My immediate denture, for which they took impressions of my natural teeth, was flat across the front. Aspen called to cancel my next-day appointment and remade it for the following Monday. I could not even put the immediate denture in because it fit so badly. When I went back, I had four dry sockets that were infected and was in tears because of the pain. Basically, they only gave me pain pills and antibiotics and set me up for 6 weeks later. It is now February, 2018, nearly 2 1/2 years. I have had 14 wax try-ins, and 6 sets of dentures. I have not been able to chew anything not very soft in all this time. I have a wax try-in next week. The upper is not quite what I wanted and does not fit very well, but I can tolerate it. The lowers are a joke. The molars on the top and bottom do not touch--I have to shift my lower jaw far to my left to get my teeth to meet. Since I started all this more than two years ago, the franchise office was sold to a different dentist and most of the staff have changed. Honestly, the new owner is very kind, but I still do not have an acceptable denture. The dentists and the lab seem basically incompetent. I would go somewhere else, but I spent my savings account on these dentures. Please, so yourself a favor and do not use Aspen Dental.

They provide a whole health approach, which I liked.  They also have a full pharmacy on-site and accommodated patients for regular service, emergency service, patients with insurance, patients without insurance, with Medicaid, etc.

I left before she was done. I have never done anything like that before, but she was beyond horrible. I've never experience a doctor or dentist who was that rude before and hope I never do again. Top that with the 2 1/2 hour wait.. ASPEN DENTAL IS A JOKE.

First off, my appointment was scheduled for 6:15. I didn't even get called out of the waiting room until 7:45.
I was there for another hour after that. I spent most of that hour sitting in the chair waiting. And this whole appointment was just for a consultation! I didn't even get anything done except x-rays that took 20 minutes.
The whole experience was horrible and demeaning. I felt like the dentist had absolutely no respect for my time, my thoughts, or for  me as a person. She acted like she knew everything and I knew nothing.
To top it off, she came up with almost $3000 in dental work that I "need" done. I went to my old dentist today for a second opinion and the work I need done will total less than $400. Aspen Dental is a joke!

The main dentist was also very thorough in explaining my dental condition. Excellent bedside manner. In fact, everyone was GREAT! For this visit only. But then they told me I couldn't have a normal cleaning because I had the start of periodontal disease based on the numbers assigned during the exam that measured the amount of receding gums. I supposedly needed root canals and crowns and some fillings, in addition to the "root planing and scaling". All this after thinking I needed a checkup and cleaning. Sure, I may need a filling or two.
After the consultation with the dentists and hygienists and X-ray tech, I met with the financial counselor (business manager). Also very nice. Based on what the dental team told her, I would need about $4000 worth of work. I was completely shocked. We discussed options and financial considerations. She gave me a discount and also suggested I look into Careington 500, which is a dental discount plan, not a true reimbursement dental plan. I bought the plan online ($150/yr) and then went back to discuss schedule and costs. The total costs came down to $2300.
I opted to start with the root planing and scaling (RP&S). I was told it would be 1.5-2.0 hours and if I needed anesthetic they would do that. I'm thinking, "this is going to be bad."  Well, it took 30 minutes. Nothing more than a decent cleaning. I had paid $800 up front for the RP&S, and 2 fillings, still owing $1500 on "the dental plan" for everything else.
Bottom-line, I finally realized what they were doing. They are a public company (ADMI) and have high accountability to the Board, CEO and other execs, as well as stockholders. They are owned by a private equity company.  I said I wanted to terminate the dental plan and get my money back, except for the cleaning. She then tried to tell me, they only did part of the RP&S, that's why it only took 30 minutes. The company makes money by taking advantage of those they perceive have no other options.
Bottom-line, I did get a refund of about half of my money. So, $400 for a cleaning and checkup. NOT a good deal. I actually feel bad for the people that have to work there and do the pressure tactics to sell unnecessary dental work. Their business model could really be good if it weren't for the heavy selling up. They should just communicate honestly and charge a fair price! Stop cheating good people, even if you don't mean to. Except this IS the plan of the owners of Aspen.
Highly recommend NOT using Aspen. Talk to a good dentist and explain your financial situation if you think you must go to Aspen. Also check with community colleges where they have a Dental Technologies program. They do cleaning and exams for the public for a very low price. It takes longer, because they are training, but well worth the thoroughness and cost. My dentist recommended this to me. They send all records and x-rays to my dentist.
My wife had a similar experience. If you are considering Aspen, do your homework!

The dentist and a couple of dental assistants really stand out. They have good bedside manners and are very personable. I had a root canal that got an abscess in it; I called them up and they got me right in. They were very friendly, nice and offer free water in their waiting room. The waiting room has a fireplace; it is really nice; it is like an upscale dentist's office.

I have been going to Aspen Dental for the last six months. I don't highly recommend them. I think they are good for partials and a teeth cleaning, but not for things like crowns. The price is very good, but they are very disorganized. Sometimes they get you right in for your appointment, and sometimes I have waited for hours. The staff is very friendly.

It had been five years since my last dental cleaning when I arrived for this one and when I left, I couldn't believe how clean the hygienist was able to make my teeth!  Overall, It went quite well.  I was greeted upon approaching the desk and treated well as I encountered other staff.  The dentist was a nice guy like the hygienist.  When the hygienist showed me to the check out counter, the people working that desk were uninformed, but thankfully the rest of the staff is able to fill them in on what they may not know.

They were in-network for my new insurance provider.  They are supposed to provide 2 free cleanings a year, as well as exams and xrays for free (exams and xrays are always free at this time).  They wouldn’t perform my cleaning for free, citing periodontis disease, so the cleaning would’ve $1200.  After I went to two other dentists, including my dentist that I’d been seeing for 25 years, they both said that I didn’t have that disease.

My experience with him has been very good. He treats me well. He cleans your teeth himself. He wants to know whats happening in the mouth, he doesn't let anybody else do the cleaning. He's very good about tolerating pain. He talks to you as a person. He's a great dentist. I would recommend him.
