  • Leo James was hired to perform monthly lawn maintenance and special projects. Jeremy Fetterma, owner, assured me that my yard would be well tended to and on occasion he would personally be overseeing the maintenance. This never happened. Mr. Fetterma insisted that I sign a contractual agreement for monthly services and reassured me that his team would provide excellent work and care. I was leary about entering into an agreement with a landscaper, especially a new landscaper since the quality of the service is subjective where the service provider is concerned. Nonetheless, I trusted Mr. Fetterma to take care of my yard since I am a single woman and need to have my yard in good shape for my children and my pets. Good condition is far from what I received from Leo James. I complained to Mr. Fetterma multiple times, and in October wrote him a personal note that I was not happy with the service my yard looked terrible. He assured me he would check it over. I then had his company clear debris and replant grass. His team left a large pile of rocks and stone on a bed of shrubs and plants and never cleaned it up. It was an eyesore and I received several comments from visitors in regard to the crazy "pile of rocks" left haphazardly in my yard. I requested that the rocks and stones be removed from my yard after they sat there for some time. Mr. Fetterma's crew removed all except for a giant boulder - which still sits in my yard. In November Mr. Fetterma was to perform a thorough Fall clean up which was not done. My yard looked like an abandoned lot and I was embarrassed to have any outside activities. My complaints went unanswered therefore, I had to hire someone else to properly clean up my yard. I expressed my unhappiness to Mr. Fetterma who answered "you are insulting what I do for a living" instead of offering to come out and meet with me. He continued to send me harassing texts and demanded that pay the rest of the maintenance contract, and that he was going to stop by to collect a check. I did not feel safe due to his bullying nature therefore, I asked him to cease all texts and phone calls and to place all communication in an email or writing. I did not hear from Mr. Fetterma again until recently I was notified that Mr. Fetterma had filed suit against me in small claims court to collect on the balance of the contract even though he was repeatedly told by me that his services were below standard. Overall, Mr. Fetterma's bullying nature and forceful demands to make his contract whole made me regret entering into any type of agreement with Leo James. My experience with this company was terrible and hopefully this review will be useful for any one asked to sign a contractual agreement with this company and Mr. Fetterma: be warned that the quality of work is subjective and Mr. Fetterma does not place customer satisfaction in high priority.

  • Scott was called to provide a quote. He came out to discuss the job. Did not hear back from him. But when I called a couple of months later he was very responsive and came back out and was able to give us a quote. He was very knowledgable about what we wanted and was able to draw up the plan exactly as we discussed. We ended up not using him for the project but in the future would certainly call him again for a quote on any additional work we may need relating to landscaping.

  • Dan and his staff did a very nice job on our yard. This is the second time we hired Ferratto Landscaping and we will use his company again. Our yard looks great, Dan even pruned our tree of dead branches in the front yard that I forgot needed attention. Dan also rearranged some stone pavers along the front of our home where he planted bushes a couple of years ago. We highly recommend Angies customers that this is a company to hire for a professional landscape job at a fair price.

