    Mastronardi Construction
I called Gus for an estimate on some work I needed done around the house including minor plumbing, siding, and window work. After reaching out to a couple unresponsive contractors, I contacted Gus who came out the next day and provided a reasonable estimate for the work I requested. Gus was very responsive and completed the job in an afternoon. I did end up assisting him with the majority of the work as an extra pair of hands to repair a window and spot the ladder. We had a couple of stubborn toilets that did not cooperate after Gus repaired them and departed; he quickly came back the following morning to make an adjustment to get them back to 100% operating shape. He then followed up with me the next day to ensure they were working properly. Despite a couple minor hiccups, Gus ensured the job was done completely and properly. He followed up appropriately and provided written estimates along with receipt of payment. Bottom line: would I hire him again? Yes.

    The House Doctors
Two young man came on time. Pleasant and receptive. The work was to repair bottom of door frame and loose door sill.
    1. He and his assistant started to cut out rotten part of the frame and part of sub floor.  They needed to fill the gap. They cut 1x4 and painted one piece and did not paint the other piece. Made 2 pieces rather than one. Attached to floor joist with glue and screws. They could not put back door sill because there is no sub floor. They had to put screws to metal part of the door sill to anchor it. It is  not very stable.
    2. To repair bottom of door frame, they cut out rotten part of the frame. They put pieces of wood to replace cut out part of door frame. Pieces of wood did not fit well, they needed many trial and error to make it fit. The finish is not even, part of the replaced wood is sticking out.
    3. They cracked inside of door frame while doing the work, for which they put caulk and a screw to avoid separation.
    4. They did not buy correct weather sseal for bottom of the door, had to buy another one which I paid again. They had to make another trip to the Home depot, which took another 25 minutes (First trip to Home depot was to buy 1x4 wood and weather seal). Next day, I had to remove and make it fit because metal part was deforming weather strip.
    5. While removing the door to replace weather strip they made 2 ugly gouges to inside door frame.
    6. They did not have tarp to protect my newly installed wood floor.
The men worked as much as they know how to do it. I do not blame them. I have problem with The house doctor. They should have sent skilled person to do the job. They sent inexperienced workers. Due to the trial and error it took much longer to do the job and caused some damages to the door frame. It took total 8.5 man hour and I had to pay $195 extra. The Angie's list coupon was $111 for 3 hour.
I have hired a lot of contractors from Angie's list. This is first time I am reporting because Angie's list members should know about the company.

In first contacting Tom on the phone ,he was an instant likeable man. You immediately felt comfortable with him.
The impression over the phone was the samene as in person. Tom was punctual and went right to work.. He is a
Soft spoken person, very polite and came across as very sincere and honest.

The 4' old fixture, he hauled away.

He was here for approx. 1 hr. 20 mins. We found the price to be very reasonable.

Without thinking twice, we would certainly recommend him and definitely call him back for any future needs.

We hope his business will continue to succeed., you don't find many like hiim.

So glad we found him on Angies List and lives right in our neighborhood.

We had the three hours of work completed as well as two additonal hours of work at the standard rate. The drywall has been applied through our entire basement and we asked to schedule a follow up to have the walls sanded. We were told we would be contacted in a few days to schedule the completion of the work. Its been three weeks and we have left three messages with no return call. Quality work doesnt matter if you cant get anyone to complete it

If everyone worked as hard and as diligently as Tom Porter, the world would be a different place! Punctual, worked without stopping from a list of things needing to be done, put in a full 9 hours before stopping for the day. All work was excellent and the price was phenomenal. Tom will be returning to complete some additional jobs for us. We are so glad we found him!

    Winnen Handyman Services
There was a repair that needed to be made and the person who came out to estimate the job really did not know how it would be repaired. In his defense, I do not think he could have known unless he constructed the house in the first place, but he seemed pretty knowledgeable. There was too much question about how much it would end up costing. He gave me a range of $500 to $1,500 depending on what he found. It was difficult for him to give me a good solid price.  I decided to go and attack it myself with a friend and we managed to get it done for like a $100. I would consider using them in the future.

I called several and he was the most responsive. I liked his attitude and what he was talking about doing. I liked him. He seemed knowledgeable and like a guy I wanted to work with. I only got a price from one other guy and his was lower.

I had a piece of linoleum from another project and was not having much luck finding someone to install it. Ann Winnen advised that her company could provide the service and sent Chris to install the floor. I provided all of the material and he installed a subfloor first and then did a perfect job on the linoleum. I was happy with the work and will be using them again.

    Morry the Handyman
I emailed Morry with a list of things I needed to be done. He replied and said he could do them all. We set up a date for the next week. He said he'd be there between 12 and 3, and showed up at 2. He explained his charges and his process. I showed him all of the items that needed done. He suggested that I do something different than I wanted with the washtub pipes in the basement, to save money. His suggestion was spot-on and I went with that. It took him an hour and a half to do all the jobs I wanted done. He showed me everything and waited for my approval. Once everything was approved he cleaned up and we settled the bill. I've never hired a handyman before but my experience with Morry was great! I'll definitely hire him again. I've already given his card to everyone in my family that lives in the area. He's really serious about customer satisfaction (he gave me a follow-up call the next day) and will be honest about what he can and can't do. I tried to hire him for a project before but he said it was not something he could do, and sent me a great referral. That's why I called Morry this time, because I liked his honesty - and it paid off for me!

    The House Doctors
I have used them before and their price seemed to be fair. Three men came for the job, including the owner of the company. They are extremely honest and only tell you the things they need, they don't include unnecessary extras. I would highly recommend them. They were as wonderful this time as they were last time. As a single woman, I need people who I can trust in my house. This company continues to garner my trust.
