    The Basement Guys - Pittsburgh
We had such a great experience using them in our previous home, we knew we wanted them back for our new home. Professional and no pressure process. They worked to get our project into our budget and gave a product we loved. They did a month's worth of work in three days and it was great. We definitely recommend.

    Concrete Pro's LLC
Answered calls right away--a simple thing but refreshing to see after my experiences with other contractors working on my new- construction home . Lori was very pleasant and helpful. She kept me updated along the way and helped arrange late-in-the-day appointments which worked better for me.  John was patient and went into great detail about process and products.  He also provided me with some advice about requesting some services from the company that poured the concrete (there were some gaps between the road and driveway that were likely caused by construction vehicles coming and going).  The cost was greater than I expected given the cost it would take to do it myself with products from Home Depot or Lowes but quality and cost of the professional grade sealant accounted for that and the durability of the treatment made it worth it.  They were very careful when power washing garage floor and applying the sealant not to get anything on the drywall.  Will definitely call them when it is time to renew the waterproofing.

    Gonzalez Basement Waterproofing LLC
Basement filled with water at the first rain after $6300 waterproofing!
Washer, dryer, and utility sink were disconnected and never reconnected although proprietor said he would as soon as the cement dried (that was 2 weeks ago).  Large hole left in wall where dryer vent should have been re-attached.
Considerable debris left behind which I hauled out personally.
Large hole burned in back yard lawn by workers dumping some sort of caustic liquid.  Two feet to the left there was dirt where they could have dumped the liquid and not killed any grass at all.
Proprietor said I'd get a copy of the city inspector's approval.  Never got it.  Proprietor said a new sump pump was installed but won't give me the owner's manual or show me a receipt.
Proprietor never checked for or asked about an existing sump pump. There was an exterior sump pump that had stopped working due to an electrical short.  It's possible that water backed up into my basement solely because that pump was off and the whole $6300 job was necessary in the first place.  I'll never know but always wonder....
Proprietor used long extension cord to connect interior sump pump to outlet on far wall of basement.  Proprietor left the cord lying on the floor, across the width of the basement.  I attached it myself to rafters via cup hooks.  Trip and fall hazard!  And the cord was lying on the wet (still wet) floor, possible in standing water in case of future flooding which indeed occurred at the next rain.

We would never consider using this company for any work.  All they did was try to push their "system".  We needed a single basement wall crack fixed and after the high pressure sales tactic you would think our 6 year old basement was crumbling down around us according to their salesman.  They only sell their "system" and do nothing else even though you need much less they push their product, not solve the homeowner's problem.

Well, they finished the job and it looks good. Building inspector came out and gave his approval. They do need to work on better communication with their customers on their scheduling and informing customer if they are not coming.

They did a fantastic job and went above and beyond what I was expecting. They put braces on my side walls cause they were starting to cave in. We just recently had a huge storm pass through and my basement was the only one in the neighborhood that was bone dry. Before this company came in the basement was unusable.

    Olivieri & Son, Inc
After seeing an article in a local paper and checking reviews on Angie's List, I called Olivieri and Son to schedule a time for them to come out and give me an estimate for repairing and waterproofing my basement wall.  I talked to Rocco Olivieri, who said he would come out to my house on August 6 at 5:00 to look at the job and give me an estimate.  He never showed. I tried calling him at 5:30 to find out where he was, and left a message on his phone.  I called him again, at 6:00 and left another message.  Not only did he not show up for the appointment; he didn't return my calls, offer an explanation as to why he missed the appointment, or offer to reschedule.  What was especially frustrating was that I had to travel an hour to get to the house.  This house was my parents, who are both deceased, and we are doing repairs so that we can sell it.  I traveled an hour to get there, waited an hour for him, and spent another hour getting back home.  After three hours of my time, plus the cost of gas, the guy never showed up for the appointment. This is poor customer service and very unprofessional.

Clink Builders & Contracting Co Inc
Dottie was very organized and timely with the quote and in answering any questions I had.  She got the job scheduled quickly and easily.  The crew arrived on time and began work promptly.  After removing the new siding then old siding and whatever was used as sheathy, very messy, the rotted timber was exposed.  Work stopped momentarily, the crew quickly came up with a solution & more importantly it didnt cost me more $.  1 crew member ran out for additional supplies while the other stayed and continued to work.  Again the additional supplies did not increase the quote.  The work was still completed on time, even with the unforseen problem that came up.  This is the first time I've used the company but had them out for another quote before this and they have always been easy to deal with and have always offered solutions & advice that was in my best interest.  Will definitely call them 1st on any future projects & highly recommend them to others.  I was crunched for time with this project and they were the only contractor who was able to get it done right and done fast.

    Ohio State Waterproofing
Ohio Waterproofing conned me into signing a contract the day that they visited my house, the next day I drove an hour to their headquarters so I could turn in a cancellation form in person. The next day they sent out the salesman and his boss. They tried to discuss the situation with me and remedy what they could, I simply asked them to leave my home.
They use high pressure sales techniques, they will show you gadgets as well as a short presentation on his iPad. This company seems to be all show and like I said ? high pressure.
