    America's Floor Source Corporate Offices
Hey Jason & Team, Just wanted to drop you a quick note about our experience with America's Floor Source. It's been FANTASTIC! From initial sales consult, to estimation, and finally getting it installed, your team was truly professional and customer-centric. We LOVE the floor! We ended up going with Mannington's Sawmill Hickory in Gunstock - part of the Restoration Collection. Everyone comments on it! You'll have to come see it in person! It's beautiful! We had some issues with our sub-floor being level (the house was built in 2001) when Andy/Jamie/Nick were starting the install - but they figured it out. They pulled up what they'd already installed, sanded the subfloor down, replaced some pieces, poured K15 to level it up and then ROCKED the install of approx 1300sf in just TWO days!! Incredible! You certainly have some terrific employees - nah strike that - they're your AFS FAMILY! They spoke very highly of what a great place to work America's Floor Source is! And it shows in their dedication and work! Much thanks - for everything! Happy customers! Your friends, Rob & Penny Truex

    Home Craft Remodeling Inc
This kitchen remodel was a large project that was completed in a thoroughly professional manner from start to finish.
Thomas Defibaugh is the business owner. He came to our home to discuss what we wanted and did an excellent job of asking questions as well as answering our questions and helped us get a better understanding of what was involved with a kitchen remodel. He had several ideas that we adopted. After that meeting he prepared a design draft and an initial quote and provided us with various material samples. We met again and worked out further details. Our next meeting was at the Home Craft offices on Westbourne Avenue. There we were able to see cabinet and granite samples and, after going over all the details in the contract, signed and placed a deposit. The work was then scheduled. This entire process was entirely amicable and devoid of any sort of pressure. We appreciated Tom's patience and the good advice we received from him.
The work began in a timely manner and continued at an appropriate pace. Two members of his crew -- Mike and Matt -- did most of the work other than install the flooring and the electrical work. Matt did a masterful job with the drywall and ceiling plaster. All of their work was professional grade and it was clear they took pride in doing quality work. Tom stopped by from time to time to check on how work was progressing and kept us apprised of the work schedule.
We love our new kitchen. It was a pleasure to work with Tom Defibaugh and all the folks at Home Craft Remodeling -- so much so that Home Craft will be doing our next project -- a family room makeover.
We highly recommend Home Craft Remodeling.

    Dan's Carpet & Laminates
I would not use them again. They came out and measured and estimated what I needed and they brought the sample. He just wrote down the estimate on a scrap of paper. There was no invoice, no form, no itemized list of prices, like I didn't know how much I was paying per yard of carpeting. It was written on graph paper with squares. It just had a price close to 4000. It just said this is your price and this is how much we want for down payment. It didn't say what they were going to do. Nobody was living in the house so they had free reign and they came late. The quality of work didn't seem very good, it just seemed like they were in a hurry.

    LARRY WALKER TILE
I used Larry Walker tile in order to finish a ceramic tile floor that I had started a year or so earlier but had hurt my back and couldn't finish by myself.  I made use of a coupon that was for six hours of tile installation for $150 with additional hours to be billed at $30 per hour.  I had finished most of the floor myself, but the edges needed to be cut and laid and the grout work still needed to be done.  After purchasing the coupon through one of the daily deals, I contacted Larry and scheduled a time (sort of).  He wasn't sure when the job he was currently working on would end, but he figured the following week and would call me back.  I had to call him back before I heard from him again.  Eventually, we connected and set up a time.  At the end of the job, the time above and beyond the coupon amounted to 15 hours (which seemed excessive to me) so the total for the job including the original coupon was $600.  Overall, the quality of work was very good and they did a nice job cleaning up after themselves and even moved a few heavy pieces of furniture in order to do the grout work.  All told it was a good, but not great experience.  Again, I felt the 15 hours (on top of the original 6) was a bit excessive for the amount of work that was left.  I was at work each of the days that they did the work, so I was not able to supervise and see what sort of pace they were working at.

    The Floor Magicians
Rob came for the estimate at the time he promised.  He was thorough in his estimate.  He recommended a tile store with plenty of selection.  Rob accommodated our unusual schedule.  We did run into a delay when Rob's previous job hit a snag due to that homeowner.  He quickly let us know and worked hard to get back to our job and finish as scheduled.

    AFFORDABLE CUSTOM FLOORING
At the time of sale we were informed that the new vinyl floor could be installed over the existing vinyl floor.  During the install a small cut in the old vinyl floor was patched by the installer.  Unfortunately the patch was not sanded/leveled enough prior to installing the new vinyl floor.  A large bump was very noticeable when entering the new floor area.  The company attempted to fix it twice but it only got worse/bigger from the stretching/manipulating of the new vinyl floor.  The rest of the floor went fine over the existing floor.

We were given the option of a refund or replace part or the entire floor.  The refund was not an acceptable amount and the company told us we would have to pay for the cost of the new underlayment that would go under the new vinyl.  Because we did not cause the problem we were not going to pay any additional dollars.

This issue went on for over 40 days and we eventually ended our relationship with this company.  We did not trust their work so we no longer wanted them in our house.

As you can see we signed up for Angie's List to report this problem.  We also found out that this company has had a contractual issue with Angie's List since August 2009.  At the time of sale my wife asked about any coupon on Angie's List.  The company told my wife to look on Angie's List for a $100 coupon.  Thus they lied to my wife since no coupon would have been available because of the contractual issue.

Finally, I don't understand how a company can continue to show the Angie's List Service Award Logo on their website when they are unable to fulfill their contract with Angie's List.

    New Albany Tile
We found out about Joe from Angie's List and he did a fantastic job. I called a few people, and Joe came right out. He came over and sat with us to go over the job. I did find that he was booked 3 months in advance because of the quality of the work. He was always on time and the job took about 4 days. He moved everything right back into the kitchen and was sure never to leave any dirt behind. I would highly recommend Joe to anyone.
