    TITAN ASPHALT & PAVING
A new driveway was put over the old one. There was a front asphalt walkway which was removed per my request. When they removed the sidewalk they broke the bottom step going into the house and cracked the foundation the step was sitting on. Would not acknowledge they broke it or would repair it.

The work that they did was shoddy at best. When they came out to repair it looked even worse. Did not submit full payment until we were satisfied. Which we were not. The owner was rude and obnoxious. He told us that they do not complete work to the customer's satisfaction only to what was on the contract. Do not hire this company.

I have low spots, especially by my garage.  When I open my garage door after a rain, there is water pouring into my garage.  They did not level it.  There are cracks in it as well.  I've tried calling 5-6 times and left messages and haven't gotten any replies.  I have threatened to report to BBB and they still don't call back. My neighbors have experienced the same.

I dealt with Todd Tornstrum, the owner's son, who really is
the owner, whom we purchased a new asphalt driveway from. On the scheduled day,
I took off work to oversee the beginning process.

They never showed and phone calls went unanswered. I finally
received a call from Todd, the following week, after bombarding his phone with
messages. He acted disgruntled about the numerous messages and told me he was a
busy man. His excuses was they were backed up on work due to poor weather and
he stated he tried to notify me, but I didn't answer, which was total BS, as I
was home with my cell phone in hand all day, calling him, over and over.

Work was rescheduled and they were to show up at 8:30am.
They finally showed up at 11:30am, and I suspect one of the crewmen was drunk,
as he was swaying back and forth. I had go to work for half a day, so left the
crew there to do the job. My neighbor reported to me, she witnessed two men
urinating behind my house several times, although a service station was less
than 500 feet from my home. When I came home, the drive was not complete. There
was just the trough they dug where the drive was to be poured, so I had to call
the city to arrange for parking on the street. They left mud and clumps of
grass all over my porch area that took me an hour to clean up.

The following day, I spoke with Todd when the crew didn't
show in the morning. He stated I would need to pay the balance before the drive
was finished. I told him I wasn't comfortable paying the balance until the job
was complete, but he said it wouldn't get finished until it was paid. So, unfortunately
    for me, I paid him...

It was arranged for them to come on a Friday to finish (a
week later). I went to work with Todd's assurance, I'd come home to a driveway.
By this time, I had been parking in a neighbor's drive and I just wanted my
work done. When I came home, the driveway was done, to the company's standard,
although I was extremely unhappy. There was at least an 2 foot strip of drive,
all the way up the right side, abutting my neighbor's property, that was
missing! The trough they dug was there, where they prepped for the drive, but
no drive. It was also on the approved plans, so I know what I was supposed to
get; a 18 ft drive, wide enough for 2 cars! Now, there?s not enough room for
another car to park and be able to open their door!
All calls to Todd Tornstrum have gone unanswered at this
point. I will have to pursue legal action.
Unfortunately, during this whole fiasco, I discovered the
whole family has sham businesses around the Cleveland area, where they all work
for one another. I?ll be lucky to get anything back.

    Best Asphalt Sealcoating Inc
My driveway and turnaround behind my home is a pretty big job. These guys did everything they said they would and completed the work the same day. It looks wonderful and I think they even fixed the grading issue. My neighbors were waiting for me when I cam home to ask if I was trying to show them up - as my driveway now looks beautiful and theirs is dull and breaking up.  Professional and quick. They did a great job! I am well pleased.

