    Roszman Remodeling
They did a great job, priced reasonably, and it was all completed quickly within a day. James explained the whole process and gave a quote so we knew exactly what to expect. The crew arrived in the morning, bringing their own dumpster, and they immediately commenced working and were all finished and cleaned up by the afternoon. They gave me updates along the way so I knew progress and was informed of any issues they had encountered. I would definitely recommend Roszman Roofing to friends and family.

    Poling Family Renovations
Mr. Poling has been contacted on 8 different occasions.  He says he is going to remedy the situation.  Nothing has happened.  However, he did suggest we hang a picture over the hole in the kitchen wall, and switch to an electric fire.  He has met with representative of Heat and Glow about new venting for fireplace, which will require that a hole be cut in the new roof to accommodate new flu.  90 days should be sufficient for Mr. Poling to negotiate with Heat & Glow personnel about new vent instillation.

    EVANS HOME IMPROVEMENT
Was very professional and respectful of our property and landscaping.  They wouldn't drive in yard unless we told them it was okay.  They used a dump truck instead of dumpster, which in our case was convenient, at our home we was able to allow them to park directly under the eves and dump the old material right into the truck bed.  They put plywood from under the eves to the bed of the truck to act as a shoot and protect the windows and side of the house.  Also laid tarps down to catch anything that missed the truck. Workers were constantly running a magnet over the lawn and drive picking up nails.  When they left they had everything cleaned up. They made sure the existing decking was good, none needed replaced, but did have to tack a couple back down solid.  When they started the job on Monday morning around 8:30 a.m., the chance of rain was less than 20%, as the day went on the Weather Channel increased it to 40% overnight, so they continued to work til after 7 p.m. to get it done as much as possible.  They would have gotten done but was short by 4 shingles and had to return the next morning, which they were here by 8 a.m. and finished in less than an hour.  Before leaving Monday night they did make sure everything was rain tight just in case.
We did run our own magnet after they left and did find a few nails, just a small amount.  I have yet to have dealt with any roofer that got 100%, it's just something that goes with roofing, you need to double check.
The roof looks great. I will update my review if any problems, we should know very soon because Tuesday as they left it turned into 100% rain, so we should know if any problems.
Would recommend them again and may already have another job for them in spring to replace window in old farm house.
Update: Dec 31st we noticed water leaking in utility room, we called Jan 4th and they came out Jan 6th and found boot around vent pipe didn't seal so they tried to reseal\caulk.  Had to callback Feb 6th to let them know didn't work, still leaking. Toby (owner) came Feb 6th and determined the pipe vent and boot all needed to be replaced.  They came back Feb 17th and fixed. Have had verified in the attic that it is no longer leaking. The leak was caused by the way the vent pipe was poorly connected together years prior in the attic.  Evans replaced the vent pipe above the roof and below then connected in the attic properly and put a new boot on that fit and has sealed. The time frame from the 6th to the 17th was due to bad weather.  No extra charges.
We would still recommend Evans and would have them do future work.  They worked with us to fix the problem and was always prompt and courteous.  Things happen when working on older houses.  Main thing it's water tight and no leaks.  We are happy with Evans.

