    AVID CONSTRUCTION INC
Avid Construction (Joe Tracz) is nothing more than a complete scam. Joe will give you a great quote, and tell you everything you need to hear until you give him a deposit. Once he has your money, he will do as little as he can to string you along for as long as possible, and even try to get more money before doing any work. He has no credit anywhere, and any of the trades that need work bad enough to work for him, require money up front the day of job. That is almost unheard of in this industry (especially for someone with 25 years in the business), but gives you a good idea of how many people he has burned in the past. If you want to end up in court trying to sue a deadbeat contractor, go ahead and hire Avid Construction, otherwise, you would be better off with just about any other Lake County contractor. You should also remember the name Joe Tracz, because I am sure he will need to start a new company soon! It is a shame that someone can do business like this with very little repercussions.

    M & G Pools
Problem was intermittent and difficult to diagnose. Several attempts were made addressing potential causes one at a time. System was always running after Matt left. System issues seem to be resolved after two weeks of continuous operation.

    Hurd Home Services

Very personable and professional. Scheduled the service for a date I had requested. Showed up on time and reviewed the work to be done. One side of the house had some green mold that had built up over several years from nearby vegetation. They got right to work and beautifully cleaned all the vinyl siding for the first and second floor areas including a two car garage. We also had them pressure wash a small back patio, walkway, and front porch area for an additional nominal fee. When they finished, I had to shade my eyes from the sun glare coming off the siding. Very happy with the job they did and at a great price. Would hire them again in a minute.

    Ohio Pools & Spas
We had requested a service call to help us set-up and test our hot tub after we moved into a new home. We could see the listed prices on Angie's List and were planning on spending the money, but through conversations with the provider, he was able to walk us through the process without a service call and saved us a good bit of money. We appreciate his knowledge and his honesty! When it comes time that we do need service, we will certainly be calling Ohio Pools.

    M & G Pools
I purchased a used Jandy gas pool heater for our pool and installed it but could not get it to fire up. I called M and G and spoke with Matt. He managed to work me into his schedule the same day and he inspected the unit and checked all the wiring for loose connections. Everything tested fine and after putting the heater back on line it fired right up. He explained the wiring and how the heater functions so I can check it in the future if the same problem arises.

    C Sumer Electric Co
When I called the number, I was shocked - Charlie Sumer answered his own phone!  After I explained to Charlie the scope of work that was needed, he said no problem, but wanted to see the project prior to giving me a cost.  He offered to stop by later in the day to take a look.True to his word, Charlie showed up at the scheduled time, spent about an hour looking at the project AND made me aware of some parts that should have been provided by the pool dealer as part of the installation that were not included in the original delivery. After looking at the project, Charlie gave me a reasonable estimate and we scheduled a date for him to do the work.On the day the work was to be done, Charlie and his associate Tom arrived promptly.  Unfortunately during the installation of the pool, some additional challenges were discovered for the electrical work.  Rather than complain, Charlie walked me through the additional work that would be needed and provided a reasonable cost for the new work.  Working through a rainy day and more unexpected challenges, Charlie and Tom completed the job on time and on budget.  Not only that, but they fixed an interior ceiling fan for me at NO CHARGE. FINALLY, I OPENED MY MAIL THIS MORNING TO FIND A CHECK FROM CHARLIE FOR $50! - Part of Charlie's estimate included the cost of permits, but he didn't realize that I had already secured the permit for his work.Talk about an honorable and quality service provider - I have an electrician for life. Thanks Charlie and thanks Angie!

    Pro Pool & Spa

Howard Grossman has been in the pool & spa business for many years and knows the business from inside out. He ran into a couple of problems while installing ther new vynyl liner for my inground pool at the end of September 2011. He could have not have mentioned them, but he knew down the road I would have problems, so he felt he had to rememdy them or he would not feel comfortable with his decision. the job took longer than anticipated, but he completed the job right.
Howard and his crew including his son answered many questions i had about pools and taught me many things I would have never thought of!  I highlt recommend both Howard and his son for all your pool and spa needs!!Being in business for myself for many years, I know how hard it is to find people with as much honesty and integrity as Howard and his son. I trust and believe they will someday be the absolute best in the pool and spa business!                    Thank you again Howard! See you at pool time, sincerely Tina Belsito, Mentor,Ohio

