    Sohan & Sons Waterproofing Co
I wish I would have found them sooner! We have a house built in 1977 and back then they didn't put in a proper sump pump pit. It was a shallow hole lined by some composite paper tube with a flimsy metal lid. I have asked other companies for estimates in the past, but they either said they couldn't fix it, or the estimate was $3000-5000! Sanjeet came out the day after I called, told me he could give me a proper pit with a lid for $1200 and if I wanted a new pump, it would be $1450. Sold! I asked when I could get on the schedule and he said this Saturday. The crew showed up at 9:00am just like I was told, and the sump pump looks like it should now! I would suggest them to everyone.

    Neal's Design Remodel
My husband and I recently completed a six month whole house renovation using Neal's Design Remodel. I can't say enough good things about them. I was looking for a company that could handle a complete house remodel from start to finish. I read many online reviews for Neal's and was pleasantly surprised to find that some of the people had used them for more than one project. The nice thing about Neal's is that you only deal with three main people throughout your whole project. Our first contact was with Frank Kuhlmeier, he was our Project consultant. Frank was very professional, gave us a complete description of the services Neal's offers and described how they handle a project from start to finish. We were also very pleased to find out they offer a full two year warranty on their work. Frank handled working up the design details and the quote for the cost of the project. Once we signed on with Neal's they even provided an architect and engineer to work out some issues during the planning stage of the project. After the project began we were introduced to our Lead Designer Connie Hampton. She came to our house to look things over and get an idea of kind of look we were going for. My husband and I are not designers, so it was great that Neal's provides a designer to help you accomplish the look you had in mind. They even have their own design studio with all the tile and flooring samples you need in one place. Connie was great at showing us all of our options and helping us make our decisions, always keeping our budget in mind. The last person assigned to us was Drew Schroeder. Drew was our Project Manager. He did a fantastic job handling the day to day operations of the renovation. He provided weekly schedules of who would be working on the house and what was being worked on. He handled the scheduling of all the different trades people that worked on the project. He was also the person that answered all of my questions or concerns as the project moved along. Drew was somewhat of a perfectionist as am I, so he really paid attention to the details in the finishing work, which I greatly appreciated. Frank and Drew were also very accommodating to our ever changing list of additions to the project. Frank and Drew never avoided a phone call or text and always replied in a timely manner. In the end we ended up with a beautiful renovation. The quality of materials and workmanship is fantastic. Everyone who worked on our project did an excellent job. They pay very close attention to the details. Overall Neal's was great to work with and provided an excellent result. This is the only project we have done over the years where the result exceeded our expectations. Neals is definitely worth the investment, we would highly recommend them.

    Everdry Waterproofing of Cincinnati
Several months ago we had some water in our basement with the recent torrential rains and noticed some cracks in the poured concrete foundation of our 25 year-old house. I called Everdry primarily because I have heard Gary Sullivan talk about them on the radio and he carries some credibility. I made an appointment and Jeremy Eckstein, a "Foundation Specialist" came to the house and showed up on time (A for Punctuality). It went downhill from there. He inspected the inside of the basement and the outside and said that the problem was much more extensive than I was appreciating. Despite the fact that we have lived in the house for 25 years and only had problems recently in one area, we needed a whole basement solution. He presented 3 options- classic "used car salesman" strategy. The first was to use a backhoe and excavate all around the house disrupting all of the landscaping and sidewalks. The cost, a mere $48,174. I wonder how many of their customers go for this option. The second option was cutting out the perimeter of the basement floor, drilling weep holes in the footer and putting in a sump pump. only $22,764. The third option (and the one that you are directed to) is a "patented" system. I'm not sure how you patent something like this, but I digress. It involves hand excavating outside and doing the second option as well and putting in a ventilation system, despite the fact that in 25 years we have never had high humidity in the basement or mold. That option would be $31,198, but if we acted in the next few days we would get a $1,500 discount. When I looked skeptical, he said that "Bob" had offered that we could have our job done on a basis that would fill time for their crews who weren't busy and the job could be done sooner and at a price that was about 10% less, but that I needed to let him know that day (or the next morning at the latest). I said thank you very much and he left. At that point I looked at reviews of the company on the internet, including Angie's list and found reports of similar high pressure sales tactics, including relentless follow-up calls. Like clockwork, two days later I received a call from the same woman who originally took my information. She said that Jeremy had taken pictures of our job and shown them to someone else at "the warehouse". This other person had seen something in the pictures that made our house eligible for a "different approach that would be a lot less expensive". This exact tactic was reported in a few other reviews. I told her that I had read about their tactics on the internet and that I had no interest in doing business with their company. I asked that they not contact me again. They may well do good work, especially if you need everything done, but I will never deal with a company that employs this sort of sales tactic. I reported these tactics to Mr, Sullivan and he replied that he would look into it. I withheld this review since last year, but I just heard from an acquaintance who just had the same experience. I am left with some skepticism now when it comes to Mr. Sullivan as well.

    Stealth Foundation
Absolute home run! Steve and Dave are the 1st class team you want helping you through the stress of a foundation issue. They simply care. I had a very difficult to excavate, 4 pier garage stabilization project, right next to trees, electric, gas & data service lines, and irrigation system lines. Other companies would have ran for the hills just due to the amount of hand digging required. We started in December, and after excavating we found that the gas and electric line needed to be moved prior to pier installation. Then the Cincinnati area deep freeze came, freezing the ground and the project in its tracks. Then all the crazy rain came. After waiting months for the weather to cooperate, Stealth stuck by my side as I worked through the challenges of coordinating multiple Duke energy gas/electric crews to disconnect and reconnect the gas/electric lines. Stealth really proved that they were personally invested in every detail of my project.