    TITAN ASPHALT & PAVING
They are excellent. I called them last October after seeing somebody's drive on the street and because of the date they said that they won't do it just then. If the weather changes or something they cannot guarantee the work and she said that they would put us top of the list for spring which they did. I thought that was really good because I had a friend who had a different company come out and they actually did the work when they should not have done it. Of course it is not a good job. Then the City put in water lines and so we wanted them to wait until that work was through. The day before they come and put up the drive, they come in and trim back the lawn and made sure that they had a good surface to work with. They next day they come and take off an inch or two of the drive down and settled it with the paving material. Then they said they would be back in a year which would be next summer to seal again. We had an opportunity actually to see how some of the other drive ways they had done several years ago had held up. Ours needed doing very badly because we have been in this house for nearly 40 years and we did not have anything expect that sealed stuff put on top. Assuming ours is also going to hold up as well because the other ones on the street have held up very well over a couple of winters. They are a small company. They are a local company. The girl who answers the phone is extremely pleasant and personable. You feel like that you are dealing with very reliable neighbourhood people. You really feel like that if you have any problem and you call them you would get some results. We were very comfortable with them as well. We kind of laughed because every time we turned around there were Titan signs in everybody's lawns. Price wise it was less than what we thought it would be.

    Protect-A-Cote Inc.

When I first contacted Protect-A-Cote for a quote, the receptionist told me that someone would be out in the next few days to look at my driveway and provide a quote.  I told her that I probably would not be home, and that I wanted the quote to cover paving the gravel portion of the existing driveway.  When I arrived home at the end of the following day, there was a note in my mailbox that said that the driveway assessment was completed and a quote would be mailed.

About 5 days later I received the quote in the mail that included a booklet explaining how the asphalt paving process would be performed.  I called and told the receptionist to schedule the work.
Protect -A-Cote was not able to perform the work on the agreed upon date because of nonstop rain.  Their receptionist called and rescheduled the performance date for the following week.  The crew showed up at about 7:30 a.m. Monday morning and completed all of the driveway preparation before noon.  The next morning the asphalt paver was there at about 7:45 and I talked to Larry, who told me the rest of the equipment and crew was on the way.  I left before the other equipment arrived, and returned shortly after noon to find that the driveway. was completely paved and the crew was gone.

The driveway looks great and drains perfectly.  The areas around the catch basin in my driveway, as well as where the asphalt apron meets the street, and the asphalt pavement meets the concrete portion of the driveway were all matched perfectly without any gaps or changes in grade from one surface to another.

Protect-A-Cote did an excellent job for a fair price.  They left the work area clean and did not damage the flowers or shrubs edging the driveway.  I would not hesitate to recommend them to neighbors and friends.

    RONYAK BROS PAVING INC
On Wednesday, two workers prepared the driveway for paving by removing a concrete slab in front of the garage and installed backfill. Removed bad sections of existing asphalt and ground down existing asphalt at the street. On Friday, the paving crew arrived at the designated time and installed the asphalt. All of the Ronyak Brothers Paving personnel were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. That included, but not limited to, the paving crew, prep crew, office staff that I talked to, and George the estimator. Ronyak was not the low bidder but, in my opinion, they presented the best proposal and they had a very good reference list. They also responded promptly to my call for an estimate.

    OHIO PAVING & CONSTRUCTION CO.
Called company on 9-11-07 and was told someone would call to arrange for estimate, but no one called. I called again about four days later but the telephone was not answered. They had advertised with a $100.00 coupon in a mailing we received. Estimated cost was $4200.

    PROTECTOSEAL ASPHALT MNTNC
THE QUALITY OF THE WORK WAS GOOD, HOWEVER, THE QUOTED AND AGREED UPON ORDER TO FILL CRACKS PRIOR TO RESEALING DRIVEWAY WAS OMITTED FROM THE WORK ORDER FOR THE DAY AND THEREFORE WAS NOT DONE BY THE CREW SENT OUT TO DO OUR JOB. ANOTHER CREW WAS SENT 2 DAYS LATER TO FILL CRACKS, BUT JOB WAS NOT DONE TO OUR SATISFACTION. THREE ADDITIONAL DAYS LATER, THE OWNER CAME TO APPLY THE RUBBERIZED CRACKFILLER ATOP THE 1ST TWO APPLICATIONS AND THE JOB MET OUR EXPECTATIONS AND SATISFACTION. WE DID NOT PAY UNTIL THE OWNER CAME TO FINALIZE THE JOB. NOW WE ARE VERY SATISFIED WITH THE FINAL OUTCOME.
