Home Security System reviews in Lebanon

So far great. I called for an estimate, the sales guy wanted me to purchase of course but wasn't overbearing. We got the system shipped to us. This is a DIY install, so just know that going in if you buy one. Also, there is a one year or 3 year contract, and if you want out of the contract, you will pay 80% of the remaining contract. The sales guy was very upfront and clear about that. If you move you can take your system/contract with you, or transfer it to the next homeowner. There are videos you can watch about installing, as well as a manual -- took a little looking on the website but there are multiple helpful manuals, call and ask if you can't find them. Also, calling the tech guys for help was easy, I was able to get through with little or no wait, and they were patient and very helpful each time. Having never installed a security system, it took us an evening rather than 15 minutes, but we have old doors that are not flush with the jams and needed to figure out how to line up the door sensors. That, and figuring out where to place the motion detectors, was all that really took time, it wasn't too bad. The base unit worked fine from the start, the voice has a pleasant British accent when "she" talks to you. You can arm your system and disarm with their keychain remote, but that left us unsure whether the system was in fact armed. (Couldn't hear the nice British voice through our door). Using our mobile phones seems better for us, the package where you can use your phone does cost $10 more per month but seems worth it to us. I did look into another very similar DIY system from another company that was less per month with no contract, and read many reviews. It seemed that other's experiences with customer service was sometimes good, sometimes not, and some had good experiences with the equipment, some didn't. We decided Front Point is worth the extra $ rather than take a chance. As far as cost, we got 2 door sensors, 3 motion detectors, base unit, stickers and sign for $99, our monthly fee is $45 with a 3 year contract.

They came and installed everything except for the flood sensor. The one the technician had was broke. No big deal. They would order a new one and come and install it.After many attempts to contact the local sales people and changes to the company service structure the sensor was finally installed on 7/29. It worked for approx 1 week. Contacted them again to get it fixed and then we start again on setting appointments up that they call and cancel again.
So If it is a basic system without and none  typical components this may be worth a try.If you have any specialty requirements or require a water sensor don't unless you can stay home may day and are willing accept  many missed appointment and rescheduling.

Once the contract was signed, they made arrangements for us to meet with their installation supervisor (he also supervised the entire job). Patrick then made arrangements with our builder to install their systems. All the wiring was done prior to the Sheetrock being installed. Patrick worked closely with us to insure all was wired exactly where we wanted them. Brink's returned before closing to finish installing wall outlets, detectors, etc. Due to the large number of wires involved, Patrick made sure every wire was labeled (both ends) so we could easily find it if need be. He also marked a copy of my husband's drawing so we could also tell which wire went where. After closing, Patrick returned to go over the entire system with us. Since then, we have had them out twice. Both times involved one of the many connectors (one LAN, one speaker) not working. They were here within 24 hours to repair the problem.

Dave Hoerst, their representative, came out to our house and was the contact in this process. Dave proposed one package that was similar to the proposal from ADT (check my other review of ADT for this job.) Protection One proposed to install security detectors and new security hardware of their own, and to just sell me "loose" hardwired 120 volt smoke detectors to meet county code, which was then my problem to hire an electrician to install. As stated in the ADT review, my electrician would then charge $1200 on top of that to install the detectors and run their wiring. Dave also investigated a "low voltage" system that would meet county code, but this was a commercial level system that his management did not want to bid for a residence. So basically, they had what would amount to another high-cost solution for this problem.

It didn't "go". I dealt with Vince, a representative in their office, by phone only. Vince did go to the trouble of contacting the county inspector assigned to my den project and worked out with him a system that would meet county standards. But when I called back to follow up, Vince informed me that Dial One had made an executive decision based upon my call that they were not in the business of installing "life critical" security systems, only supplementary systems that monitored residences, and that they did not want the business!!!!

A representative, Casey Gamel, responded almost immediately to my call and came out and supplied a written estimate. The estimate was for ADT to only install security (break in) detectors to the new den, and to just sell me six "loose" hardwired 120 volt smoke detectors, which was then my problem to hire an electrician to install. ADT's price for this package was $1074. My electrician had already quoted about $1200 for labor to install the detectors. So ADT's "solution" was going to cost me about $2300 and they would not even provide an integrated installation.
