Chimney Cap Repair reviews in Montgomery

It went very well.  The technician was very professional and thorough.  The site was left clean as a pin.

Some maintenance recommendations were made and put in writing with a quote.

They inspected the entire roof, resealed flashing, blew leaves off and with time left pro-actively identified that my chimney cap needed sealing.  I knew it wasn't in great shape and bricks were starting to crack below the cap, so for no extra charge they came back on a dry day and sealed the chimney cap.  I asked if they would remove a light fixture globe under the roof overhang that aleays filled with water when it rained and they did.  They inspected that area for damage/rot and found none so I'm not sure how water traveled into the light fixture.  They did a great job, knew their stuff and were extremenly professional and pleasant.  I would definitely use them again!

The service was great - very prompt response and professional. We appreciated the time that was taken to explain the problem to us and the variety of solutions presented to help us understand all the options available within our budget. We would absolutely use them again.

The initial estimate went well, a good set of choices of materials were offered and the plan presented was reasonable. On the day the work was supposed to start, it was raining lightly, so I called their offices repeatedly to see if they were still coming, but never reached anyone for several hours. Two hours after they were supposed to start, their foreman (?) stopped by to tell me that "obviously" they weren't going to work that that day. I explained that I had taken the morning off work to wait for them and I had been calling his cell phone, but he had no explanation for not returning my calls. We rescheduled for the following week, and with better weather they got started about a half hour late. The demolition went well, but I found that the roof around the chimney needed replacement too, and since their work included top flashing, I needed to work around them to get the roof replaced so the top flashing could go over top of it. The workers were helpful and supportive of me as I worked around their efforts, and they delayed the top flashing a bit to let me lay shingle and get the roof ready. The rebuild of the chimney generally went well and the brickwork looked really good from three sides, but there was a small but noticeable bulge spanning 5 or 6 courses on the side facing the roof. The new crown was nicely done and sealed, though it took them a week or so to get in a cap of the right size. I had to remind them to tuckpoint the firebox, which they did at the end in a bit of a rush, more as an afterthought and only around a few bricks. A few months later I noticed a small amount of rainwater leaking in around the joint between the chimney and the roof, but I have not yet been able to determine the exact source of the leak.

Very easy process..we bought the special on Angie's list. A Rep from Bone Dry made a call to assess what we needed, a reasonable estimate was given, we agreed done in a timely fashion. We were very pleased with everything from start to finish.

Rick quickly understood my issues, offered several alternatives with pricing. I selected one which was a partial rebuild with new cap. His work was done in a professional manner and looks great. He cleaned up the area and came back later to see if my needs have been met. I was a bit concerned as he was less expensive than other, but is suspect his overhead is lower but the work is first class

During Thanksgiving we had a big, long rain. By the weekend, we realized we had a leak coming from our roof and/or chimney. After contacting roofers, they recommended we call Bruce Ryan because of the scaffolding required to repair our chimney as well as the quality of his work. I contacted Bruce that afternoon and within a couple of days he started work. Bruce Ryan and his crew did an excellent job of repairing our chimney. The old and new areas of the chimney blend seamlessly. It looks like we have a new chimney. They were prompt, personable and professional. I would recommend Bruce Ryan to others.

He arrived over an hour late for an early evening scheduled appointment, so it was dark when he arrived. I was shocked when I received his estimate. On my own, I had contacted two other reputable companies for estimates. Charlie's Chimney was the last estimate received and it was $1,000 to $1400 higher than the other estimates. He knew that we were negotiating the repairs for the sale of the house. He met with the buyer's Realtor at the house for the estimate. I found the whole experience to be suspect and unprofessional. I'm very surprised that the Realtor would list them as a preferred service contractor. Hmmmm.

I got three estimates for this work and Karl Mattes was right in the middle. Their estimate was the most detailed and they noted a couple of issues that one of the other companies had not found. Plus, they explained how the work would be done before leaving. One of the other estimators just left and didn't even tell me he was going! I just had confidence that Karl Mattes knew what they were doing. I haven't been up on the roof to see what they did for myself but what I can see from the ground looks good (for example, the chimney flashing). I have confidence that they did everything they said they would and I wouldn't hesitate to call them for roof work again.

Job went very well. They showed up when they said they would and cleaned up when they left. I was concerned about getting a good match on the mortar color, so they called me and let me see it before starting the tuckpointing. I think they did an excellent job matching the color and the quality of the work overall was excellent. Final cost was the same as the estimate, and it was about 1/2 what another company quoted.