    Sherriff-Goslin Company

LOTS OF LIES. START WITH HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE.  WE WERE TOLD 3 DAYS AT LEAST 5 TIMES. 2 DAYS TO TAKE OFF AND PUT ON AND ONE DAY FOR GUTTERING.  THEY STARTED 7/13, AFTER A FEW CALLS FROM US TO GET THE BALL ROLLING, AND ENDED 10/10( WITH MANY CALLS INBETWEEN, TO JASON AND THE VICE PRESIDENT,WHO JUST TOLD JASON TO TAKE CARE OF IT). JASON HADDEN(OUR SALESMAN)MADE SUCH A BIG DEAL ABOUT HOW MUCH IT COST TO WHEEL BARROW IT COMPARED TO HAVING A DUMP TRUCK UNDERNEATH. FIRST CONTRACT, WANTED TO CHARGE FOR 3 LAYERS, AFTER REPEATEDLY TELLING HIM THERE WAS ONLY 2. 1ST CONTRACTE HE ALSO STATED THAT FOR "SOME REASON" THERE WAS NO BUILDING PERMIT NEEDED. SECOND CONTRACT SHOWED REMOVING 2 LAYERS ($700 LESS)  AND SAID HE COULDN'T GIVE MUCH BACK AND SHOWED BUILDING PERMIT WAS REQUIRED.  HE WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF THAT, AND AS FAR AS I KNOW, NEVER DID- AFTER SAYING SEVERAL TIMES HE WOULD..REMOVING OLD ROOFING, THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO PUT PLYWOOD AGAINST HOUSE TO PROTECT IT.  THEY DID NOT. TOTALLY SMASHED CACTUS GARDEN,PUT NAILS IN VINAL COVERED STEEL SIDING TO HOLD UP TARPS(WHICH DIDN'T WORK) HAD FRONT AND BACK PORCH COVERED WITH DEBRIS AND GUTTERING, AT THE SAME TIME.  THEY HAD TO MAKE A PATH SO I COULD GETS THE DOGS OUT FOR A POTTY BREAK.  CHIPPED UP THE RAILS AND GOT TAR ON THEM.  WHEN I HAD THE DOGS OUT FOUND THEY DID NOT REMOVE CHIMNEY. THEY HAD TO CALL TO GET THAT OKED. THEY DID NOT CARE ABOUT OUR PROPERTY OR OUR NEIGHBORS.  AFTER TELLING THEM THE LOT NEXT TO US BELONGED TO SOMEONE ELSE, NOT TO PARK THERE, THEY DID.  THE LEANED THE WOOD SHEETING AGAINST OUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS HOUSE. PART OF OUR HOUSE HAD SMEARS ALL OVER IT.  LOOKS LIKE THE BLACK DUST GOT ALL OVER IT AND THEY TOOK A WET RAGS AND JUST SMEARED IT ALL OVER. THE FRONT SUNROOM AND BACK PORCH ARE BOWED DOWN TO THE MIDDLE.  WAS VERY UPSET WE HAD ALL THIS DONE AND THEY DIDN'T GIVE US THE OPTION TO REPLACE ALL THE TRUSSES.  JASON SIAD THEY REPLACED 4 OR 5 OF THEM AT NO CHARGE. LET HIM KNOW THAT WE WOULD HAVE REPLACED ALL IF WE WERE GIVEN THE OPTION.  HE SAID THAT WAS HIS MISTAKE.  THAT WAS THE SAME MAN WHO MADE SUCH A BIG DEAL ABOUT THE LOOKS OF THE WHOLE ROOF.  WE WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE RIDGE VENTS PUT IT. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DO IT AND JUST PUT IN VENTS.  TALKED TO TWO OTHER CONTRACTORS SINCE AND THEY SAID THEY WAS NO REASON THEY COULDN'T USE A RIDGE VENT.  ON THE FRONT SUNROOM, THEY LEFT BARE WOOD INSTEAD OF WRAPPING WITH WHITE ALUMINUM.  WHEN THE GUTTER GUY CAME, ASKED HIM ABOUT IT AND HE SAID THEY DON'T LEAVE THE BARE WOOD.  HE CALLED JASON, THE SAME TIME I DID. BUT AT THIS POINT, JASON STOPPED ANSWERING MY CALLS AND WOULD NOT RETURN CALLS. GUTTER GUY GOT IT APPROVED AND COVERED IT.  SOME USED A FELT NAIL, WITH THE GREEN PLASTIC ON IT TO NAIL UP SOME ALUMUNUM.  HAD TO HAVE THAT REPLACED. I EXPECTED DEBRIS TO BE IN THE ATTIC, BUT THE ENTIRE ATTIC WAS COVER WITH AT LEAST 2-3 INCHES OF WASTE, WITH SOME PLACES AS MUCH AS A FOOT.OUR FRONT SUNROOF HAD BLACK SHINGLES REMOVED AND THE REST OF THE HOUSE WAS BROWN SHINGLES. THE SUNROOM HAS A WALL SEPARATING IT FROM THE ATTIC WITH W RED INDOOR/OUTDOOR OVERING AN OPENING (A FLAP)  THEY'RE WAS A FOOT OF  BLACK SHINGLES THERE, MEANING THEY HAD TO PUSH THEM THOUGH THE FLAP TO GET TO THE ATTIC. HOW MUCH MORE DID THEY JUST THROW IN THE ATTIC INSTEAD OF OFF THE ROOF AND TAKING IT AWAY.  I HAD TO CLEAN UP ALL THAT MESS. THEY KNOCKED OUT OUR DIRECT TV DISH AND WE HAD TO HAVE THAT REPLACED, AT THEIR COST. WE HAVE A BASKETBALL HOOP IN THE BACK YARD. THE ADULT MEN WENT AHEAD AND USED IT.  MUST OF HAD SOME TIME TO SPARE BEFORE GOING BACK TO DAYTON.  MY HUSBAND SAW SOMEONE GO BEHIND OUR SHED.  HE WENT OUT TO CHECK IT OUT AND THERE WAS AN EMPLOYEE URINATING THERE.  THIS PLACE IS OPEN TO  A SET OF APARTMENTS, WHICH A SHERIFF OFFICE LIVES AS WELL AS WOMEN AND CHILDREN.  I WONDER HOW MANY TIMES THAT WAS USED FOR THAT PURPOSE. WHEN THEY CUT THE HOLES FOR THE ROOF VENTS, LOOKS LIKE THEY SAWED SOME , THEN JUST HAMMER THE REST OF THE HOLE OUT.  HUGE JAGGED CUT.  THEY SAID THEY TOOK A MAGNET OVER EVERYTHING, BUT I COLLECT A BOX OF NAILS, WHICH I GAVE THEM TO GIVE TO JASON. SOME OG WHICH WAS IN OUR STONE PARKING AREA. THIS WAS POUNDS OF NAILS.  ALSO AT LEAST 75-100 RUBBERBANDS.THE SHEET OF WOOD THEY PUT IN WHERE TOOK OUT THE CHIMNEY, THEY HAVE A SEAM GO RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE BETWEEN 2 TRUSSES.I WAS TOLD THAT WOULD BE A WEAK SPOT AND THE ROOF WOULD BOW THERE AND PROBABLY LEAK DOWN THE LINE.  I HAD TO MAKE NUMEROUS CALLS TO JASON BECAUSE NO ONE SHOWING UP WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO. THEY DID A LOUSEY JOB OF CLEANING UP.  PARTS OF SHINGLES AND WOOD ALL OVER. JASON NEVER COLLECTED THE BILL FOR THE DIRECT TV DISH, SO WE JUST SENT IT ALONG WITH THE FINAL PAYMENT. DEDUCTING THE AMOUNT FOR REPLACING THE DISH, AS PER THE OFFICE. WE WENT WITH THIS COMPANY BECAUSE THEY PUT SHINGLES ON OUR ROOF BACK IN 1988.  THIS CREW OF 4 DID A WONDERFUL JOB AND DID IT AS LOT QUICKER THAN THE, AT LEAST, DOZEN GUYS THIS TIME. AND THEY ONLY TOOK 2 WKS!!

