    Rachel's Cleaning & Services
The experience was great. Good family business that has been doing it for a long time and they know what they are doing. My wife and I feel much safer now! We use our fire place more than most. Our home inspector didn't catch the hazards that Rachel's fixed for us.

It went great. They were slow to start but this was not their fault but lots of rain prevented them from beginning the project. We have a very tricky roof, very slanted and lots of peaks. They were able to SAFETLY build scaffolding and continue on with the project. Without asking them they fixed a couple of broken limestone on my pool. They were great!

    Chimney Care Co
With it being the busy season, I set up my appointment two months before they had an opening.  There is no Angie's List discount even thought it is stated on Angie's site.  I did receive a $10 senior discount, though.
Shane arrived on time.  He was very professional and gave advice for our chimney cap.  He cleaned our gas logs, cleaned out the gas line since the pilot light was not staying lit and checked all aspects of our gas logs and gas connection.  He rearranged the logs so they look and burn more efficient.
We are very pleased with the service.  We would use them in the future and recommend to family and friends.

Work was done when we weren't here.  From what I could tell, it went great.  Tech left a detailed description of work performed.

My only complaint is that it took a long time from sending in a signed contract to having work performed (several months).  But I had stated from the beginning that I wasn't in a hurry.  I thought it was a very good price and I'm happy with what was done.

The service was good. Roger called me promptly to schedule the service and was in touch again before he arrived at the house. He and his son did an excellent job with a chimney that had probably not been cleaned or serviced in a very long time. He gave me good advice going forward, and showed me photos from the inspection so that I could see what he was seeing from the roof. He did make some recommendations for products, which I opted to defer. He pointed out another Big Deal that he is offering that is related to the recommendations he made and noted on my receipt that he would honor that price if I do the work later. While I felt a little bit like I was being "sold up," the fact that he respected my decision and noted the price on the receipt tells me that there really was no pressure and he is very professional. I will definitely call him again for a future cleaning and if we decide to upgrade the chimney cap. He also recommended two masons for the chimney crown work we need and explained the difference between the services each of them offers. At the end of the service, I was left feeling informed, confident, and able to move forward if we decide to do any further improvements.

Matt arrived promptly at the appointed time.  He was very knowledgeable, efficient and personable.  He checked chimney cap, cleaned firebox and logs, cleaned burners and made adjustments, placed logs to heat most efficiently, and replaced embers all in a very timely fashion.  We are most pleased with his work.   We will not hesitate to call American Chimney for future work.

Cleaned and checked the fireplace and flue. Also went up on the roof to check the top of the vent. Staff seemed very knowledgeable, they gave me tips on how to check on when logs are aged and ready to be used.

Their quote was less than half the price of another quote that I've got. They were fast, they did a great job. I've seen what they have done. They did the job in two hours. They came, they did the job, they went away and it was perfect. I am absolutely happy. They came on time for the quotes. They gave me the quote and I scheduled the date.

Steve came out to discuss reline options.  (We discovered the chimney needed repair when it was cleaned earlier this year by a different company.)  Originally considered having them resurface it with Heat Shield, but decided to go with a stainless steel reline for the lifetime warranty, much less chance of product issues (than Heat Shield), and potential use with a gas insert if we ever decide not to burn wood.
We had 30 days to accept the offer, but decided in a few days.  Reline was scheduled for 2 weeks later.  Tom and Ryan did the work.  They were punctual, professional, and answered questions.  After removing the fireplace screen/cover/damper assembly, they removed the existing tile from inside the chimney and installed the liner which they had wrapped with a blanket of insulation.  A circular chimney cap was installed to replace the existing square cap because the liner is round.
Breaking up the tile was slightly noisy, although not annoying, and not messy/dusty because they covered the fireplace opening with plywood, had a vacuum running to collect the dust, and covered the floor with a tarp.  Broken tiles and pieces of brick (internal to the chimney, not external) were taken out in buckets.  They also sealed the crack in the crown and tuckpointed the fireplace per the work order.  Neighborhood kids getting off the school bus were amazed to see men standing on the roof fitting a long metal liner down into the chimney.  Tom and Ryan did return a week later when we asked them to lower the height of the exposed liner visible from the top of the chimney.
Everyone involved was pleasant to work with. Tom and Ryan did a great job, and they cleaned up the work areas before they left.  Although we have not used the fireplace yet and do not anticipate any issues,  we feel confident if any problems or questions arise, they would be addressed promptly.  Should that occur, we can update the review.

    The Roofing Annex
Our sales rep was Travis and he is very professional and worked with my insurance adjuster during the whole inspection process. In addition to having our roof replaced, we installed new gutters,  chimney cap, and a power vent. I had a lot of questions regarding the details about what we were purchasing (i.e - power vent specs/wiring) and if Travis did not know the answer off the top of his head, he found the answers out and was in constant communication with me. Once we settled on everything we purchased, Tony was assigned as the project manager. He is also very professional and answered any questions I had during the roof installation process. We had one minor hiccup with a sub contractor, but Chad the owner called me and settled the issue promptly. Roofing Annex is a very professional company and I would recommend them to anyone.
