Home Builder reviews in Lebanon

    J Schmidt Homes LLC
We hired Jason Schmidt to build our home last fall/winter 2016. We interviewed several home builders and we decided Jason would be the best for the job. We were completely wrong to say the least. House is not complete and we are still fighting to finish. Our master shower did not work the first night we moved in and instead of sending someone over right away it was 3 days later when the plumber showed up. The concrete trucks washed out by our driveway and it's still there today. Our driveway was never finished due to poor estimating. Our basement floor is ruined as we told him in the beginning we were going to stain them, but the dry walkers did not lay any plastic or clothes down to catch the drywall mud. Now he's mad he has to clean it instead of just the regular damp mop. Not our fault. Our backyard was not graded properly. He was off on every estimate he gave us and now he wants us to pay him more money for overages. He does not plan on making things right therefore we will not be ending on a good note. Luckily my family is in real estate if things don't go correctly! There will be more reviews after mine making him look good as this has happened on other sites. Just warning you to beware of the work he does!

    JOHN HENRY HOMES
Buying this home from John Henry has been a terrible experience. They have not followed through and contractual obligations despite multiple attempts to mitigate. Our cabinet moulding fell off our cabinets within six months, our porch was sliding off the house and they initially painted our house the wrong color. The drywall was never repaired and our dishwasher was not properly installed. When complaints are made no one takes responsibilty and fingers get pointed in every direction. As much as I want neighbors, I feel sorry for anyone who would choose to build with Jon Henry.

    Budke Builders Inc
Both projects went well. Tom is very personable and easy to work with. As I recall, the floor installation took about two days. They did an excellent job matching the floor to our existing entry and kitchen floor. Tom came back the next week to add a requested coat of polyurethane.

    Brookstone Construction Group
He did a beautiful job to my exact specifications (down to the type and placement of outlet/lights where I wanted them placed).  I was very specific on everything.  He was extremely accommodating making sure I was very happy. I  have since sold that house and am having him finish the basement in my new house.  That is how please I was from the first work he did.  We received many compliments on our first basement remodel. When we sold our house, we know the superior design and quality construction is what helped sell our house in 2 weeks.
I would highly recommend this contractor if you want to build a house or if you have any remodeling you want done.
Quality work!  Doesn't cut corners.  Superior service.

    Jack H Wieland Builders Inc
I happened to be on Angie's list, seeking a local builder to add a detached garage to our home, when I saw Wieland with an F rating, chuckled, then moved on.  However, I was drawn back out of curiosity and after reading the previous review and classic (unprofessional) Wieland response, I felt compelled to share our "disgusting" experience.
We built with Wieland in 2003, which - after building one home prior - was comparatively awful.  There were delays, lack of (and inconsistent) communication and follow through, nickel and diming, etc, from the time our contract was signed through our closing (which we should not have done, given the number of "open" items).  However, the worst part was QUALITY.  Within days of moving in, our dishwasher leaked, and our plumbing simply did not work.  They had to jackhammer our basement floor and run a snake, only to learn a piece of concrete was in our pipes.  This was after DAYS of contractors in and out of our new home.  Soon after, our hot water heater stopped working and prior to us moving 7 years later, it had to be replaced AGAIN.
While I now fully recognize the difference between production and custom builders, please don't be fooled by the name, and instead trust that Wieland is a production builder.  If quality is important to you, find another builder.

    Potterhill Homes
Simply put: We are disappointed with the level of quality that Potterhill Homes provided when they built our home and of the level of service they provide when they address warranty issues. In fairness, we will reserve additional comments until after they have had more opportunity to make resolutions and for when our experience is more complete..

    PENDRAGON HOMES
The finishing of the home (paint, trim, dry wall seams) was poor quality. We asked Pendragon to repaint the exterior of the home and fix the nail pops and other interior blemishes before the closing. They repainted the exterior of the house; but advised us that the interior defects would be addressed one year after closing as more of these items would likely appear. Indeed, they did, including more nail pops, peeling paint, dry wall separating at the seams, and loose floorboards. When we contacted them for service, they did not return phone calls and disclaimed any responsibility to provide any post sales service. We contacted them shortly after the closing to report that we could not get the gas fireplace to work. They advised us that they contractor was out of business and did not offer any help. We hired someone on our own to fix it. They claim that they have no responsibility for post sale service since they purchased a "home warranty" policy on our behalf. None of these issues were covered by the policy. I have purchased newly constructed homes from both Drees, in Northern Kentucky, and Kensington Homes, a small builder in Cleveland, who are both far superior to Pendragon in their customer service.

    Scott Fornshell
He has always given me good advice. He is very dependable, honest, and never tried to gouge me. He is a good quality builder, there is no doubt about that. He is an awesome, meticulous builder. His price may be a little higher than others but it is because the quality is so impeccable.

    Robert Lucke Group
They spoiled me! We've been in the house for a year now and the foreman still stops in to make sure everything is okay. That's what you call dedication and professionalism. The price was very reasonable for the quality of workmanship they put forth. We added a few things to the house that they had never done (like radiant heat in the basement floor, handicap roll-in shower, and geothermal heat, etc.) and they worked well with all our plans and the subcontractors we had to bring in for these jobs. They built in an elevator shaft for us so that in the future we could easily add all the mechanics.
