    It went well. The gentleman came out and he was on time. He provided a quote that explained what he discovered and determined the best course of action that we need to do. He is very straight forward in explaining what is needed and which one is optional. They came out and initiated the work 1 week later, they came out at 8:30 in the morning and did the work with minimum impact that only requires electricity and finished the work at 6:00 in the evening. They cleaned up after themselves, the result of the inspection were all accurate. To sum it up, everything they did was perfect!

    I had a home inspection performed by Pillar to Post on 6 July 2016. The inspector walked me through his findings on that day and provided a detailed report the following evening. The report noted that all major appliances were inspected and were working. It noted that there was a leak in the trap of the downstairs bar sink. It noted that the main garage door was disconnected and that the operator did travel correctly. After closing on the property on 3 August, along with my contractor, I discovered that the downstairs bar refrigerator was not working. I contacted Pillar to Post on 4 August and was told that the inspector would contact me that night to come out and fix my refrigerator. I received no response from him. I called the company on 5 August and was given the number to the owner. The owner contacted me back and informed me that the inspector would contact me that weekend (either 6 or 7 August) to fix the problem. (I notified the owner that construction was to start on my kitchen on 8 August, so it was imperative that the refrigerator either be fixed or replaced by then, to which the owner assured me everything would be taken care of that weekend.) The weekend came and went with no contact from anyone at Pillar to Post. I called the office and the owner multiple times and did not receive a response to any of my messages. The morning of 8 August, my contractor came by to fix the leak in the trap of the basement sink. He turned the faucet on to see where the trap was leaking and the faucet sprayed water everywhere. The broken faucet was not listed in my report. My contractor also came over attach the garage door to the operator. He noted that the operator had been torn from the door with no way to re-attach them without manufacturing a bracket. I called Pillar to Post this morning and left a message for the owner to contact me, I also left a voicemail on his personal line. I have not heard from anyone at Pillar to Post since Friday 5 August. The company has known about failures of the inspection report to report the broken refrigerator, the broken faucet, and the corrupted garage door. It has been 4 days and Pillar to Post has not attempted to fix any of these issues. I am now living in a house with the water shut off (to fix the downstairs sink), no refrigerator (because construction has started on the kitchen), and a un-usable garage door.

    There was a crack in the concrete front porch floor that leaked water to the below storage area causing mold and water damage. After the crack was repaired Ram removed the mold and rebuilt the support structure that was damaged. They did a good good at a fair price.

    Read all the positive reviews about Rich, especially the one about the out-of-state customer who couldn't be present during the inspection. We were living in California and unable to make it to the inspection, and assumed we would get the same level of great service we had read about.

    We thought Rich was going to go over the report with us on the phone like he had with one reviewer. Getting Rich to get back to us to discuss the report proved somewhat frustrating and took a couple of days. When my husband finally did speak to him, Rich didn't do anything beyond answering specific questions we had.

    We are now kicking ourselves that we weren't present during the inspection. He missed many items that are running us into extremely costly immediate repairs:

    • Leaking roof requiring an immediate $5225 repair (damage visible on master ceiling)
      • Three roof valleys (visible from ground) that were installed incorrectly and need immediate replacement ($5985)
      • Leaking shower that renders the master bath shower unusuable
      • Toilet seats unattached to toilets
      • Rotting basement stairs
      • 2nd floor landing unsupported by structural beam or load bearing wall. Large section of the landing has separated from wall and dropped about 2 inches. 
      • Theromostats whose electric connections turn on heat in opposite rooms
      • Black mold growing in garage due to broken gutter (pointed out to us by a contractor who couldn't believe it was overlooked during an inspection)
      • Rows of loose bricks on front porch, rendering the steps hazardous
      • A good majority of the windows in the house are painted shut
      • Electric switches that don't work correctly (they make popping sounds or need to be jiggled to function)

    Puroclean were here very promptly right after I called our insurance company. Although they were very courteous, they were a little too ambitious. I had to put a stop to several things they wanted to do.

    When working with any company, I try to be clear with my expectations and educated about what I want them to do. I am very pleased with the Environmental Doctor company's service. 
    Under the previous owner, I first did business with them more than 15 years ago. At that time, the company installed a whole-house HEPA filter, Radon mitigation system, and Reverse Osmosis water filter.  Altogether, the company has done work for me on 3 houses, including mold removal and mitigation. They are not the least expensive provider, but their attention to quality and service is better than  two other HVAC companies and Environmental Doctor is only one I still use.  Quality service is worth a premium when it is consistent and Environmental Doctor has not disappointed me.

    Dave arrived on time to the residence.  He thoroughly inspected the whole house--basement, first floor and attic.   He was continually informing me of what I should be looking for and how mold starts to grow as well as what he saw. He did not find any mold but said that every house has some mold.  This particular house is in the woods by a creek and is bound to be more humid than most.   He suggested  two dehumidifiers and to be vigilant about looking for water leaks, etc.  I was so relieved that nothing was found.  It was well worth the $99 I was charged for the peace of mind.
