    All Star Chimney Service
Brian arrived on time as scheduled to review the job and provide an estimate. He returned at the scheduled time with necessary parts to replace flexible duct and chimney cap and began the work on the roof of our two story home. After closer inspection, some of the parts were not needed, but it was required that Brian return when the weather warmed up to do some grouting. Price was adjusted accordingly. He came back as scheduled. Brian took pictures to show so that I didn't have to go up on the roof. Brian left the site clean. Would hire again.

    Acclaim Renovations & Design
On time, on budget, great help with the design, extremely high workmanship. We could not be happier with the whole project and the people that brought it to fruition. They were a joy to work with. True professionals one and all!

    Thompson's Masonry Inc
Excellent! I called Thompson's Masonry for an estimate on chimney work. Bob came out within 45 minutes of the phone call and determined that we needed some repairs on our chimney, not a complete rebuild as had been told to us by other companies that had come out (rebuild prices ranging from $1500 to over $4000!). He also pointed out some tuckpointing that needed done on other brick on our house. He said he could do the work the next day. The price and timing were perfect, so we hired him. He showed up the next morning when he said he would (he was even a little early...bonus points!) and worked all day. He communicated with me throughout the day re: the progress. He was always courteous, respectful, and just a nice guy! The whole process was a positive one. The finished chimney and tuckpointing look great! I am so thankful I found Thompson's Masonry on Angie's List and we have already recommended him to friends who need masonry work. Thank you, Bob, for the excellent responsiveness, punctuality, professionalism, and GREAT workmanship!!!

    CHIMNEY WIZARD
Company was not responsive at all to phone calls and did not come out when promised. We had them out last Fall and they gave a verbal estimate and said we had to wait until Spring to have the work done. We tried calling several times to have them come back out to do the work and kept getting the run around. We were told they would come out and then got calls that something came up and would come out the next day, but never did. If we can't get the courtesy of a phone call and reliability of when they say they will be here BEFORE the work is done, then I have zero confidence that they would be here to do the work when promised or as promised.

QPS Chimney Contractors Landscaping & Snow
During the inspection, Robert found a few things that he felt needed attention with our three chimneys. My home is 65 years old, so this wasn't a big surprise. He totally rebuilt the fireplace chimney, put in a flue liner in the furnace chimney and flashed all three. He is very knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable doing business with him. We can now go into the winter season knowing that our chimneys are safe.

    Mr V's Concrete & Construction
Did a professional job in a timely manner at a good price. Took extra precautions to insure the steps and slab wouldn't fail in the future by 1) installing a cement block foundation for the steps to prevent the steps from sinking, 2) reinforcing the porch brick base by anchoring it with rebar attached to the block foundation of my house, 3) reinforcing the new concrete slab of the porch with wire mesh and 4) installed a control joint in the concrete slab. These were 4 items that a previous contractor 20 years ago didn't do which caused the steps to sink, the slab to crack and sink back toward the house (which directed rain falling on the porch back to the foundation of my house which caused water in my basement several times), and the brickwork on the porch base to heave and leave gaps between the brick's mortar.

    Wheeler & Son Cement Contractors
They did an excellent job. I can't say nothing bad about them. They were good. They delivered it. They cleaned up. They did everything as I would hope them to. I would give them an A across the board. I'll absolutely use them again. That was a fair price based upon all the estimated that I had gotten.

    Richard Nowicki
Richard and his son Jason were excellent.  They made every effort to save me money by re-using my sandstone stairs to my front door.   They went out of their way to see the new bricks used matched the old brick.  After taking apart the old brick riser - they added a concrete block pillar under the large top slab for support; they turned and reset the sandstone step to a good clean edge with the proper slope so water would not pool and they cleaned the green slime off the sandstone so it all looks brand new!
They dug out the crumbling mortar in my chimney; tuckpointed everything and added a concrete cap so that water would drain off the top of the chimney in the future rather than running behind the brick.
They also found that the mortared joints between a sandstone cap on a decorative brick wall were cracking, and the repaired that as well.
They were prompt in responding to my initial call for an estimate.  They performed all the work exactly as stated and for the price quoted.
They cleaned up after they left and you would never know they were here except for the caution tape protecting my new front steps.

very well.  Fair and trustworthy.   The only drawback is that he doesn't use email, nor even a fax.  So, it's all phone calls and paper signatures for contract.  Overall, great work and good guy.

Home Exteriors Roofing, Siding and Windows
While we are pleased with the final product as it pertains to look and apparent soundness of the roof installed by Absolute Exteriors, there were a few aspects of the overall experience that compel us to share for anyone considering them for a future roofing job.
Our initial meeting with Mark to discuss the job, materials, cost and timing went very well.  We were pleased with his knowledge and he made it very clear he was familiar with the structure style of our house and the special considerations required for our cathedral ceilings. He took the time to explain that the standard venting would be done on the back half of the house and the garage but it could not be done where the cathedral ceilings existed over our living room and dining room and we understood the limitations.
Upon signing the agreement with him, we were under the impression that we would be given a 2-3 day notice when work would begin.
Nearly three weeks later, we received a late afternoon call notifying us that the materials would arrive early the next morning and the crew would arrive shortly thereafter to begin tear off and replacement.
During the course of their work that afternoon, we heard sawing above our dining room and discovered a hole had been cut into our ceiling about 2?x12? at the peak. When one of the workers knocked on the door and asked to ?take a look at something?, he inspected the hole but didn?t indicate what they would do to fix it.  When we asked about it a short while later, we were
told they would notify the foreman of the problem but again, nothing was said to us about fixing it and the foreman did not connect with us about it.
When they completed their work for the day, we were told a couple guys would be back the next day (Saturday) to finish the last small area to be shingled and we asked once again about the hole.  We were told the foreman had left but they would let him know about the issue.
Saturday came and no one showed up (after we had cancelled our plans) ? we called the office and asked for a return call but never received one.
We called again that afternoon and asked to talk to Mark and he was not aware they were supposed to be back out ? nor was he aware of the hole that had been left in our ceiling.
He explained that the place they got their materials from was closed on Saturday and someone would be out to finish on Monday ? and he would also stop by on Monday to look at the ceiling.
Sunday, there was rain in the forecast and someone showed up early in the morning to tarp the corner that wasn?t shingled and then Monday, two men came to finish and Mark came to inspect the hole.
He gave us the option of having them fix it or us fixing it and them knocking off some of the cost of the materials for us.
After some consideration, we opted to fix it ourselves and took the discount on the materials and the deal was complete.
When it was all said and done, I went on the roof to take a look and found several handfuls of nails and scrap pieces that were not cleaned up. And later, we found another handful of nails on our patio and on some of the patio furniture.  While we understand it?s nearly impossible to get every single nail that comes from the tear off, the ones we found on our patio ----- where our dogs run ----- were left in plain sight on the cement slab not far from our pool.
This was all frustrating but the worst came when we started finding cigarette butts in the yard, on the patio and in our flower beds and gardens.
We do not smoke and we had not had guests that smoked so there is no doubt where they came from.
So in summary, the roof looks great and seems sound. But the communication, follow up and attention to detail was very disappointing.
