Sewer Cleaning reviews in Loveland

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • They did a wonderful job.  They were professional and on time.  They made sure they cleaned up their messes. They explained everything while they were doing the work and made sure it was clear.

  • The service technician did a very good job.  Was very clean and professional.  Wiped down everything when he was finished. Actual service performed exceed my expectations, although it was quite costly for 30 minutes of work.
The biggest problem was that Roto Rooter was a no show at an earlier appointment and I had to call them to set a second appointment.  Originally they told me they'd be there in about an hour which would have been 2 pm.  When no one showed up by 5:30, I called them and they said somehow my appointment had be lost (???).  They scheduled a new appointment for within the next 2 hours.  This required us to rework our family dinner schedule since we weren't sure exactly when they would arrive.  The service technician arrived almost exactly 2 hours later (naturally we had already started worrying about another no show).  The technician knew nothing about the earlier no show so couldn't offer an explanation.

  • It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It took much longer than I expected. It was essentially half price for the first hour. They were here for 2 1/2 hours so I essentially got an hour for free. They came the same day that I bought the service. We were not sure what clogged the outgoing drain; whether it was roots or not. They didn't use a camera, they just used the power auger. They needed an awful lot of auger. They were not the least expensive or most expensive. It looked like they cleaned up but it was still damp.

  • They came out the next day, on time, found the access point for the line (I didn't know where it was) and had the job done in an hour and a half!  Seems like a family business that takes pride in their work. They were also very cordial and respectful of my property. They even re-covered the access point and replaced the mulch in the area so it looked like it had never been touched!
I'm very happy with A. Accurate and won't hesitate to use them again for my plumbing needs.

  • They were scheduled to show up on Friday.  On Monday I called, they did not know why they did not show up and rescheduled for Tuesday.
The Angie's List Big Deal was advertised as follows :
$79 for Sewer Rodding/Drain Cleaning with Free Sewer Televising!
$400 of drain cleaning for $80
The technician claimed the $80 was just for running their camera in the drain, and it would cost $400 to clean the drain.  Eventually they agreed to do the job as advertised and the drain seems to work.  It is frustrating having to fight to get them to honor their ad.

  • My experience with Thompson is mixed. The two technicians that came to my house were courteous, skilled, and thorough. My experience with the office was disappointing.

I had heard Thompson's ads on the radio, so I checked them out  on Angie's list and saw they had a good rating. Scheduled the cleaning for 20 April between 3-5PM.  At 5:30PM called Thompson to find out what was going on. They professed ignorance and said they would have someone come right out. The reality is that the technician's truck had broken down early in the day, and he'd been several hours behind schedule all day. Thompson's office should have called to inform me so that I wasn't setting around waiting.

As far as the services, the drain technician was thorough, patient, and pleasant.  He tried unsuccessfully to clear the drain from three different entry points.  He told me that the corrugated drains have a tendency to collapse and pull apart at the joints due to freezing and thawing of the ground.  He suggested that we have a camera crew come out to confirm the situation before considering replacement.  When I tried to hand him the check, he refused saying that he hadn't solved my problem.  A nice touch.

The following Tuesday, the camera technician came out and checked the condition of the drains.  As predicted, the drains had collapsed in 4 spots.  Again, the technician was courteous and thorough.

I've chosen someone else to do the actual drain replacement.  I have several quotes in hand and Thompson is more than double the average.  There are numerous types of companies that do exterior drains, and using a using a licensed plumber is not the most cost effective.

  • We had a clogged sewer line that was causing sewage/water to bubble up in our yard and drains to run slow in our house. Gross to say the least! Because our regular plumber didn't have a snake/auger that could reach the end of our line (200+ feet), he recommended we call Roto Rooter as they would have the appropriate equipment. We called the dispatch number and a truck was at our house within an hour. Unfortunately, the blockage was so large that the first team was unable to dislodge it with their auger, but Roto Rooter has a policy where if the first team can't resolve the problem, a second team is called in to give it a try at no additional cost. The first guys--who were really nice and didn't mind my husband standing over their shoulder the whole time they were there (this sewer situation had him really worked up!)--left at about 4:00 pm and the second team was scheduled to arrive at 5:00 pm. There were apparently some scheduling conflicts and they were trying to send a truck with a heavier-duty auger, so the second truck didn't show up 'til about 9:00 pm. That was the only snafu we experienced with Roto-Rooter, and since it was caused by them trying to get the right equipment to our house, I can't take issue with the late arrival. The second Roto Rooter associate was just as nice as the first two guys, and also didn't mind it when my husband kept him company while he was snaking the line. :) At 10:30 pm, my husband came in the house and announced that we could finally take a shower/run the dishwasher/throw in a load of laundry--which we hadn't been able to do for two days. They didn't stop 'til they got the job done--needless to say, we are extremely happy with our experience and will keep Roto Rooter on file for any future plumbing needs. Thanks!

  • In our neighborhood we have silver maple trees which have very aggressive roots that get into sewer lines. I went into the basement to find that our morning showers had caused the sewer to back up into the laundry room. I called the Cincinnati number (513-541-3840) and was told someone could be here this morning. Will arrived within 90 minutes and worked on the line for about an hour, clearing out what I thought was a fairly large hunk of roots. He was professional and courteous, and disinfected the garage area where he had been working before he left. He also arranged for someone to come out with a camera to run it into the line to see if we had any damage that would cause problems in the future.
