    Kicking Ash Chimney Svc
Did full inspection; chimney liner too small and in process of checking, found the liner wasnt even secured. Crew from Kicking Ash did superb job of evaluation, diagnosing problem, explaining everything clearly and providing detailed information on solution. They were polite, friendly, professional and competent. They replaced the chimney liner, fixed damper, insulated as needed and secured new liner and completed repairs on chimney on roof. Very complete and each step explained. While I really appreciated their competence and expertise, what was even more important to me was their honesty, commitment to quality work, high standards and comprehensiveness of services. This was the best service I have ever had through an Angies List service, I would strongly support their service and urge working with them.

    Bob Kessler Construction LLC
We have a concrete hippopotamus in our front yard. He is about 9 feet long, 4 feet high, and 3 1/2 feet wide. He is very heavy. His name is HOSS. He is about 15 years old and was showing his age. Some concrete patch work had been done over the years due to cracking and flaking. Some of the original concrete work as well as the concrete patch work had started to severely crack, separate, and flake. We decided that HOSS needed to see a Specialist. So, based on Angie's list reviews, we decided to hire Mr. Kessler as the dermatologist. Well, all right, as a concrete specialist. Mr. Kessler promptly scheduled an appointment (house call) to examine the patient. After careful examination, he scheduled a follow-up date a week later to perform the cosmetic surgery. Mr. Kessler, his assistant Clarence, and his (well-behaved) dog Charlie performed the delicate surgery. When they left, HOSS had a smooth, uniform appearance. They even extended their work to include ophthalmology by giving HOSS a new left eye since the original eye had fallen into his interior structure a couple years ago. Mr. Kessler recommended a special sealer and paint which we purchased at Sherwin Williams. We sealed and painted HOSS about a week after Mr. Kessler's surgery. HOSS looked GREAT! We had many comments from our friends [and even a few neighbors :) ] about how nice he looked. AHH, but the true test would be to see how HOSS survived the winter. And that is the reason this report has not been filed until now. Well, the result is that HOSS looks SUPER. NO Cracks! He has never had such a great complexion after a long winter. When our chimneys need repair I would hire him in a flash!

    PRECISION MASONRY RESTORATION INC
The entire process was excellent. Steve is punctual, responsive, and straight forward about what he will do and charge. He explained that the type of stone on our house is like a sponge, and it absorbs water unless it is water-proofed. First, the stone required a powerwash, and he deducted from the estimate since we could handle that part of the process. He said it would be a two day job, but only a couple of hours each day. The first day he and his crew repaired cracks in the masonry. The second day they waterproofed the entire front of the house. They covered the landscaping and moved the mulch and furniture. When they were done, they cleaned up perfectly and put everything back in place exactly as they found it. The crew was very friendly and professional in appearance and manner. It completely solved the water issues. As this type of stone requires periodic maintenance, we will be calling them to repeat this job as necessary.

    Bob Kessler Construction LLC
Bob and his assistant were very patient and responsive in explaining their process and answering my questions. I'm sure their work is beautiful. However, I did not hire him because he was unable to tell me "exactly" how long it would take and how much it would cost. I found it strange that when I requested a written estimate, he was hesitant to provide it. He also says his estimates are free in his company profile, however he not only was going to charge for the estimate, he also included in the estimate charges for the time it took him to figure it all out and write it all up, the time it took him to get to my house, and the time it took for his assistant to get from his house to work! He pretty much came out and said he was charging extra travel because we live so far away. It was so open-ended, with the possibility of costing more or less, taking more or less time, etc., etc., that in the end I felt as though the etimate was full of "nickle and diming".
