    Finished Basements Plus Inc.
Our initial estimate with Brian was wonderful, he was professional, personable, kind, and very informative. He brought a portfolio of completed basements and that was great to see. The estimate that was given to us was not changed from the initial estimate to the finished product. We personally wanted a few additions which cost a little extra but that is to be expected. I also was grateful that all inspections were completed and passed, as there were multiple throughout the process. Todd was wonderful to work with and was really on top of his team. Each team he brought in to work was professional and efficient. Todd stays on top of his teams and also kept us informed. He was willing to discuss the project with me continually and never got frustrated at my continual questions. I felt like we developed a professional relationship with Todd and his team and we will miss seeing them work on our basement. The final product is beautiful and more than I could have imaged it to look like. Overall I would say Todd has a solid business that I would recommend. He clearly takes pride in his work and clients and it is important to him that his clients are happy and the job is done properly. He respected our home and space and ensured his team did as well, always cleaning up after themselves. Hire Todd and his team for your basement project completion!

    Ansten Handyman Services
Tony was great! He was flexible with our timing and was able to remove the shower doors, patch and prime then paint the first day. He came back the next day to do a second coat for the bathroom and paint our outdoor patio table. I was impressed that he was willing to tackle this job as the other handyman I interviewed was unwilling to paint the patio table (painting metal legs and frame with a metallic paint and paintbrush, not spray paint). His offer was slightly higher than the other handyman, but I felt that the money was well spent for a professional who was willing to tackle all the areas I needed, and I felt that I could trust Tony in my home to get everything done.

    CertaPro Painters of Columbus
Painting was average, but there was an extreme lack of communication and proper supervision of employees. Painted empty house to prepare for market. Employees broke thermostat, several blinds, and a toilet and left a disgusting mess. Ownership did not care or reimburse, stated we got a good deal on the job as they underestimated it. Will never use them again.

    The Super
Jeff "The Owner" from The Super is fantastic! I could not ask for a better quality contractor or person to ever have worked with! I have hired him multiple times since he first install a beautiful Back Deck on my first starter home over 8 years ago. At my latest home I hired Jeff to do flooring, paint, and all kinds of other odds and ends that as always turned out amazing! Jeff is so trustworthy and professional he actually has a key to my house that he holds onto for whenever I need something repaired! He is hands down the best contractor that I have ever had the experience of working with! I absolutely will not use anyone else!

    Finished Basements Plus Inc.
The finished product is very nice and we are pleased with how everything looks in the end. However....Todd was difficult to work with. Our requests and inquiries during the finishing process were often met with comments such as "what would you want to do that for?" instead of working with us. For example, we asked them to build a bar area/desk between 2 posts (in an effort to make better use of the space since the posts are positioned right in the middle of a main space). We met with quite a bit of resistance from Todd, apparently because he didn't want to have to run electrical to the area. Later, when it was time to have countertops installed in that area, he told my husband that we would likely be able to have only 12" of countertop for the desk because the structure wouldn't be able to support a greater depth. This was very frustrating since we explained what we wanted in the beginning......it turned out that the installers were able to brace the countertop and install as we had wished. During the finishing process, we provided Todd with a garage code so that his crew could enter our house to work while we were not home during the week. He and his workers used the code and entered our house without knocking or announcing themselves on a regular basis. Maybe this is typical of contractors, but from a customer service standpoint I would think ringing the doorbell first should be routine. I was very upset one Saturday near the end of the project when Todd let himself into my garage when I was home with our children (and certainly not expecting him on a Saturday!) to come in and take some measurements. During this visit he attempted to leave flooring samples for the 1/2 bath that we were to choose from. When I explained that we were already in the process of choosing tile from Home Depot, he started to argue with me that I had to choose from his samples. Our contract clearly stated that we had a per-square-foot allowance for both carpet and tile. Had I not been very assertive with him, he would have bullied me into choosing from the samples (which were not what we wanted....vinyl I think). Various other issues occurred during the project....his crew drywalled over a heat vent in the ceiling of the basement. Instead of correcting it right away, he waited until the ceiling was stamped and drywall finished and painted. They cut into the soffit beside the vent to figure out where the vent was, then put a plastic cover over the large hole that was made rather than fix the drywall. It looks rather silly. Same issue with the refrigerator water shutoff valve in the ceiling....they waited until everything was finished instead of cutting out an access when they should have, so now the access point is in the wrong place and the valve is very difficult to reach. Near the end of the project, the plumbing inspector arrived to our home for the final plumbing inspection, but the crew wasn't there. The inspector left a notice on the front door which stated "DO NOT REMOVE" and that the inspection must be rescheduled and there would be a $50 fine. My husband and I were at work, but my MIL was here with one of our kids and had seen the notice on the door. Todd removed the notice, and so my MIL questioned him about it. He told her WE would need to reschedule the inspection & pay the $50. Knowing how this project had been going, she (thankfully) told him that we weren't responsible since HIS workers were not present when they should have been. Again, we are very pleased with the end product, and I would like to point out that most of the actual workers who worked in our home were friendly and did a good job. Unfortunately working with Todd was not an overly pleasant experience, but we do appreciate that the job was completed to our liking in the end.