    Ley Construction, LLC.
I paid about $8,000 for my roof. They did not cover anything up before tearing off the roof. They threw trash everywhere, they ruined some of my shrubs, they had their music up high the entire time. I asked them to come out and pick up the trash, my yard was a complete mess. I have called over and over about getting my contract, he will not send it to me or respond to any of my messages. I only have a receipt of a cashier's check for the payment that they cashed. They did not even finish the job painting. I do not have a written warranty. I paid him in full before the project was completed.

    Steve Foust

I had used this contactor in the past and was very happy with his work, that is why I went with his proposal. Steve Foust put in a written bid of $6930. I got a second bid for $6050. I emailed that information to Steve and he verbally gave a $6000. bid to undercut my other bid and I accepted. I paid the ½ down, $3000., Steve and his new partner, Brent Frobase started the job and realized the back of the house had 3 sets of shingles and wanted $1600. More. They called me, I said no and told them if the resident wanted to pay it, okay. They told me if I stopped the job, I would get my down payment back but failed to tell the resident, so assuming I wouldn?t get my money back, she accepted verbally. She called me later, not able to pay that amount and by the time I got over there, they had torn off a considerable amount of shingles, so had to re-negotiate. I went back to the written proposal of $6930, but Steve said he had a verbal agreement of the $1600., but I told him, I had a verbal agreement of $6000 before this $1600. I agreed to pay the $6930 and the resident had to pay $400 for the materials for the dormers which made the job $7300. I had to negotiate this because of what they had torn off. I also heard Brent tell Steve, he was poor at writing up proposals, that he was too cheap. They got to the back porch and decide they couldn?t do it because the wood was rotten and they said the foundation was unsafe and it would take $5000 to re-build it. I have since had a 2nd opinion and was told that the foundation is okay, but the wood needs replaced. I called Brent, told him I wanted the supplies for the back porch that I had paid for delivered, 6 pieces of sheeting, the new rubber and termination strips. He said he would deliver this Saturday with exception of 4 pieces of sheeting that he said was already there under the tarp on the porch that I had them install before they left. With all the rain and leakage, they are probably ruined. I am going to have the 2nd opinion repair the back porch which means, they still owe me labor and hardware. I have since had to call back Brent to fix a large leak. I spoke to him at that time as to why Steve would not correspond with me, Brent said because the resident had called Steve a name and also refused to give the resident a receipt for the $400 she paid.

He also complain to the resident that he didn?t paid well enough for the former job he did for me, but I paid him everything he wrote up and he seemed happy at that time.

This person that I used as a second opinion also gave an estimate and said he knew at least 2 set of shingles were there and would not have charged for the 3rd set. The job was over charged by $1250 from the agreed proposal.

Make sure you get everything in writing, don't accept an oral proposal.

It did not go well at all. He did not do the job. But, took the money and did not deliver the material to us. We were unable to find him although we sued against him already. At first, he kept calling us in saying that all his crews were in jail and will not be able to do the work himself. Overall, I am grading him a F. I am not going to use him in the future.

    Roszman Remodeling
Roszman Remodeling promptly returned my phone call (unlike several other roofing businesses I called).  Set up a time to inspect my roof and was punctual.  I had originally anticipated the need to replace my roof, but Roszman's determined the repair was much smaller.  He was very honest, when other contractors could have easily taken advantage of the situation.  I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing an honest estimate.

Work was completed quickly and professionally. No radios blasting or loud socializing was going on while working the guys combed the yard thoroughly looking for debris, nails, etc after work was completed.

After the first heavy rain with the new roof there was a water leak in the soffit of the front porch. They responded quickly and rectified the problem.

They left some minor scuffing on siding from throwing old shingles. Was told they return to clean but never saw anyone. we ended up taking care of it ourselves with a magic eraser.
Overall, impressed with their professionalism, from quote to the end of the job. Impressed with the clean up, for the most part.

These guys were a little bit higher priced than other estimates we received, but we went with them because the job is completed in one day and we didn't have to deal with loud workers, music, etc for several days.
