I walked in to a friendly staff member who promptly greeted me and got me going. There was very little wait time to get my massage started. The masseuse was very knowledgable, professional and proficient. I walked out feeling as refreshed as a very pregnant woman could feel.

This was my second of two scheduled visits with Big Deal coupons. I had scheduled for a morning appointment, but an event came up and I called a couple days ahead to change my appointment. The woman there was very accommodating and was able to schedule me for an afternoon appointment. Still, I was running late by that afternoon. I called ahead to let them know I'd be 15 minutes late, and got voice mail, so left a message. On arrival, I was frazzled but was greeted, calmed, and taken right back to the room. I apologized, and was told it was his last appointment of the day so it was OK. The massage was excellent and melted away my stress very quickly. As I left, I noticed he had given me the full hour even though I was late, which I know he did not need to do. As with my first visit, I was sent off with water, a small gift bag, and information about return customer pricing. Overall, they took care of me again, even when I was late, and the massage was excellent.

In October, I realized I'd bought two Big Deal coupons for massages way back in May, intending to use them in August, and I suddenly worried they would expire. They were due to Nov. 4. I hoped to get both massages scheduled in the next couple weeks. The website had little information about hours, so I called and got a voicemail, and left a message. I also emailed, asking for a late Friday or Saturday appointment. I got a call back the next day, and was able to schedule two Saturday appointments, a couple weeks apart. She asked if I cared whether it would be a male massage therapist, and I said that was fine. She asked me to come a little early to do the paperwork. On the Saturday afternoon of the appointment, I arrived (way too early... I was looking forward to it.) Serenity Massotherapy is located in a small office building across from a shopping mall in a suburban area. It clearly had a previous life as a doctor's office, and still feels somewhat like that due to layout, signs remaining from the previous occupant, and furnishings more spa-like than a doctor's office but not as spa-like as a spa. I completed the form as the sign indicated and sat in the quiet waiting room reading provided magazines. The massotherapist and the last client came out after a while, and I was warmly greeted. The massotherapist was professional, calming, soft-spoken, friendly, and very respectful. He asked about some muscle strain I'd indicated on the form. The massage was excellent, with a firm pressure and with lots of respect for privacy. He checked in verbally a couple times during the massage, but largely it was a quiet massage (this is a plus for me.) At the reception desk afterward, he and the other woman there were quietly friendly, took care of the Angie's coupon smoothly, and presented me with water and a small gift bag. Very nice experience - I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated at the same time.

Overall, this was a good experience. The massage itself was average, but the massage therapist suggested that I see a chiropractor--I did and found out that I have misalignment in my shoulders and a compacted neck. Although the massage therapist wasn't able to relieve my pain, she has set me on the road to recovery, and for that I am grateful! The only issue that I ran into is that the place only accepts cash. Either I wasn't told that before hand, or I was told and it didn't register. Either way, she was very nice and worked with me by waiving the extra charge for upgrading my massage from a relaxation massage to a therapeutic massage. I had enough cash on me to cover the tax (and a pitiful tip).
