    American Wood Reface
    The refacing of kitchen cabinets, along with overhead light fixture replacement and crown and base mouldings was extremely well done by American Wood Reface in January, 2018. I've had numerous compliments and 2 of those couples remarked how they would make plans to have their kitchens replaced in the near future. The kitchen looks beautiful!! We would do it all over again if we would move to another house.

    The faux finish on the fireplace was amazing! It turned out exactly as we had described to Christie as to what we had wanted. She also helped us choose a color for the cabinets that captured the new fireplace color, yet blended with the walls and the dark beams that remained. Her expertise is exceptional. She had a team of 4 young men assisting her. Don���t let their age fool you. She has trained them in the art of faux painting and they are all extremely talented ��� She and her crew are all highly skilled and produce amazing results!

    Not as great as I have hoped. 
    Pro's- accommodating sales people (Dick), price is good compared to others, wood that was ordered was beautiful and came with various styles of beveled wood for free (other companies charged extra).
    Neutral's- Darius (who completed the work) was never on time but usually came within the hour. Usually worked from 10:30 am to 3 - 4 pm.
    Con's- the kitchen was not cleaned every day, I had to clean/vacuum every night (since the kitchen is in the middle of the house). Even after the job was completed and he vacuumed, I still had to spend an hour cleaning everything. Also, no appliances were covered during this process.
    Overall the work was good, but some of it was sloppy. A quarter of the wood panels in the kitchen had noticeable nail gun dents in it (most of it I'm dealing with but had him replace one of the panels). One of the hardware knobs is crooked. I had to point out the little imperfections to him once he was finished. Wrong valence was ordered.
    Lastly, professionalism. Darius needed to come back another day to finish up the kitchen, but pressured me (and became frustrated) to pay him that day before the work was 100% completed. He tried to put the guild trip on me by saying that he had a lot of money invested in this project and how it was already finished (even though 2 things needed to be corrected). 
    With previous Angie's List reviews, I had high hopes for this company. Overall, the work was ok, but I would not hire them again, especially when they disrespect their customers.

    Absolute Nightmare! Could literally write a small novel about all of these issues with them. The lack of care and detail for paying customers was extremely hurtful. We were not disclosed that our cabinets would include particle board. damaged cabinets repeatedly delivered to us. Poor customer service We were referred to this company by family, so we decided to put our faith in them with our kitchen remodel which included design, and purchase of full cabinetry. This process began in mid August 2014. This process included a series of meetings with our sales rep/manager. My wife and I communicated everything with our sales rep about this process, we also worked with an intern as well who provided the design of the kitchen layout. We were very happy with the design. From there, we discussed our price range and the types of cabinets we wanted. After going over several prices and samples/options. We decided to go with the Medallion brand cabinets. Our concern was that these cabinets were all wood opposed to particle board aka furniture board. Our sales rep stated several times that these cabinets were "an all wood box." So we agreed on this option they provided in the amount of nearly $8,660.91. We also decided to save cost by paying several of our friends and family whom are carpenters and experience cabinet installers. They agreed to store our cabinets until we were ready to install them due to the fact there we were still in demolition stages. Our cabinets were delivered on Dec. 11, we had our hired work ready to go, as they started opening up the boxes they discovered several cracked cabinets, and many of the cabinets contained particle board, which was never disclosed to us. We would have never knowingly agreed to this, we already had quotes from big box stores for particle board cabinets that were around 4-5k. We wanted all wood cabinets. We immediately tried to contact Betty, we were unable to reach her due to it being a sunday. We were forced to send our hired work home because we were not going to install damaged cabinets as well as we thought there was a mistake in the purchase. We finally were able to reach Betty that monday night around 8 30pm. We explained to her how upset we were that most of the cabinets contained particle board, as well as the damaged cabinets. She explained to us what we ordered via invoice, but we explained to her, she never mentioned particle board cabinets. I told her we felt that her sales presentation was misleading. I also explained the deadline we were under and that I paid contractors for various projects in order to keep up with timeline of the cabinet delivery. Regardless of the particle board cabinets, we were now forced to wait for replacement cabinets for the two damaged ones. She told us this would take at least several weeks, obviously putting our project on hold. While waiting for the replacement cabinets, we discovered another broken cabinet, this particular cabinet was not unboxed on delivery day because we decided to keep it safe until the replacement cabinets came in. We notified Betty immediately, and she made arrangements to replace it. So now we were waiting on a total of 3 cabinets. Weeks passed, we were told we would hear something the week of January 5th as to the status of the two cabinets (the third cabinet that was discovered after so it would arrive after the original 2 we initially discovered). We heard nothing, so I contaced Betty, she revealed the cabinets in fact arrived to their store, but were both damaged again. Obviously upset, because now we had to wait another 3 weeks. The third cabinet arrived January 11, but we were not even home, Tom adimitingly said he forget to look at the email confirmation for delivery. Fortunetly a relative that lives nearby saw the truck and let them in. still did not have the original two cabinets that were broken again. Meanwhile, I was emailing owner Tom, my complaints, pictures, ect. Flat out ignoring them until he realized this was spinning out of control. He responded only when Betty informed us that we would now be dealing directly with Tom until the two cabinets arrived. We finally received the rest of the cabinets on Jan.23. The delivery worker also replaced doors from the old broke ones onto the new ones. I discovered also that one cabinet has a faulty drawer. I emailed Tom many times requesting refund for the extra cost and poor quality. He has yet to respond, over 10 emails. Only responded to the drawer issue.

    Trying to provide all the details of this project, which at the end became complete failure, would take pages and pages.
    Mr. Raeder along with his crew were not able to complete the job using advertised staining method, tried several times and results seemed worse every time they returned. They were aggravated with our dissatisfaction, Bill was acting extremely rude and unprofessional, unwilling to solve the problem because of his complete lack of knowledge of N-hance proprietary staining process.  
    After a month long ordeal, our cabinets ended up being painted, not stained, looking hideous, assembled back incorrectly (doors don't close as they did), paint is coming off with every wipe during cleaning and is already chipping away in certain spots (it's been only 5 moths!).
    This was a total nightmare and I feel we paid Bill for ruining our cabinets.
    I rated him "F" on the price as well, because originally we agreed on this price based on the proposal of staining the cabinets. For me painting cabinets is not worth the money we paid. 
    Be aware and do your research before hiring contractors. Unfortunately I picked this company using Angie's list.