  • When the owner came out on September 6, we discussed what he could do, which included a fall clean up for all around the house, repairing the pavers on the front porch and steps, and increasing the planting areas in the back yard. He said he was backed up and I told him there wasn't a rush. He said he would get back to me in a couple weeks. He didn't. He said he thought I was going to call him. He sent a very rough sketch on October 9. When he came out, too late to plant any spring bulbs, he said the paver specialist couldn't start his car so he wouldn't be here. He asked if one of the plants was a plant or a weed. He then said since the pavers were glued on, he wouldn't be able to fix them. I told him the reason we chose him was because of the work on the pavers. At the end of the day, much of the clean-up and the digging in the back yare was complete. I asked if the clematis should be cut back. He said he would have to check. I never heard back on that and they were not touched. The second day I told him I wanted some sweet woodruff transplanted. There were several clumps of them. The worker dug up one clump. He planted the entire clump in one hole, weeds and all, instead of spreading them around and didn't touch the other ones. I also mentioned the rose bushes needed to be cut back. They were trimmed back to more than 36". They should have been less than a foot. The next day I noticed some of the perennials had been dug up and dumped. I haven't heard back from him since then.
  • From the first time I met John and explained what I wanted to do, I had full confidence in him.  The main reason we pursued this project was the path: the stones had heaved, and it was becoming a safety issue.  Since we had to excavate for the path, we decided it was a good time to renovate the whole front landscape.  All of the shrubs were either overgrown or heavily pruned by deer,  and the whole tired layout detracted from the appearance of the house. John came out once to get a sense of what we wanted to do, and then came again with drawings and a detailed plan.  He came when he said he would be here, and he always returned my phonecalls in a timely fashion.  Although his estimate was on the higher end of companies we talked to, the higher cost is absolutely reflected in the quality of his work and his crew's attention to detail.  For example, after taking out the sandstone, the crew spent almost two days grading, leveling and tamping the bed for the new path.  The were very careful with the sandstone and were able to re-use just about all of it.  The were also meticulous about the cut-in and positioning of stones.  The landscaping portion of the project went very smoothly as well.  John took into account all of the usual factors when making plant selections (light, soil, deer), but also considered the style of the house and the views from inside.  Other companies we considered were either landscaping companies that happened to do paths occasionally, or hardscaping companies that could add some plants if we wanted.  But with Eagle we got a superior quality path and a beautifully designed new look for the front of our house.  We are convinced we made the right choice and we would highly recommend Eagle Landscaping for any landscape design, hardscaping , or combined project.  In fact, lately I have been eyeing our back patio......
  • Al and his team were really easy to work with.  Al was able to work within our schedule; even when we had to delay the project a month due to the demolition work being put on hold for the deck we were replacing.  From dig to pour, they took less than a week to complete the job.   We will highly recommend Al and Tomaro to our friends and family.  Great Job, Al!

  • John and his workers were extremely dedicated to the job working through downpours of rain from morning until evening. They were very clean and professional. I have to say that their best work was in building the deck stairs and brick-stone patio that everyone has complemented us on for the unique design and thorough job. The view from our kitchen/family room is beautiful because of the circular patio that is right in the middle of the yard and how our backyard is engulfed by the 10 Norway spruce trees. Our seeded lawn is doing pretty well and will probably need until next year to look its best. The design of our beds is pretty wide and generous which I like and our trees in the back and front include a Japanese maple, an ornamental pear, Chinese dogwood and sweet bay magnolia all of which are unique and pretty. As for the plants, I have to admit that I know very little about plants and feel pretty neutral/happy with his choices, but I do see myself making some modifications in the years to come as I start to develop my likes/dislikes now that I have a stronger interest in plants and have started observing some beautiful plants bloom this year in surrounding houses. John also put up a window box for me that I had bought online and did not charge for it. He has been pretty responsive to my phone calls a couple of months down the line and may even be doing my lighting for outside. I am very pleased with the outcome and would definitely hire him and his dedicated crew again.

  • Since we had such a long battle with the city for final approval we didnt get to begin construction til the end of October. But considering the guys had to battle the elements everything went along quite smoothly.  They even had a few days rest while we waiting for snow to melt.  They put down some fresh clean dirt and grass seed on the areas of both front and back yards that had been tromped over by the guys and their machinery.
I cannot commend them highly enough for their prefessionalism. They even did a fantastic job of cleaning up afterwards.
I would highly recommend Richard and his crew for any outdoor work that needs to be done--and  more specifically for any outdoor construction projects.

  • The work team was punctual and did quite a good job. The men worked hard and responded well to an occasional request from homeowner. I have no complaints with them. They cut the lawn, trimmed, blew off driveway, deck and sidewalks at a reasonable price. Efficient and cheerful.
Several times when I needed to speak with the office, my experience was not as positive. The person who answered even began to argue with me on one occasion. It's possible this has changed since my last experience.