    JACK'S POOLS
Hmmmm, let me try to sum this up in as little word as possible, since there is so much. I made an appointment with Jack and went to his store to see his pools. I actually was steered to a lower priced model pool, by Jack, which I thought was a bit odd. I wanted the deeper pool and I was looking at a pool with resin top rails. He explained the next lower priced pool was just as good and the steel top rails are stronger. I can tell you now, I wish I would have gone with another company. On the day I was scheduled for Jack's Pools to come do the install, the crew never arrived. I called at noon and was told they got behind on another install, the day before and will be at my home asap. They finally arrived at 4pm. They backed their truck onto my lawn and unloaded their Bobcat to landscape the site and tore a huge gouge in my front lawn--no apologies. During the process, the work men were using my neighbor's bushes as their private urinal. I couldn't believe it. One of the guys had on a T-shirt promoting drug use. I had to answer unwanted questions from my 7 and 10 year old sons, about the meaning of this guys shirt. Some of the guys took their shirts off and one had a tattoo of a naked woman on him! Their behavior was so totally unprofessional! By dark, these guys had only gotten the hole dug. They left without saying a word about when they would be back. In the morning I called Jack's and was told by his wife, they were on the way out. I told her about them urinating outside and she said they are told not to do that, giving me the feeling she didn't believe me. Also, my feeling was, if they had to be told not to do that, they must have done it before. When they arrived, I let them know they could use my facilities if needed--although, even if company policy forbade them from using my facilities, they could have used the fast food joint at the top of our street, the day before. They got the pool erected and I saw it wasn't the pool I had picked out, also the liner in and started filling the pool with water. I learned later, from someone who installs pools, they should have adjusted the liner when the pool had 15 minutes of filling time, to straighten out the wrinkles.  Lets say, the bottom liner seam runs a good foot up the sidewall, and the other side of the liner wall is on the bottom of the pool. I called Jack's in the morning to and he told me the pool was the same model, but the company sent a different patterned wall. He also said the liner misalignment wouldn't effect the integrity of the liner. I told him I didn't like the appearance, it looks horrible, and Jack basically said to me, "So sorry, but, too bad for you." The workers showed up after the pool was filled to finish installing the skimmer and hooking up the filter and pump. Then, much to my amazement, they drove off without cleaning up and fixing the damage to my yard. They left huge piles of dirt and roots, all over my yard, not to mention the aforementioned gouges in my front yard, from their Bobcat! Not only the liner was misaligned, the workers didn't put enough sand on the bottom, under the liner, or smooth it out. The first day we used the pool, I noticed there are huge divots in the bottom of my pool surface, where you can feel the hard earth underneath in places. I also noticed, the workers scratched and dented the top rails, and when I was inspecting them, I realized they were not the top rails on the pool I had picked out, at all! The tabs that held them to the pool edge were snapped off on several of them. I again called Jack to voice my concerns about the pool and top-rails, and ask when they were coming back to clean up? All Jack said was, "...this pool was actually a replacement for the other model"; he said the other model was discontinued and this was the one they are replacing it with. I said it was a substandard pool and asked why he told me a few days prior that it was the same pool, he said he made a mistake, but disagreed with me about it being a substandard pool, because it cost him $200 more. He then said, the workers wouldn't be back, that the install fee ($1200) was not a clean up fee. He also said the problem with the tabs on the top-rails wasn't an issue, the integrity of the pool would not be effected, and I could pick up a free can of spray paint at his store, for the scratches on the top-rails. His attitude was like I was a big pain in his side. He even sighed several times during our conversation, I could practically hear his eye-roles. I could not believe he was treating me this way and that he wouldn't order new top-rails for my pool, or, at the very least, run the paint out and have his workers paint the top-rails. Not to mention, his store is 30 miles away from my home! The pool is basically an embarrassment. Everyone who comes to our home comments on it in some way. All I can say is, WOW!!!! This is hands down, the biggest nightmare I've ever had dealing with a company of any kind. I should have gone with Miller Pools. My sister got the pool I originally wanted--the one with the resin top-rails--for $1000 less then I paid for this piece-of-Jack (crap). Miller Pool put in her pool without a hitch. The workers were professional, kept their clothes on, and cleaned up afterward--and best of all, she got the pool she chose! Do yourself a huge favor. DO NOT BUY A POOL FROM JACK'S POOL'S, EVEN IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!!! Jack is a liar and a thief, in my humble opinion.

    Posh Plumbing

We bought the range at Lowe's but they sent Posh Plumbing to do the installation. There was a little delay because Lowe?s had not faxed them the sheet. They called us after they got the sheet and asked if they could come by and then they brought the stove. They were very professional and courteous. The guy noticed that one of the caps on the front range burner looked a little small. He told me that he would arrange with the store to get a new one. I called Lowe's later and they told me that they had been informed and that it had been ordered from the manufacturer and would arrive in 10 days. That was a service above and beyond. It was a good experience.

    Pro Pool & Spa
Howard Grossman is a true professional and dedicate to make sure the customer is 100% satisfied with the service he provides. It was not easy to repair the pilot light on the pool heater due to corrosion but he stayed with the job and got it fixed. He even called back later that night to make sure the heater was still working properly. Amazing!! He also gave me a few tips about pool chemistry and the best way to maintain proper levels of chemicals. His price was unbelievable for the amount of work he did. We would definitely use Pro Pool again!!
