  He could not tell her and insisted the proper course of action was to replace all 3.  We can appreciate a recommendation but feel we should have the option to make that decision ourselves.  After spending no more than 5 minutes with my wife he left her with a quote for $300 for the repair. (We will spare you the details of the extreme lack of customer service and rude demeanor from this specific technician.) A week or so later we received an invoice for a $20 service fee.  This seemed odd because at our last 3 appointments we were presented with an invoice on the spot and we paid the technician the same day with a check.  We assumed because the technician spent only a few minutes and no work was performed we were not being charged- we have no problem with paying a service fee for a visit, but this seemed off to us.   Especially because he never pin pointed the source of the leak which was the entire reason for the call out. We contacted Jessie in the office to express our disaapointment with the visit, the lack of professionalism from the technician and the fact that we still don?t know where the leak is coming from.  We told her we would happily pay their service fee once they could tell us where our leak was coming fom.  Instead of hearing our side of the situation she responded by sticking up for their technician and going on and on about how knowledgable he is, how well liked he is, and agreeing with him that old valves do often need replaced.  She never grasped that he did not complete what we asked him to do- troubleshoot a leak. Only after we informed Green Touch that we would look to use a different company did Jessie offer to send the owner of the company (her husband) out to troubleshoot.  Way too late- that should have been offered after our first contact to notify her the leak was never assessed- not 3 emails later. (Even more frustrating- she offered in her last email to look into installing a master valve to prolong the life of our other valves and cut the cost of the repair.  If this was an option, why were we not told about this at our appointment? Or in her first response to us?) We called out a 2nd company who found the source of the leak and replaced the part for a third of the price Green Touch had quoted.  We are happily working with this new company and we are paying the service fee (for a service that was never performed) to Green Touch simply to be done with them.

UPDATE: As of 9/13/15: The office manager took care of our issues and refunded us the $20.00 service fee that was in question.

    AK Irrigation
This year they came on time in May 5,2015 to turn-on my system, after they cancel the first appointment the same day (no problem, everybody has emergencies). The guy who came told me I need to replace 10 rotors and fix a line. This last line it is the same one that they fixed last year. Anyway he told me he would speak with his people at the office to absorb the cost for this one and that they would call me back to schedule the appointment to repair these issues. I had to call them on May 30 to see why they did not call me yet. Now they say they are not available to fix it until June 9. In the mean time my yard starts to suffer the consequences. I am very disappointed because I trusted them. I do see lack of professionalism here. I paid in advance in January for two services this year. Now I do not have option, I need to wait for them.
