    Northeast Ohio Renovations
Here's the good, the bad and the ugly. Bob spent a lot of time answering my questions and was very thorough on the initial consultation. Pricing was comprable to three other estimates I received during that time but wasn't the lowest. Here's the good: We decided to go with a pre-selected shingle that wasn't in stock with Bob's suppliers but he did find a local supplier that had just enough on hand at the last minute. He passed along only the small upcharge for the more expensive shingle. Installation quality seems descent. Shingle overhang is nice and even and visually looks very neat. Bob said he would give us extra winterguard rapping on the back edge of roof for no extra cost due to the amount of soffit overhang. I was especially impressed when his team supervisor actually fixed a problem caused by the previous roofer repair and did not charge me for it. The bad: 1. After a long wait time to begin work I seem to keep getting longer, there was another two-week start delayed due to the supervisor having problems with his truck. During this time the weather turning cold and icy. 2. I asked Bob if he would supervise the job but he said he is not on the job sites but that I can trust his team supervisor who has been with him for over 20 years. So I did. When I came home from work one day the waste dumpster was parked right in front of my garage doors. Someone assumed that I would not need to get in and out of the garage. That was a very bad assumption because my wife is a fall risk and needs to park inside the garage. This was in December and the driveway was becoming icy. The dumpster was moved promptly to the proper spot but no one contacted me to ask me where I wanted it located in the first place. 3. During installation Bob and I walked around to look at the progress and I noticed the roof paper was torn on a corner of the garage. He said his team would make it right before shingling over it. The Ugly. On the final walk-through Bob told me that a deck railing post cap was damaged from his team's work. This was not a big deal and the post cap was only $10. But he did not have the damaged cap nor was it found anywhere. I think his team threw it away. More likely this was a diversion for much more damaged railing that I did not find until the spring because the snow was falling during the final walk through. See the attached pictures. There are scratches, scuff marks, and tar marks on three six foot spans of railing that were not there before. My neck is relatively new. The scratches and scuff marks on the railing match the angle at which they threw off old pieces of shingle that hit the railing. I sent the pictures to Bob along with the itemized replacement cost of all the railing pieces. Total was $174. This was the first week in April when the snow and ice was finally all gone and I was out on the deck and noticed it. To date Bob has not responded. Just be aware of what you're getting into with this contractor and if you're willing to risk the bad and the ugly for the good. I will not recommend Northeast Ohio Renovations to any of my friends or relatives. That's a big price to pay for $174.

The roofer came out on the date and time he stated. We were having some staining on our kitchen ceiling where the flat roof that is over a enclosed porch must be leaking some where on the edges. The roofer could not see where there were any issues however said that flat roofs need maintained. I had him seal areas he recommended. He was here for a total of at the most 30 minutes which included looking at the roof and repairing it and charged us $588. I feel that price was outrageous considering the very little work that he did and small amount of material that he used. So we basically paid $20 per minute he was here. As you can see in pictures all that was done is he applied sealent around seams with what looks like black Elmers blue. I assumed it would have taken longer and more work was involved.

It went very well, Chris contacted us and provided an estimate promptly. He completed the work earlier than the stated time frame. He demonstrated a professional knowledge of the materials and the job to be done. We are very pleased with the outcome.

Went very well. Brian was honest in saving money by not having gto replace entire skylight. Was willing to hunt down where the leak was coming from and suggested a less expensive repair. Also repaired two stacks while on site saving potential damage in the future.

    Acclaim Renovations & Design
I am extremely happy with the work that Acclaim Renovations & Design (One Man and Hammer) did for me. The workmanship is beautiful and watching it happen was remarkable and impressive. They turned a house into my new home. Everyone in the organization from the tradesmen to the office staff to the owner is knowledgeable, experienced, talented and kind. My questions were answered promptly and patiently. My ideas, plans, and concerns were treated with consideration by allowing time to have conversations (many times more than one or two on a given topic) about the projects and enough respect for me to offer explanations about the process, advantages and disadvantages of various choices, differing opinions, and reviews of products. Support when I felt overwhelmed was always forthcoming. The people with Acclaim treated me as an individual with my own unique wishes and ideas not as a member of a big group called clients. They use what I am sure must be an excellent computer driven process for managing on-going projects. Since I do not have a good relationship with my computer, they were open-minded and kind enough to allow me to communicate by phone or in person. I have tried to think of something less than positive to say so that I might sound more believable, but I can't. Acclaim Renovations & Design offers quality service and work to help you enjoy your home.

Another roofing company told us we needed a new roof to fix our leaking roof. Ron looked at our roof and said it was in good shape, but was leaking due to poor installation of a few shingles. He put sealant underneath the shingles on the leaking area and fixed the problem. Saved us $10,000 dollars!

Terrible. These folks work so fast they damage window screens, weed whack the siding and blow grass all over. They do not know how to landscape, or edge bushes and shrubs. They just chop everything up instead of making it look nice. When the mulch they do not even weed the flower beds. They are very slow plowing in the winter and do not do very good job.

Work was done winter 2017. I worked with Eddie, one of their supervisors. The first problem was with scheduling. Eddie said they could begin work on the first dry day (it was raining/snowing a lot). We got a warm, sunny couple of weeks and he never called back. So I called him and then he said he was booked 2 months out. So we rescheduled. After the job was done I found a trim piece for the edge of the siding that was cut (see picture below). He stopped over to look at it; said he would send a guy out to fix it. No one ever showed up or called. Then I noticed the edge line of the shingles was irregular; not a straight line so that looking along the edge of the roof line where the shingles over lap; they curved out and back in (see picture below). This Spring I got up on the roof to look things over and found nails galore laying around. The nails on the top bridge were not tarred. There were extra shingles laying on the roof that were never disposed of. They also left debris on the ground; tin pieces and tar paper supplies laying against the house. I was going to have them pick it all up when they came out again but like I said, they never returned. This Spring I called them to have them complete the rest of the house/quote but they never returned my call. It's like they knew that had to make it right so they decided to ignore me. Bad service, very bad service. Based on my experience I would recommend anyone stay away from this company.

    Klemenc Construction Co Inc
The job required the tear off of two layers of shingles, replacing a skylight, new gutters, gutter covers and improving the attic ventilation. Mike and his crew worked very efficiently. Each person knew what they needed to do (without much direction) and they were able to complete the job in a little over one day. Klemenc was not the least expensive bid I received but I feel I received the best value. I am very pleased with the work that was done and highly recommend Klemenc Construction for your roofing project.

To begin with, this company didn't try to oversell me. Many others that I called never came out to inspect job, refused to service existing gutter guard, and in at least one case insisted I needed to replace not only my gutter guard but also my gutters - ignoring the fact that based upon past experience with my gutters and gutter guard, I expected they would function adequately if the work described below were performed. Then after clearing top of downspouts, closed off and anchored ends of gutter guard over downspouts. Corrected gaps in gutter guard discovered elsewhere upon inspection; for example, chipmunks had apparently chewed hole in one section. Won't know until it next rains if any problems still need to be addressed.
