AWe had a 20-year old large brick patio that was in tough shape, along with several flower beds that also needed a lot of work. We received a couple of quotes from other landscapers before Steve came out to provide a quote. Steve stood out immediately with his professionalism and vision on how to improve the patio and landscaping with a budget focus in mind. The cost of replacing the brick patio with new pavers would have increased the cost of fixing the patio exponentially. Steve assured us that he could re-use our bricks and make the patio look like new. The patio bricks were faded, covered with moss, and had tons of weeds in between. After Steve and crew finished the job, he was right, the patio does look like new. Steve's suggestions also helped improve on the original patio design. There was a narrow 12" flower bed between the sunroom and patio wrapping around it. When it rained it caused soil to flow onto the patio making it difficult to keep clean. Steve suggested moving the patio right up to the foundation, effectively eliminating the flower bed. It looks great and solved a problem. The patio was in such a state of disrepair the past few years that we didn't enjoy using it. Now we can't wait to go out there when the weather allows. Steve also gave great landscaping suggestions to improve the flower beds around the patio and in front of our house. We really appreciate how Steve patiently described various plant and shrub options based on descriptions of what we were looking for. His knowledge of what plants work well in areas with less sunlight, or how different plants look together based on shape and color was invaluable. Overall, Steve and crew deserve an A+ for the transformation of our patio and flower beds. We couldn't be happier.- ELENA W.

AQuality Yard and Home Maintenance Service did a wonderful job with my lawn this summer. I had 3 huge areas of overgrown weeds in my yard. I called Quality and Jeremy came out and walked my property. He wrote down quotes of everything I was wanting done. I agreed and signed the paper. Within a few weeks, they were out to start the work. It was going to take three treatments and then tilling the yard where the weeds had been. The gentleman who came to my door was very professional and explained they were starting the job. On the third visit, they were at my house for 3-4 hours. All of the people working for Quality were hard-working and respectful. It was a hot day, so I kept bringing water out to them men as they were working so hard. When they were finished, my yard looked amazing. I didn’t believe we could get it looking that well, but Quallty did it. They took pride in what they were doing and didn’t leave until everything was perfect! I found the experience of using Quality Lawn Service easy. The person answering the phone is pleasant and makes sure your message get to the right people. They plan the job, and you don’ t have any worries. They take care of everything. I found all the people that work for them to be professional and hard working. I could not be more pleased with my experience with Quality Yard Home and Maintenance.- Cindy W.

CAfter talking with the owner it took another month to have the lawn care person contact me. They came out on a Sunday morning, three days late due to lots of rain, no big deal. It was going to be $45 a man hour, seemed a little high. There were WAY too many people here when we got home from church, the yard looked great but I was concerned with all those people what it would cost. The total bill is nearly $600, more than twice what I would have expected. I will NEVER use them again. Last year we used another company and it didn't top $300 for two cleanups.- Laura W.

DThis company seems to prefer new installations for which they offer 5 years of warranty. The initial installation of the irrigation system went OK for which i paid them $2850.00 without blinking. Now, when it comes to support and servicing their own installation, AK Irrigation is nowhere to be found. Granted, my system was damaged by the city which removed a tree that messed up a sidewalk. I called to ask AK Irrigation if they can repair what was damaged by the city workers and they are not responsive at all. They said that will come to me next year. Not happy at all.- Kiril A.

FEntered my info on their website to get pricing. 30 mins later got a call from a Trugreen lady. She asked me two questions. I said I was looking for pricing. And then she abruptly hung up on me for some reason, and didnt call me back. Pretty rude.- Dirwin C.

AThe price was reasonable for the work performed and was done well. Yard looks beautiful. They were busy, so scheduling was about 6 weeks out from when I called. They responded timely to the voicemail I left to request a quote.- CYNTHIA F.

AThey arrived at the time agreed and went to work. I had forgotten one bush that needed to be trimmed and they kindly agreed to add it to the work at a small extra cost. They missed a couple of branches that were going into our neighbors property but sent the crew back as soon as that was brought to their attention. The following day we found some branches on a cherry tree infested with some type of worm nests or webs, which they missed as well, but we just went ahead and trimmed them ourselves. Other than that they were thorough.- ELENA W.

FPoor customer service and does not return calls or show up for appointments. The first time I used them they were okay but it is the second time they treated their customers badly. As if they do not need the repeat business at all or don't care....- LATASHA P.

AJoel (the owner) came out and reviewed our needs, property line, potential layout, and subsequently created two diagrams with potential layouts for our review. He, also, provided us with estimates for the costs associated with various options.- Alexander K.

FI recently called Charter Oaks to request an estimate to have DEAD trees removed and stumps ground out in my BACK yard. I was not home when they came out to do the estimate. I received a hand-written document describing the work and the cost, to which I gave a verbal go-ahead. A utility-locating service then came out and marked utility lines in the BACK yard with red flags. A few days later, I looked out the window to discover Charter Oaks was in my SIDE yard (a neighborhood tree lawn, one with no red flags) cutting down four of my LIVE, beautiful, healthy, 20-year-old maple trees in an area nowhere near the dead trees we had discussed. These trees were flanking the entrance to an entire neighborhood in New Albany and as any reputable tree service in this area knows, are not to be altered. No one ever came to my door to let me know they were at my home (at 8 a.m.) to cut down the trees, nor did I have any advance notice they were coming so I had no opportunity to meet anyone before the actual work began. When I called Charter Oaks to let them know what happened, I was told they were very sorry and would do everything they could to make things right. Following that, I spent 10 days calling, emailing, and texting them to determine next steps. I received one email from them that said they would not charge me for the work on the original contract and that they would come back and do it as planned. After that, they would not return my calls, emails, or texts, nor would they meet with me in spite of repeated requests to determine a mutually agreeable solution. When I finally did speak with them, I was told that I would need to pay for them to come out and do the work that they had previously offered to do for free. They denied having made such an offer, even though I had it in writing, and refused to repair the damage they caused. As another reviewer has said, they lacked any commitment to follow through and customer service, and behaved in a pathological manner, refusing to speak with me or take any responsibility for the situation whatsoever. Under no circumstance would I ever allow them near my property for any type of tree service again.- Suzanne S.