    CINCINNATI HOME IMPROVEMENT COMPANY LLC
My 84-year old mother-in-law didn't like the original contractor we, as the homeowner, had selected, so she tried to find one on her own. She selected Chris because he was charming with her and she felt she could "relate" to him. After giving him a deposit to start work on the project, he basically disappeared for over 10 days and didn't return any phone calls or emails. So we decided to do some research on him, and found very scathing, poor...no, BAD...reviews about others' experiences with him. I wish we had researched him more in depth before my mother-in-law gave him money. Others have stated he has a history of coming up with a story to explain his absences and lack of response to calls and emails, and for not completing a job as promised. When he did perform a job, a lot of others stated there was poor quality and additional costs. He also seems to me that he changes addresses and moves his company around. His current address (with the same phone number) is now listed in Lebanon, not Harrison. With this information, and due to his lack of response to our calls, we decided to terminate the agreement, especially since we as the homeowners never agreed nor signed anything with him - it was just with my mother-in-law. He soon after responded with a story about how he had been called away on an emergency in Florida and someone else in his company was supposed to handle things but didn't. He promised to return my mother-in-law's deposit to her since no work had been performed, not even applying for permit (which he outright lied about having done). To date, the money has not been returned. The other reviews on him and his company are pretty accurate...I would not recommend hiring him. I cannot personally vouch for the quality of his work since he didn't do anything. But ethically, he gets an F in my book. I believe he has no business even being listed on Angie's List.

AA Moore Basement Finishing & Remodeling
Things were fantastic with Brad. He and his crew were extremely professional and respectful people. They were punctual and onsite every day. One of the key benefits of working with Brad, versus other contractors, is that he is onsite EVERY day! There is no run-around for changes to your original plan or questions about why something was built a certain way. Brad was very accommodating to our decisions, some of which changed in real-time, requiring him to proceed in a different direction than planned. Brad was happy to be flexible to ensure we were completely satisfied with the results. We will use Brad again for other remodeling projects in a heartbeat.

    Healthy Basement Concepts,LLC
Can I give a couple categories an A+, because Jason deserves it. We've been in our house about a year and have had 4 floods, we knew we needed to do something and I began to interview waterproofing companies. I can't tell you how many I went through, prior to Jason coming I had my mind made up, but wanted to keep his appointment "just in case". How sorry would I be if I had canceled it!!!! He was so thorough, taking everything into account and I just knew he was going to do the most complete job. We started the job on 6/27 and the very first thing that happened was the covering of all of our personal belongings in the basement. I don't mean just a simple sheet or plastic thrown over them that can fall off, but plastic sheeting taped to keep the dust and debris off of them as well as sheeting over the entry to the bottom of our basement steps. Each morning I received either a call or a text from Jason letting me know that the team was on the way and who to expect and when. The job finished on 6/29 and this is when you really see what sets Jason apart from other contractors and how he goes way, way above and beyond. When I went down for final inspection with Jason the floor was swept and mopped, all of the plastic draping was gone and anything that had gotten dust on it was wiped down. Jason went over everything with us regarding the system and answered any and all questions we had and even if it wasn't a part of the warranty I know would be available for problems in the future. I would not hesitate to recommend Jason to anyone and if we were to purchase another home in the future without a sump pump I know exactly who to call.

    Aaron-Andrew's Septic
It went great! I contacted many companies. Some wanted to charge for an estimate!? Aaron did the research on parts needed, gave me a timely estimate, kept in contact with me, and he and his crew got the job done. He even worked around the weather to minimize damage to my yard. In the end the estimate was spot on.

    Brian Thompson Building Contractors
As bad as you can imagine! Any and everything he touched went completely wrong and then on top of it the man will lie to your face. In example Mr. Thompson intentionally left out a design we had purchased and he promised to put in with the tile. Only after being called out for the action did he remove the tile and put in the design. There is too much more to list, he left a brand new tub completely scratched up with no replacement, did not caulk around the sink, did not use spacers for the tile work so the tiles are completely uneven, did not paint over the dry wall work, and even put the shower doors on backwards! I honestly believe high school kids in a construction course could do better work. Then he had the nerve to never show back up to fix the issues he took his check and ran. He should have been kicked off the job right away. Do not hire this man you will take business away from true professionals. Stay Far away!!!

    Crockett Home Improvement LLC
We selected Crockett Home Improvement from three contractors that we asked to provide initial quotes. We chose Crockett as one of the three based on their stellar ratings on this site, as well as word-of-mouth recommendations. Bob Crockett met with us to perform the initial walkthrough and quote, and was able to help us figure out the best way to use the space. Bob was also very flexible as we went through a few iterations of the layout to get things finalized. In the weeks leading up to the project, they communicated with us to let us know which design choices would need to be made, and when, to ensure a smooth project flow. Throughout the project, the Crockett team was polite, professional, and punctual. They arranged all of the subcontracted work that was needed, such as framing, drywalling, and plumbing, in addition to taking care of required inspections and ensuring everything (including existing infrastructure) was safe and up to code. While working, the team was very respectful of the rest of our house, and made sure they used dropcloths and cleaned up after themselves daily. They also regularly worked with us to make sure that the project was meeting our expectations. When something needed to be changed or adjusted (for instance, framers not leaving enough space around our utilities), they took care of it promptly. Also, the cost of the project was accurate to the initial quote, with no hidden charges or surprise additions along the way. We were very satisfied with the quality of the work and the attention to detail on our basement project, and are happy that we chose Crockett Home Improvement. We will definitely consider them again for future projects at our house. Thanks to Dave and Bob Crockett, and their team, for a great experience!