    Baker Group Remodeling
We were very pleased as they actually did more than we expected and we were completely satisfied with the entire process. We were able to leave for a week while they completed the flooring with out any concerns or worries. When we returned home, the job was completed and we were able to resume living in our home with our new floor .

    Above And Beyond Painting LLC
Responded to phone call for estimate in a timely manner. Showed up for appointment and the day of the job on time. Tim, the owner, meets with his customers before the work is complete and checks in during and after. His Team is very good and their tenure with the company is impressive. Same guy that worked on our house almost 5 years ago. Tim treats his employees and his customers well. I have referred him several times in the past and received good feedback. You can't go wrong with this company. Tim even came back the next day to rehang the insulation that was taken down after we decided we wanted it rehung.

Outstanding service - The owner Tim Barton and his crew are through and through professionals committed to high quality work. Very reasonably priced as well! They even went out of their way to re-paint an entire wall after I changed my mind about the color for no additional cost. The crew were prompt and meticulous at all times. Tim personally did a walk through of the entire job to make sure that I was completely satisfied. We most definitely will be re-hiring this company for our exterior paint job next Spring! Jas Assi

My Handy Mate LLC Improvement & Remodeling
The Holderby Brothers run a good business and they seek long-term relationships with homeowners.  This is a good approach and results in a better understanding of the needs of the client.  In my case, I have had them do "handy" work like handing new lights, installing custom chair rails and wainscoting, as well as larger projects like my Stacked Stone custom wall.  They come out a walk the space, which is a process for homeowner to present vision and needs, budget, etc.  Then they provide a written quote with materials, labor and price.  Be sure to ask for separate quotes if you have them look at multiple projects in same visit.  I liked this approach because I was able to prioritize and budget for each project and then decide which ones to start and when.
They are very low-pressure, and will offer flexibility to allow you to bring your own products or have them procure the materials. One example of this was in doing the concrete backer drywall for my wall.  They recommended that, and the result is a sturdier installation!  The owners are very involved, if they use full-time workers or if the special need is to bring in a sub-contractor.
They are very comfortable with current technology...you can sign things electronically, get receipts to your email, send photos of your desired look (i used a lot of pinterest photos,,,haha), and have an office staff that is available and responsive.
    Overall, great company.

    Fresh Touch Custom Painting Inc.

Awesome!! Worker was punctual, courteous, professional, and willing to put up with me changing my mind a few times!  He went straight to work with all of his own tools and supplies - there was no dawdling or playing around - he stayed focused and completed the jobs very well.  And then he cleaned up after himself - vacuuming and taking out the trash.

I wanted to add something else - I was asking about some specialized painting jobs in the future with him and his boss.  They were honest and told me that they did not have that expertise - they did not try to take advantage of me in accepting a job they could not complete well. And they told me ways to find what I needed on Angie's List. I was very impressed with their work ethic.
