    Mayflower Tours
I would easily qualify for a 9+ on a scale from 1-10 if it had not been for our tour guide getting to and from the airports in Chicago and Frankfurt. I can only say that she was a real novice. As one of the other people in the group stated, "This is truly organized pandemonium!". Some of the specific issues are: 1. Boarding Passes - Group or not, one does not get through security with only a ticket. I was told (and I challenged the information) that since I was with a group, my ticket would allow me entrance to the gate and get a boarding pass there. Had to go through the security line twice. 2. In Frankfurt, we were at a standstill for 20 minutes until our tour guide decided to ask an airline representative. Fortunately, we did make out flight. 3. As we were preparing to leave Zurich to fly to Frankfurt, we were left standing in a group wondering if we were really going to get our boarding passes as a group. 4. Was told there would be washing machines available. Had to pay six Euros to have a shirt washed. 5. Receiving my luggage four days into the trip is a story in and by itself. The reason I did not receive my travel bag in Amsterdam was because of inaccurate direction. I arrived at O'Hare from Dayton independent of my trip on to Amsterdam. As far as my ticket was concerned, my trip terminated in Chicago. My plane arrived late, so I called the Mayflower guide for the trip stating that I was running late and all I had to do is pick up my bag and head to the international terminal. She stated that I did not need to get my bag; they would get it and onto the airplane. I actually challenged her on this, but she assured me that it would get to Amsterdam (this was Sunday). ... I finally got my bag on Thursday at 11:10 am. Of course I had to buy a few things and it was quite inconvenient. Because they allow individuals to be tour guides when they have so little knowledge how to negotiate through an airport, I have no choice but to not recommend them for travel.

    Red Roof Inn
I stayed there for four nights last week. It was a nightmare! The water was disconnected for most of Friday. After being told the water was finally fixed, I got in the shower to get ready for a wedding rehearsal dinner. They turned the water off again while I was in the shower with conditioner still in my hair. After asking them to find me someplace else to finish showering and getting ready for the dinner... They did nothing. I had to drive to Oak Hill to find my own solution. When I asked the owner to remove Friday's charge from our bill, he told me we had water the next day and he would only give me a 50% discount for the one day. Oh... And the beds SUCK, and even though we were supposed to be in a non-smoking room, it and the whole upper floor smelled like cigarette smoke.

    Twin Horizons Travel
I called 2 times on separate weeks during normal business hours and got their answering machine. I left a very clear message that I needed help setting up a trip to Europe with my family of 4 in September. My budget for this trip was very significant implying a sizable commission for the travel agent that helps me out. No one ever called me back. I'm very disappointed that a company which is service based cannot even return my phone call to say that they are busy and will schedule time to meet with me later. I ended up booking most of the travel myself on the web. Maybe I saved a few dollars, but I would rather have the expertise of an experienced travel agent to guide me through the process.

They were supposed to get my family a vacation to Walt Disney World in Florida. Well somethings came up and they were supposed to cancel. A month has went by and now we have a fee of 1,200 to pay because they wanted to be lazy and not do as we asked. We will NOT go back!
