I would consider very carefully before using this so called contractor. I hired him to frame my house (he stated he could do it), and needless to say after 8 weeks 5 missed deadlines, I let him go. His work ethic is horrible, stated out with 5 guys and only working from 930ish am to 3 pm a week later had 4 guys and still only working 930ish to 3 pm. I say something and it changes to 830ish/9 to 4 pm and then down to 3 guys. Kept running out of nails and leaving early, would run out of material and not tell me, I would find out when I asked why they started framing walls when the decking wasnt done. If it rained they would pack up and leave when it was only a quick shower and then the rest of the day would be gorgeous, there were several times they didnt show up, but didnt make up the time on the weekends. I questioned a couple things and he assured me they would be fine or he would fix, but never did. Once I let him go, I had 5 other builders/framers come out to give me an estimate on how much to finish and they all stated it needed to be torn down, it was not safe. As the new builder was tearing down they found so much that was wrong (things not nailed together or down, other things way over nailed. I was there the day they starting pulling up the decking and videotaped it. None of the decking was glued down and some boards only had a few nails in them and others had a bunch of nails but only on one or two sides. What was one of the worse things is that they were using the Skytrak to pull up the boards and as they were pulling them up the floor joist were coming up with the deck boards, they did not nail the floor joist down, some were falling down into the basement. The beam was uneven, not level, and bowed, it was 6 inches from where it should have been, there was no bean where there should have been a beam and with the weight of the walls and roof the two by tens they used were bowing. They notched out a smaller beam in two places. It is a walk out basement and where the framed wall meets the block on the side it was not anchored, no nails nothing. The house could have come down on me and my family at any time. He blamed the weather, the blue prints (which were fine) and of course the block guy and yes the block guy did not square it very good, he was off several inches in a couple places but the new framer was able to frame it correctly and get the trusses on correctly. Due to the cost of hiring someone to tear it down, rebuild and additional lumber, I am out $40,000.00 and cannot finish my house. I had to get another loan just to pay for the leech bed and sewer lines. I am running water lines, hung my ceiling drywall and will not have any money to drywall the walls, no lighting fixtures, no flooring, no appliances, no plumbing fixtures etc. A report was filed with the AGs office, BBB and 6 On Your Side. I consulted a lawyer and deciding on whether to file suit or not (cost is the biggest as every dime I make needs to go into the house), plus I will win but will more than likely never see a dime. It went well. They were prompt. The man came at the end of the day and stayed past his 'off' hour. He was courteous, informative, worked quickly, answered all my questions and provided me with info of the new doors they carry. I will definitely use this company again.

    Christopher Brown Cement LLC
Christopher and his team were excellent! His estimate was a great price compared to other estimates. More than that, however, was ability to craft a compelling narrative around the work. The detailed description of what was need combined with the story of his experiences and history around the business made it clear without a doubt that he wanted the work and it would be done well. He did. And it was. In short, he said what he was going to do and then did what he said. The work is solid; the finish is great. It's beautiful work.

    Elite Fence
I have had 20 plus years of Real Estate experience and my husband owned a Cadillac dealership, so I will say we BOTH know what "customer service" should be in this day and age of doing business.
With that being said we both decided to fence in a very LARGE yard and we decided to contact at least 8 fence companies. Now,  out of the 8 contacted 2 did not even return our calls. The other 6 were DOUBLE what this company Elite Fence charged, and when I asked him why, Skip, the owner told me he does not "mark up all his materials".
I personally think these other fellows were marking up not only the materials 100% but also their labor 100% because we had "quotes" of $2600.00 to $5,000.00 HIGHER than Elite Fencing.
This provider is the most HONEST and hardworking fellow I have ever had any service contact with.  He kept us informed each day as to when materials arrived, if he was running a few minutes late  ( coming from 40 min away ) he would let me know via text, he was polite, hardworking, knowledgeable and rarely took a break.  He is a two man team, and his partner Austin is a very very hardworking young man also.
I just can not express my gratitude for the job that they achieved on installing our fence in a very timely manner and the fact that I would highly recommend these fellows to anyone.

Don't waste your time getting "quotes" with others like we did, they had install dates of 4-6 weeks "wait time"....and I had my fence installed by Elite for half the price completely done within 12 days!
    Thanks again Skip and Austin!
    Kudos to both of you!

Miller Brothers did a fantastic job at our home. They performed the job above all our expectations. They were very professional and extremely helpful. They were punctual and completed the project ahead of schedule. Nate and his crew answered all our questions and kept in contact during the process to ensure we were happy. We found them to be well rounded contractors, and reasonably priced. The workmanship is high quality! We will certainly use Miller Brothers again in the near future!

    Willy's Custom Concrete
Back assessing my latest project--a long awaited driveway. My garage was built about 10 years ago and was sorely lacking an apron, let alone a formal driveway, so I decided to go for it and got estimates and went with Willy's Custom Concrete a local here in Knox County. It's a small operation; kind of a small operation where the boss does a lot of the work himself and oversees just about every job personally with a small crew. They poured my drive in three stages at my request because I wanted to pay for the work done as I had the money vs. seeking a home improvement loan. They were willing to approach it this way. First stage was an apron about 16' x 22' by 6" thick. Then a few weeks later the remaining stretch to the edge of my road and then a while later the "turn around" portion which was another slab about the size of the apron. The last two stages were a more usual 4' thick as six inches is not common for residential driveways but I wanted a little more "umph" where the drive would get the most use and abuse. The final part of the work was removing the remainder of the old half-circle gravel drive which involved excavating and removing about 6" of packed limestone and filler/base material and filling with topsoil, grading it so it was ready for seed. Concrete and grading all looked great when done! On the plus side, they work quickly and are good at coordinating different jobs so they didn't leave things hanging for days or weeks wandering in and out when they had time between bigger jobs. The owner was great about calling back, giving instructions for how to care for the concrete, and dos and don't s. We consulted about how to lay things out ahead of time, etc. Not uncommon in my area is the fact that he works on a hand shake and his reputation (which is very good) in our area precedes him--even his competitors say he does good work. If you aren't comfortable with that arrangement then that can be a minus. It depends on how you feel and your level of trust but each stage of my project was a separate transaction and each one went smoothly. Also, he didn't accept payment until the work was completed vs. asking for a deposit up front. You have to go with your gut on some of these situations and mine said "ok" but trust your own and research. He said he doesn't do stamped concrete or some of the fancier techniques. He sticks mainly to the basics but for me basic was fine and I was happy with my outcome. Time was a factor in selecting Willy's Custom Concrete. His prices were roughly the same as for other companies but for work I needed done he was available and it just worked out. For the driveway I requested a "broomed" finish with a smooth bordered edge around the perimeter. They sawed the necessary expansion joints and sealed it as he said he would. His crew was attentive to detail although the younger assistant, who wasn't too long out of high school, was still learning the ropes and his coworkers explained things to him as they went. I enjoyed seeing this mentoring happening during my job. Willy's Custom Concrete may fill the bill for you if you are comfortable with his style. I have received numerous compliments from my neighbors and the completed drive does improve the appearance of my home immensely. Overall experience was very good.

    Extreme Seal Coating & Paving
Everytime we have called to get the payment that was due at time of service, Mr. Wanko lies by saying that he mailed it.  It has been very hard as we count on getting paid to put fuel in our semi.  When we get cheated, it makes it difficult to keep the truck running.

The person who was sent out from Vernon Overhead Door Company was very quick. He solved the problem in less than five minutes and fixed it. He was out of here in less than fifteen minutes. He knew exactly what he was doing. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.
