    The Finished Basement
It went extremely well. Both the owner Walley and Matt the operations manager were very responsive. We had never had this much work done so we understandably had a ton of questions throughout the project. They were very patient and tried to answer our questions over the phone on the first call and sometimes would come out to answer in person. The quality of work is very high throughout - cutout windows, framing, dry wall, vinyl flooring, fixtures, downstairs bathroom, painting etc. Some of this could be credited to their lead carpenter Tommy who is as much of a perfectionist and as highly skilled as I've ever seen, which is exactly what we were hoping for. If had I had to throw out a nit to pick the only thing I can mention is the job took longer than we had hoped. We were hoping for 6 weeks but it ended up taking around 11 weeks. But given the size of the basement we had them finish and the quality of the finished product I can't complain. I would rather have it done right and look as good as it does than have it done quicker and have corners cut. The bottom line is that we couldn't be happier with the finished product and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

    Affordable 24/7 Service
not good - had to return 6 days later and unclog the drain for the same issue (roots in line) - tried to tell me that the roots grew back this fast. Fact is that they never got all the roots out the first time. The plumber told me that he ran a larger spring through the second time which is why he got more roots. The real question would be why he didn't run the larger spring through the first time and did the job correctly. When I called them back I was led to believe that the call back would be free. The plumber also told me before he left the first time that if we had any more problems to call back and they would come back out and make it right. After the second call they billed my an additional $129.00. The plumber gave me a discount on the bill for $25.00 (which was stated on the bill) but they still charged me the full amount of $129.00. The plumber also cussed at my wife for accidentally flushing a commode. The company assumed no responsibility for having to come back a second time, 6 days later. The plumber also lied on the bill saying he pulled out a softball size root ball when in fact in was about the size of a golf ball if they were wadded up together, which they were not. Immediately upon calling them and complaining, they told me that their lawyer would have to make the decision whether or not to waive the charge on the call back. I used them originally because they were cheaper but in the end they cost me just as much and I had to clean up the floor in the basement again. Will never use their service again

    Pete the Plumber
Several days after the job was complete, the problem returned but not as severe. I called them and was told I would need a camera run in the pipe to check for damage. I asked if the crew had doen as we requested andf I was told they did on a call back. My strong impression is that the owner stood by their word. I called anothe company out to do the same work without them knowing it had already been done days earlier. I was told they found small root congestion at 25 feet, than at 50 feet, than a large mass at about 80 feet. It has been a month now and the probl;em is solved. I have no alternative but to conclude that Pete the Plumber's crew did not do the work properly so we paid another $200 to have it done properly by a company that spent more time clearing a pipe that suppposedly had been cleared days sooner....and they went the full 100 feet as requested by us.

    Tarvin Plumbing
Each of the three jobs that were performed, were done with excellence by a man named Jim. he was thorough, professional, and didn't waste  a minute. I could have paid less and had someone else do the work, but I had tried this in the past with other local "Handymen", and plumbers who  did not do the the work correctly.
Bottom line: If I had Tarvin do it all the first time, it would have been a lot less money. Also, I will definitely consider them for future projects, and I want to send out Kudos to Jim. He is an outstanding representative for their company.

    Millennium Plumbing
Rod showed up right on time.  He was very personable, professional and faced the challenge head on.  The new water softener was slightly larger than the one to be replaced.  Rod needed additional parts to complete the job.  He made it seem like it was an insignificant deal to have to go to a store to get the additional parts to complete the job.  He completed the work, including the unexpected trip to a store, in approximately 3 1/2 hours.  He cleaned up after himself and took the time to explain the new water softener to us.

We were pleased with him. The service call is about $70 but what he actually charged to do was less. His price seems a little expensive to me. He has been our family plumber for a long time. He always comes when he says he will. He is not always that easy to schedule at times. If he gives me a window then he will be there in that window for sure but that window may not be there as soon as I like.

We were pleased with him. It went great. We weren’t here when he did it so we didn’t meet him. We talked to him on his phone in the office. He emailed our bill. He did find a problem with the filter. He met the realtor who had the key to get in.

The situation was unfortunate, but Kevin was more than helpful and professional! He had to come back three times to complete the job, it included demo to reach the pipes, and we're very pleased with the work!

The installation can be described in two words: Expertly Done.  This was my first use of Angie's List to find a craftsman and it was an outstanding experience.  I called Jerry as well as several other businesses who installed backup sump pumps.  With all but Jerry, I had to leave my phone number which is always a problem because the return call is often not convenient for me AND because of the area code for my phone number.  Cincinnati's area code is 513 and my only phone is area code 512; therefore, my calls occasionally go astray - no matter how much I emphasize the area code.  Jerry had no problem with this because he answered all my calls - didn't have to leave a message.  On the day of service he called to let me know he was on the way and he correctly called area code 512...
When we discussed the system he installs he provided a lot of information about the pump including the manufacturer, Zoeller, the battery type, and other facts that helped me make an informed decision based not only on cost but also on merit.
I learned why Jerry answered my calls when he installed my system.  His son accompanies him on the job so while Jerry was on the phone the work went on because his son continued with the installation.  They were completely compatible and respectful to one another as well as to me.
Upon completion of the installation, they - together - explained the system, how to use the alarm system, care of the battery and the warranty. The left their phone number in a prominent location in case any questions arise in the future...and, of course, as a contact number for any future plumbing needs.
Very professional and I was left with a sense of satisfaction with the neatness of the job and a sense of safety for my home.

    Dadstasks Painting and Remodeling LLC
This company is really excellent. Darryl came out and gave me an estimate--and the actual the cost was very close to the estimate. The crew came on time, and on the days they said they would be here. All walls were prepared for painting. They are excellent painters!! The crew cleaned up after each day. Thought my job would take 3-4 days, and they finished in 3. No roller marks, no drips on tile or carpet. The high gloss painting for the moldings were the best I've ever seen. Darryl did a great job removing old caulking and replacing the caulking--matched my grout!! Very professional staff. We got to know them over the days they were doing our job--definitely would recommend them to anyone.
