    I had an emergency situation when my refrigerator broke down 2 days before I was leaving the state for an extended trip. I called A-1 Appliance Repair on a Monday morning and they worked me into their schedule later that day, between other appointments. They got the refrigerator working again in one day and their price was reasonable considering the price and the quick service.

    The first visit was one week after the initial call. A new electronics unit took a week to get and install. The problem returned in a few days. The second visit by the same technician had the same result. He put a new electronics in the ice maker again. The problem returned again. For the third trip they sent a different person who told us ice was getting caught between the ice bin and a metal rod that is supposed to be lifted only when the bin is full. He adjusted the wire and said he would order a part to help prevent this, Follow-up a few weeks later resulted in the company saying they had no record of the third visit or a part for our unit. We have learned how to open the ice bin and remove blockage when it occurrs. This company needs to update it's operation; get a computer and learn how to use it to improve customer service.

    Everything went great. Bill, the owner of BJ Appliance is very kind, knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. He quickly and confidently diagnosed the problem and determined that the seal needed to be replaced to resolve the problem. The work was completed for a very fair and reasonable price. We have also used Bill previously for other appliance repair work in our home. He has always done an excellent job and backs up his work with a one year labor warranty. Bill has been our go to business for appliance repairs and we would not hesitate to recommend him highly to any others seeking appliance repair services.

    It was a foolishly simple problem... the timer knob had broken (which is needed to turn power on) but it wasn't apparent until Bill pulled it off. Although he did not carry a replacement part, he improvised a repair that will hold until I get a replacement. He was very helpful and only charged for a service call.

    We had completed remodeling our kitchen and contractor reinstalled our dishwasher. It seemed to operate OK but we discovered it was not draining correctly. Repairman was very knowledgeable. He found right away that it was not properly reinstalled and made the necessary corrections, did routine service and test, and it's working great.

    Great! I called some other companies who could not come out for a few days. Shavitz was able to schedule me for that night. Even though I had to pay extra for a night and weekend rate, the technician found that it was one simple part that needed replacement. So the overall repair was very inexpensive, and they did not take advantage of the situation. They even left me with some ideas about what I could do in the future to extend the life of my unit. Very ethical and competent company. They are now my go-to HVAC company.

    It did not go well at all. I had a claim on my refrigerator for 4 months and it still is not fixed. The first company they sent out was more of a HVAC company. They did not fix it and a second company was sent out. They could not fix it. If they would have condemned it the first time, I could have had my fridge replaced. They have spent about $1000 on parts, labor and service calls so far and it still did not work. They will not reimburse me for the full amount of the fridge now because of their previous costs. I am not happy with this service provider at all.

    Excellent! I called Chuck and left a message as he requests on his page. He called me back within 10 minutes. I explained what was going on with the dryer and he told me he thought something was caught due to the lint filter being out during a cycle. He was right, looking more closely I could see a sock wedged in the corner by the lint filter. Chuck suggested I try a wire hanger and see if I could pull the sock out on my own. I tried but was unable to get the sock out. I called Chuck back and he said he would have to come and take the front off the dryer to remove the sock. He was able to be at my house within an hour. He took the dryer apart, got the sock out (we cleaned out all the excess lint too), and put the dryer back together. It worked perfectly. Chuck told me he is "semi-retired" so he works only for himself. His price was extremely reasonable, most other companies charge almost double to walk in the door, and he was available the same day, other companies I called said next day or two days to schedule. Most importantly, he diagnosed the problem correctly and was able to solve it. I also appreciated very much that he tried to help me solve the problem on my own over the phone first! I don't think many other people would have done that. Thank you Chuck! I would definitely use again and recommend to others.

    Northwest Appliance repair came to replace the exhaust fan of our Jenn Air stove June 15, 2016 and the repair person needed to try t2 different fan parts due to both fan replacements malfunctioning. Fan would cut out after running approximately 15 minutes of running time or less. After not being able to repair the problem, the technician said he would speak to his boss... We never heard back from Northwest Appliance repair and feeling frustrated we made an arbitration request on Angies List, whom we found this appliance repair company. Shortly after making this request we heard from the owner of Northwest Appliance, Mr Short, who called to make an appointment to review our problem with the Jenn Air Stove fan. Mr Short came out to our home and said the same statement told to us by the technician, that these fans are built to shut off after a certain amount of use as a precaution. This is an unacceptable response. We have owned our home for approximately 16 years and it was built in 1990. This Jenn Air stove is the original stove of house which was built in 1990 and was on the Parade of Homes. Other than the stove fan wearing out, we have never had a problem with this stove fan cutting out and turning off after 15 minutes of cooking use. I have owned several higher end stoves over the years of being a homeowner and have never heard of an exhaust cooking fan not being able to run for 10 or 15 minutes without having to shut itself off so as not to burn itself out. Does this make sense to any other cooking consumers? The owner of Northwest Appliance left saying he would do some checking around for a better fan or perhaps a reconditioned part and to give him a week or two and he would call us. So that was August 5th and it is September 11th and we have not heard back from Northwest Appliance Repair. I am a business owner of 20 yrs and when I tell a client I will complete a task I make it my duty to fulfill the said task and communicate with my client with regards to their problem to keep them in the loop and not feel as if they were abandoned or their problem didn't matter. It would not make sense business wise...This is where we are now... We paid Northwest Appliance Repair $600 to fix our Jenn Air Stove fan and we still are unable to cook in our home without creating excessive smoke and our smoke alarms going off in our home. It has been approximately 6 weeks and we still have not heard back from Mr Short, the owner of Northwest Appliance Repair. I feel abandoned as a customer and have lost faith in their service as an appliance repair business. This is unfortunate as we have given them significant prior business in repairing our LG washing machine and Maytag drier. I would feel satisfied if we received some financial compensation so that we could hire another Appliance Repair service to fix our Jenn Air stove fan. Unfortunately we will no longer be able rely on the Northwest appliance repair company for our future needs. Byer beware... Dr Weiss

    I called Jim Thompson in the morning and he was out in the afternoon to fix our refrigerator. He quickly found the cause of our problem, a bad relay overload, and fixed it with a much better compressor kit, that included the start, relay and overload. He also cleaned the dust out the coils under the refrigerator for us. He explained what he was doing each step of the way, and now our freezer is running perfectly, and quietly.
